For real? Saying that it’s a relatively common metaphor in therapy to demonstrate how tied together pain and values are and you can’t have one without the other.
@@TherapistReactsOfficial It really is! I think this is one of the main ideas in the show, that there is no such thing as good without evil and no evil without good. All humans are flawed and imperfect and in the pursuit of perfection you lose the humanity, and even in the worst of people you will find goodness. It really is breathtaking, the way the story portrays all of this. I cannot recommend it enough.
Cool, definitely going to check it out very soon. I take those big cake bases I used as a coin when I do consultations with mental health teams, carers, social workers etc to show them that they can’t have the bit where they help people, without having the part where they are caused some pain from those people. And when asked if they would give up the coin. It’s a nice lead into acceptance for them that painful stuff will always show up in stuff that’s important. I think that makes sense! Thanks for commenting.
@@TherapistReactsOfficial its incredible how this show, shows human life and emotions that feel as real as anything.. amazing show and as a father?? you will very much enjoy this.
You NEED to watch the tv show, but it would be great if we could get your perspective on it as well. I know you're not a show reaction channel, but it's definitely something to consider, especially because the show is such a goldmine for various concepts in therapy. All of the characters are so realistic and well written and I'd love to hear your perspective on it all!
@@TherapistReactsOfficial That makes me so happy :) i have seen nothing like arcane before. The way this show illustrates trauma, different mental illnesses and how different characters cope with their own struggles and the struggles of the people around them is extraordinarily done. It feels like they cut out real peoples problems and packaged them in a fantasy setting with extremely authentic characters which go through hardships that close to every human on this planet has to to through in his life, one way or the other. Really looking forward to your reaction and analysis to show
I need to add a nuance that I fear has been lost in translation. For the sentence "Mais ma meilleurs ennemie c'est toi" I would translate it as "but my best enemy is you". Because "meilleur ami" in French is "best friend" and in the context of the song; the duality of you're the best/worst thing that happened to me. I feel like it's a better fit than the "greatest enemy"
THIS! This has been really bugging me about this lyric video. The song title is a pun, a play on "my best friend," and the whole "greatest enemy" thing is such a clumsy translation that downright obscures this.
Great reaction, can’t wait for you 2 see the show. The coin conversation is actually perfect when you’ve watched the show and is exactly what this song and these two characters represent when they’re together.
God I love this song. One thing I want to add is that the translation for some reason wasn’t correct on release so the part where it says “I love you, I am leaving you” should actually say “I love you, I hate you”. Translated from “Je t’aime, je te hais” which are the actual lyrics and not “Je t’aime, je te quitte”.
Thanks for that. That makes so much more sense in the context of what’s probably going on. Have the two opposing views (love and hate) as opposed to an emotion and a behaviour (love and leave) as that could lead to a different understanding of why one is leaving.
@@TherapistReactsOfficial I have to interfere once more as there are many false statements of whats being said. It sais je t´aime je t´attend. Which means i love you im waiting for you. This might make less sense than the other interpretations but it is indeed the correct one. Though with the shows context it does make sense.
@noahnamikaze4490 Thats actually not true, its been confirmed to be Je t'aime, je te hais. Even spotify and other streaming platforms now say je te hais
@noahnamikaze4490 A simple google search or even a simple look at the description in the official Visualizer from Riot Games Music official channel says “je t’aime, je te hais”. Just listening to it is not enough especially since there is so many effects on the voice where the words can get mixed up. I will grant you that by listening to it, it might sound like it’s saying “je t’attend”, but the lyrics does say otherwise 🤷
@noahnamikaze4490 I guess I have to also interfere. When listening back to it, and trying to filter out effects and background noise and sounds, I get why people might say that the actual lyrics are "je t'aime, je t'attend". Having so many effects on a voice, can very well make you think that it is saying something wrong. If they ever go back and change the official lyrics for it, I would honestly understand why though. The issue here is that on pretty much every official site and streaming platform, it says "je t'aime, je te hais" not only that, but it is also the lyrics on the official visualizer on the official Riot Games Music RUclips channel. Keep in mind that on release, the lyrics said "je t'aime, je te quitte", and they now corrected it to "je t'aime, je te hais". It would be a big oopsie by Riot if they did messed up twice like that honestly. But you could also say that if they did messed up once they very much could do it twice. But as long as they keep these lyrics, I don't see a reason to say otherwise. I guess only time will tell.
This reaction and your reaction to The Line by 21 pilots is a testament to how good the soundtrack is. Because even people who haven't watched any of the show can connect and feel the emotions in the lyrics and can understand the meaning of the lyrics. and i love how you brought up the coin metaphor because that is also brought up across the whole series. Your reactions have helped me understand the songs and the meaning of the songs more. p.s. i didnt even realize it but i watched your videos a while ago when i was dealing with mental health issues, and you helped me through that so i just want to thank you for being on RUclips and posting videos that help people.
The translation of " ma meilleure ennemie" Is not exactly "my greatest enemy", but it would be more accurate as "my best enemy"; some sort of combination of "best friend" and "greatest enemy".
5:13 There’s a specific line in the show that I feel is exactly what your talking about the quote is “That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil” this show is following so many different versions of the two sides of a coin and it’s so powerful and despite it being an animated series it feels so real and natural, it’s honestly just so incredible.
I just watched ur video on you reacting to the line and in the video I wished u reacted to this song to. Now I see this uploaded, u literally read my mind
13:07 You'll be surprised by how no one can actually guess the exact situation depicted in this song unless they watch the show. But you were still very close. Waiting for your reactions on the show. Love from India. ❤
my man hit literally every nail on the head here. Prophet of the Arcane!! You're gonna have a field day with this show, I swear. I can't wait to see your breakdowns of the characters or themes.
To me the theme of this song is longing. When you begin a relationship and fall in love with somebody you begin to picture how perfect life would be with them, almost like living in paradise, but those fantasies aren't real and when things don't work out the reality of the situation can crush you which can also turn your love into hatred.
I can't wait for your reaction to Arcane! It's very beautiful. All of the characters emotions are written so well. I think they portray mental illness in the show very well, too. You're in for quite the ride! I'll watch all your reactions!
4:00 im currently in a Wisdom seminar, and one of the topics was wisdom in Buddism, alot of the teaching tackle this exact "problem" of hurting where your values are. Their solution to this is to accept the finite, fleeting nature and to not personalize material things for they will cause more pain in your life. its an interesting approach, but for me personally, some things are just worth hurting for :)
Yeah I can see that perspective. I tend to lean toward using this metaphor as a way to introduce acceptance. Acceptance from the perspective that the values things always bring some amount of pain, so it makes more sense to work on accepting pain, discomfort, unpleasant thoughts and feels etc and take that stuff with you on the ride, rather than live a life where you have to give up all the coins and hence don’t have the meaningful stuff. I hope that makes some sense for a YT comment.
Really looking forward to seeing you react to the show! As someone who has worked in the mental health field as well, it is so full of great commentary on things that influence one’s mental health for better or worse, on both a small and large scale. I think you will really enjoy it and have a lot to talk about!
Most of the songs from Arcane S2 are worth listening to from an analyzing standpoint. Especially if a therapist listens to them lol. Wasteland, Remember Me and I Can't Hear It Now are definitely must listens
I subscribed to your channel immediately after watching your reaction to “The Line”. I can’t wait to watch your reaction to Arcane. This series is a masterpiece! And your thoughts about this song - 10/10. Just WOW!!!
It's amazing that you are picking out key points of the show, just from the songs! Very well chosen songs for that reason! I can't wait to see your reaction to the show, it truly is an amazing piece of media!
"They're separating, you know, and that longing look back at each other." My guy that was the exact scene from the episode. It was beautiful and heartbreaking.
If i had to chose only one thing that love about your videos I'd choose your voice, it's very calming. Thank you for your reactions and cant wait for more arcane videos!
Its really amazing how your song's analysis (as you'll hopefully see soon) in terms of what you picture in your mind from the lyrics, aligns really well with the show script and scenes!
Sir, you have a brilliant mind and an incredible perspective. I absolutely love this series; it has helped me so much, especially in terms of my mental well-being and learning to appreciate life more. I’m even more grateful to hear your opinions-so far, I've only heard your thoughts on two songs from the series, but they are so insightful and educational. I can’t wait to follow your journey and hear all your opinions on the rest of the series. Wishing you safety, success, and happiness in life!
To regular people I say "you should 100% watch this show", but to you as a therapist you should 1000% watch this show!!. The only bad thing about it is that no other show will ever be able to make you experience something as intense as what Arcane does.
Love love love your Arcane music reactions!!!! I highly recommend the song “what could have been” by Sting. It was my favorite one before “the line” came out.
I saw a comment saying that you'd react to the show Would the reactions be uploaded because if so then I'm definitely subscribing because mental health in this show is displayed so realistically and I'd love a person from your field to see it
Such great insights from you once again! Without knowing anything about the storyline, you immediately picked up on the themes and emotions and communicated it so well. Looking forward to your reactions to the show in the future :D
I really like coin metaphors, I like to keep in mind that, when I’m on one side of the coin, I can never see the other, but I’m always bound to it, I often think this sounds silly at first, but comparing it to life situations made me realise how much of a coin flip life can be
I love the way you interpret everything you’ve watched without context of the show itself because it’s accurate!! ‘Wasteland’ by ‘Royal and the Serpent’ is also a title track from this series and I think it hits something deep within me whenever I hear it. Maybe you should try listening to that too!! Can’t wait for you to react to the series💕
Second video of yours I've seen, found you through your last arcane video, and I just want to say, I love your insights. Feel like I'm getting smarter the more I hear your thoughts
regarding your last question: each season is 9 episodes = 6 hours (18 episodes and 12 hours total) each season is set up into 3 acts which are each 3 episodes (2 hours watchtime) you should probably release an episode for each act (3 videos a season) because there is a TON of content/emotions to go over and could fit into a 20-30 minute video each is you really dove in deep. -also, the end of every act is a good place to make predictions for the rest of the show. the other option is to release 2 videos for each season but personally the show is a bit too fast paced for that amount of content to go over (probably the only critique ive heard of for the show lol) happy if this helps!
I started following you just because of the expectation that you will do a series of videos throughout the show for Arcane. Plus because you seem to be a genuine and very good therapist who nailed your prejudices and understanding with so little context. The show really touched me deeply in my heart for some reason, and especially that exact scene. It was something about their life's pain, dimensions and destiny. It all just gave me anxiety for a whole week for some unknown reason to myself and I had to confront my feeling all alone by sitting on a bench doing nothing for a lot of hours. I am more cool with myself now and I still dont know if I made the right assumptions with the touch since I did it all alone instead of doing it with a therapist. I believe I am not the only one feeling this way, and by just getting your input and explanations would help me, and a lot of other people, more than you think. I feel so sure about it that I´ll assume that you´ve gotten much attention just because of this show. Doing a reaction on the whole show, especially constantly after every third episode (if not each one) is a must. Please.
I really hope you'll react to the whole show. The songs and lyrics alone are amazing, but together with the story of the show it just hits different. Your thoughts were already pretty accurate but I would love to see a deeper analysis to all that in connection to the whole story
"Amo et odi" is a Latin poem that speaks about the struggles of love. The poet, despite recognizing the cross (in the Roman Empire, death by crucifixion was a punishment reserved for rebels and slaves), accepts it and moves forward. This theme remains timeless in literature, but the way it is portrayed in the show is delightful and reminds me of the suffering expressed by Catullus.
Another interpretation I’ve seen of the “I love you, I leave you” line is “I love you, I hate you” and honestly both work and make a lot of sense in the context of the show/the characters.
i would highly recommend reacting to this show, it explores many mental health issues - grief, abandonment issues, schizophrenia as a result of trauma, suicidal thoughts, self hatred stemmed from disability, SO MUCH!
Adding to the "you'll genuinely appreciate this show" train, but with an important note: I *highly* recommend watching the first three episodes at once. Each season is set up as three acts of three episodes each and while it's satisfying to watch it that way, it's not necessary EXCEPT, in my opinion, for the very first three. Can't wait...! :D
That demonstration was amazing, as someone who is in the fence about therapy moments like that when I see that a therapist knows what they’re talking about makes me think that I should give it a try
Thanks Aaron. That’s a really touching comment as I try to talk about the concepts in a relatable way as possible hoping that it, in some way, helps at least one person.
I'm really excited about you watching Arcane. I've been in love with the series since i first watched it. I'm recommending it to EVERYONE i know. I will date say it is one of the best animated series ever made. From the story, the writing, the animation, to the music it is exquisite. You will really enjoy it.
Bang on understanding of the relationship spotlighted in the song! Glad you're planning to watch the show! It's really good and you're definitely going to have fun watching the characters and their relationships
Are you in for a ride! You pretty well nailed this situation. The relationship is... complicated, but this scene is pure pleasure of companionship and can be enjoyed without any context. It is probably my favourite of the whole series.
If you like the show as much as we commenters do, some of these songs are going to _haunt_ you afterward. The first couple bars of a track from season 1 still puts a lump in my throat 3 years after first hearing it because the show reinforces mood with its bespoke soundtrack so well. You're in for a treat.
Your assumptions are making me cry again😭 Cant wait for your reaction, i love this show and i love all the characters. they are all flawed and interesting, definitely something a therapist can react to. Even if youre more of a music reactor instead of episodes? (that could change its up to you ig), it would be cool to react to the music in the context of the show since every and i mean EVERY episode has brilliant music worth talking about. just a thought
Man if you only knew the context of it all. It's so infinitely complex and yet so simple. You'll look back on this reaction after you watch this episode.
Glad you decided to do a breakdown on this song. It really describes a lot about stuff in life in a very artistic way. The show is also very unique. it's the best thing I watched since LotR trilogy
If you watch the show the episode/scene this song is used for you'll understand how this song jumped the top of the charts. It's an amazing mix of music and animation with story and emotion
two sides of the same coin is such a huge part of second season, i think we would all love to see your reaction to it all, especially because i believe you will give us a very cool perspective compared to alot of "react channels"
For these song there’s actually 2 episodes that are kind of counter parts in the first one they are fighting to dead, and in the other they are dancing in a party
Hi, I just discovered your channel, I really like it, what you say is interesting and allows me to think from new perspectives, so thank you. I don't know if you usually react to series, but I think an Arcane analysis from a therapist could be incredibly intresting P.S. Nevermind, I commented before seeing the part when you say you're going to do it, my bad
The official lyrics are "je t'aime. Je te hais" (I love you, I hate you.) Riot Games confirmed it by now. Obviously SPOILER: In the main timeline Ekko (left on the picture) and Jinx/Powder (right on the picture) are enemies. The picture is from a scene in an alternate universe where Powder never became Jinx and they never became enemies. They become lovers. The sad thing is: He leaves this alternate universe to save his own one. And by doing this he lose this happy life. There's more to it but you need to watch it for yourself. But I never felt a song so hard like this one without knowing the language. Knowing the translation makes it even worse or better. Don't know. What a beautiful and sad song.
I love your videos. I just wanted to let you know that I think it would be better if you reacted to the music first before seeing the show so we can see how you find out. Or film yourself when you discover the series, it would be better I think
In the beginning it doesnt say "je t'aime, je te quitte", it says "je t'aime, je t'attends" which means "I love you, im waiting for you" and is way more fitting to the series and the displayed "relationship" of Ekko and Powder/Jinx. And as you will see while watching the Series they arent enemies but friends in the series. "Enemy" in this case is an abreviation of "Weakness". As in she is the greatest challenge/enemy/weakness for/of him.
in France, we have an expression that sum such sort of Love Hate relationship it's "je taime, moi non plus" Wich translate roughly by "i love you, me neither" Basicly, i love you as much as i hate you, i seek you, and i push you back all together.
Hi friend, that song seemed wonderful to me, although at first I didn't understand it because my language is Spanish, but without understanding it, I loved its music, then I saw it translated and I liked it more.
I cant fanthom enaugh. Like I did not really dwell into the scene in arcane that much but now its just so much more than it already was even tho it was very insane as it was. Honestly, easily my favorite thing I have watched is Arcane because of these ways it speaks. I gotta say, I never really noticed how much meaning these songs have it for the show until now. But goddamm I must say that its impressive
I recommend watching the Jinx Ekko Bridge fight in Arcane. Just that fight. It gives so much background and depth to these characters in this song. The song in the fight isn't important, but the fight itself tells a story and is stunning. It is amazing how much storytelling is done and how much is conveyed in a fight scene without a single word shared. You should be able to find the fight easily on RUclips, and it doesn't really spoil the plot.
A quote from the show: “two sides of the same coin, inextricably bound”

I’m even more grateful to hear your opinions-so far, I've only heard your thoughts on two songs from the series, but they are so insightful and educational. I can’t wait to follow your journey and hear all your opinions on the rest of the series. Wishing you safety, success, and happiness in life!
To regular people I say "you should 100% watch this show", but to you as a therapist you should 1000% watch this show!!. The only bad thing about it is that no other show will ever be able to make you experience something as intense as what Arcane does.
I love that you see the competition between them. spot on. Can't wait to see your reactions to the show
Aughhh this song made me cry for hours. The context for this song really is so important.
Love love love your Arcane music reactions!!!! I highly recommend the song “what could have been” by Sting. It was my favorite one before “the line” came out.
I saw a comment saying that you'd react to the show
Would the reactions be uploaded because if so then I'm definitely subscribing because mental health in this show is displayed so realistically and I'd love a person from your field to see it
Such great insights from you once again! Without knowing anything about the storyline, you immediately picked up on the themes and emotions and communicated it so well. Looking forward to your reactions to the show in the future :D
Honestly, you nailed them with the coin metaphor. New as a sub to the channel but I really enjoyed this!
11:46 "she the one that ended this" wow how did he do that
When you watch the show and see the dynamic between these two this song makes much more sense and it really represents them well!
seconding watching arcane! there is so much to analyse about these characters and im always excited for a new therapists take
I Love this song, please react to more arcane
I really like coin metaphors, I like to keep in mind that, when I’m on one side of the coin, I can never see the other, but I’m always bound to it, I often think this sounds silly at first, but comparing it to life situations made me realise how much of a coin flip life can be
wow, looking forward to your Arcane reactions!
It would be wonderful to see your reaction to the show Arcane ❤
Actually the real lyrics of the song are "Je t'aime, je t'attends" which means "I love You, I'm waiting for you"
Second video of yours I've seen, found you through your last arcane video, and I just want to say, I love your insights. Feel like I'm getting smarter the more I hear your thoughts
regarding your last question:
each season is 9 episodes = 6 hours (18 episodes and 12 hours total)
each season is set up into 3 acts which are each 3 episodes (2 hours watchtime)
you should probably release an episode for each act (3 videos a season) because there is a TON of content/emotions to go over and could fit into a 20-30 minute video each is you really dove in deep.
-also, the end of every act is a good place to make predictions for the rest of the show.
the other option is to release 2 videos for each season but personally the show is a bit too fast paced for that amount of content to go over (probably the only critique ive heard of for the show lol)
happy if this helps!
No way you described their whole relationship it's kind of crazy how he does this in just a few minutes. You really have to watch the show 😭
Im so glad you reacted to this one. It had me in tears from the shear message: This is what could have been. 😢
This music with the show's context makes so much sense and is just living in my mind rent free.
It is so good!!!
this song is gunna cut so deep once you watch the show and see the part the song plays in
The Coin concept blew my mind because Ekko gives Powder an necklace that makes a complete image when she spins it
i would highly recommend reacting to this show, it explores many mental health issues - grief, abandonment issues, schizophrenia as a result of trauma, suicidal thoughts, self hatred stemmed from disability, SO MUCH!
Oh this is the perfect show for a therapist reaction
That demonstration was amazing, as someone who is in the fence about therapy moments like that when I see that a therapist knows what they’re talking about makes me think that I should give it a try
Thanks Aaron. That’s a really touching comment as I try to talk about the concepts in a relatable way as possible hoping that it, in some way, helps at least one person.
Man seeing the lyrics and really dwelling on the meaning still doesn't fail to bring me to tears.
I'm really excited about you watching Arcane. I've been in love with the series since i first watched it.
I'm recommending it to EVERYONE i know.
I will date say it is one of the best animated series ever made. From the story, the writing, the animation, to the music it is exquisite. You will really enjoy it.
"I'm Still" is another one of Juice Wrld's bangers, it's my favourite :3
can't wait to see your reactions about arcane
Bang on understanding of the relationship spotlighted in the song! Glad you're planning to watch the show! It's really good and you're definitely going to have fun watching the characters and their relationships
I hadn't even gone through the lyrics myself other than with my limited grasp of French haha, so this was great to listen to.
This song is so lovely❤
U havent watch the show and understood the concept of the song in the show.
The song does a perfect job and u did an AMAZING job as well. Amazed!
Are you in for a ride! You pretty well nailed this situation. The relationship is... complicated, but this scene is pure pleasure of companionship and can be enjoyed without any context. It is probably my favourite of the whole series.
This scene and the song breaks me😭😭💔. I highly recommend watching the series.💯
You got it all right!! Such an amazing take
If you like the show as much as we commenters do, some of these songs are going to _haunt_ you afterward. The first couple bars of a track from season 1 still puts a lump in my throat 3 years after first hearing it because the show reinforces mood with its bespoke soundtrack so well. You're in for a treat.
the song occurs after Ma Meillaure Ennemie of these two are Wasteland, you can react it if you want to know more of it (without spoilers)
I REALLY wish he watches Arcane. I think he would appreciate and enjoy it so much... Also I would love to hear his insight on it.
Cool video!
For someone who hasn't watched the show, your analysis are always very accurate lol
Hi, I just discovered your channel, I really like it, what you say is interesting and allows me to think from new perspectives, so thank you.
I don't know if you usually react to series, but I think an Arcane analysis from a therapist could be incredibly intresting
P.S. Nevermind, I commented before seeing the part when you say you're going to do it, my bad
YOOO im super curious for your reaction to the series!
The official lyrics are "je t'aime. Je te hais" (I love you, I hate you.)
Riot Games confirmed it by now.
Obviously SPOILER:
In the main timeline Ekko (left on the picture) and Jinx/Powder (right on the picture) are enemies.
I know other people mentioned this as well, but pls do "Goodbye" and "Wasteland" from Arcane.
Great reaction, I cannot wait for your thoughts on Arcane!
I cant wait for you to react on this series!
in France, we have an expression that sum such sort of Love Hate relationship
it's "je taime, moi non plus"
Wich translate roughly by "i love you, me neither"
Basicly, i love you as much as i hate you, i seek you, and i push you back all together.
