Also agree. Its a summary of what many other videos and documentary accounts of AIC hit on with the show. The day somebody comes out with a video that actually has the entire, uncut show with no edits I'd love to see that. Not because I wanna see the re-dos because of a screw up here or there but I think there was a lot of back and forth with the band and audience that we don't get on the DVD or CD. Sadly we'll never see it though since MTV owns the rights and the uncut tapes sit in the vault somewhere!

Pearl Jam and Nirvana were great, but for several reasons AIC is better IMO.
Timing, Pearl Jam was awesome, but they did it 1992 coming off the road, so they didn't have time to rearrange songs the way they would have liked. Not to mention, they had only released Ten at the time, VS n Vitalogy would have offered a great selection of additional songs.
AIC doing Unplugged with just facelift would be similar, would have been awesome to hear Love hate love, bleed the freak....
Nirvana is definitely considered the most iconic, KC dying months after certainly contributes to that standing.
Nirvana doing 4-5 cover songs is where it separates for me, 1-2 is great, but doing almost half the set with someone else's songs, not so much!
That said, Kurts interaction with band and crowd was kool to watch, where Layne was 2 years further into his addiction/introverted mannerisms.

My favorite part is when Layne messed up on sludge factory.

Unplugged is a WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT than that band up there without Layne! Only one lead in that band and he isn’t there.

You said the greatest performance of all time? I mean Nirvana would take the mtv unplugged title. As for AIC.. the facelift live video was their best performance. Love Hate Love is probably the best that line up ever ever played it live.
