Yes there's alot involved but i think most people probably realise that making a knife package as good as yours comes from work, work, work, but still a real treat to watch mr jacklore at work. thanks for sharing sandy.
I love the way you make the remark about the importance of the stitch bed... not many leather workers do it to nowadays. You actually make the inside belt loop stitch bed!!! Respect!!
fantastic insight into true craftsmanship sandy, people can now fully see and hopefully appreciate the amount of work that goes into what you do.great work, keep it up!!!
I cant thank you enough for making these videos, Sandy. I drink them in like cool spring water on a hot, dry day. I will never hold one of your knives, but I can fondle my condor and make believe;)
Very nice, Sandy. I see that you now glue the sheath before using the chisel. I could never get my lines to match up on the rear when chiseling one side before sanding. A true master. I've learned much from your vids. thanks Rich
Fantastic!👍 it really shows how much work goes into this. thank you for sharing your skills with us! Best regards from Pewsey Vale. 👍👍 PS- Forgot to say Sandy... watch out ! you got a bleamin dalek hiding on your shelves there !!😱 I reckon he's taken a fancy to them sheaths , you better watch he 👍😁
Really enjoyed that. I love these vids that answer questions I haven't asked yet , or clear up bits I wonder about in the process used. This one cleared up a shed-load. Thanks Sandy ...
That is outstanding work Sandy and the attention to detail / amount of processes involved in making a sheath is really something to behold. I dare say that if I tried to make something remotely resembling a knife sheath it would look like I'd been blindfolded and handed a chainsaw to work with....
Sir ,You are to be commended on your excellent work. Your attention to detail and the process is absolutely of the best quality. I just recently found your knife channel, and am impressed. Thank you for the journey. May you continue for a long time .
you're creations are partly why I chose to try and make my own knife. I can see that you aren't just doing it for money and it is very admirable. cheers Dave
I find your videos very relaxing and thank you for that, there is something about the calm patience of a true craftsman, it’s either right or not right. Good on ya.
You are an amazing craftsman. I think your high quality "utilitarian" vision has been surpassed. If I owned one of you knives I would keep it in a display cabinet. They are exquisite. I am still learning to make amateur knives as a hobby and I am learning not only how, but just how much patience and heartache is involved. My last three blades have come out of my kiln pitted despite anti scale coat :-(. Thank you pointing us amateurs in the right direction.
Excellent Hopefully I will be able to do just as good when I make my sheaths for my knives. I have made holsters in the past, it's just going to depend on how much I can remember from when I did that. And of course, practice. Thanks for this great video. I will probably watch it a number of times again in the future. Have a great day.
What a great video Sandy, I for one never even had the slightest idea the amount of work that went into the humble sheath. If you add it all up, parts that looks like the best quality leather nice and thick, and the man hours you put into it. Each unit must cost you a great deal. Thank you for taking the time to give us the journey from start to finish, it was an eye opener for me. Love the AVO meter you have. Nothing wrong with old school mate, I think its the future. Dave
Thank you so much sandy to see how much work you put into your knife sheaths and you knives I can see why they are the Rolls Royce of knives one day I will be lucky enough to own one thank you so much for you videos sandy I love watching them
Another great instructional video. Knowing how much you love the name , "gum tragacanth", I was waiting for the music to fade out every time you went to use it, just to hear you say it. 😉 I have learned a ton from your videos!!! I hope to begin my first leather sheath soon.
Hi Sandy.Wonderful to know how you make a sheath. Also good to see my knife in one of them at the end of the vid...... On a brighter side......the funniest part of the vid for me is when your hammering in the stitch holes and you speed it up... Just reminds me of the Benny Hill show.... had to have a giggle...... I'm going for a hike up to Mount Glorious next week.Wishing my Jacklore will be by my side....If not I'll just have to to take a butter knife......:( Good video as always... Cheers Kim.....
You do such great work, and you put so much time into each knife and it's sheath. Te sheath alone must be a couple of houre for each one! Really enjoyed watching you put it together, and hope the family is doing well? Have a good one! :-) Kev B.
This is awesome video my friend! So much great details and profound leather work and yet more work in days of periods which was squeezed in couple of minutes video and it will serve someone for tens of decades - thanks to your skilled work Sandy. Best greetings from leather works, Osmo ps. Making this vid is so huge too!
Love watching you work Sandy, the attention to detail is very inspiring, can I ask why you twist the cord when you stitch, does it make the saddle stitch tighter, I have never tried that.
Why oh why are so many fantastic youtube videos ruined with dreadful music? Id much rather listen to the sound of working tools!!! Brilliant craftsmanship.

Sandy, I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos.

Watching the video brought back memories of working with my Father in his shoe repair shop. Thank you.
Perfectionism and craftsmanship every step of the way, including the editing of the video. A pleasure to watch.

I greatly appreciate the skilled craftsmanship you put into every piece you make. I hope to own one of your knives and sheaths one day soon.
Man, the time, love and dedication you put into each knife is overwhelming. Nice work as always.

I've had lots of practice Philip and that helps for sure.

Your work is impeccable. Really enjoy your attention to detail ! Maybe I will be able to produce your quality of work?
Always interesting
Delpin , Best "stanley" type knife you can buy
Bravo !!!!!!
Thank you
good job
Hi sandy, another brilliant instructional video! May I ask what thickness you generally use for sheath making?
Love watching you work Sandy, the attention to detail is very inspiring, can I ask why you twist the cord when you stitch, does it make the saddle stitch tighter, I have never tried that.
It locks the thread so it won't undo even if it breaks Shelley
To paraphrase Nathan Hale: My only regret is that I have but one like to give for this video.
Brilliant tutorial sandy have you tried water based impact adhesives ? Atb scott
Great work, what stitching forks are you using?
I tried punching through 10mm of leather, and it took so much effort to get the fork out.
👍🏻
Really good craftsmanship, better than Kydex any day
ATB Del
I never knew there was so much in it. There is so much to knife making it's not a thing to take up lightly.
Sandy can you tell me where you buy your leather please ?
Is that Fiebings Tan-Kote he is using at 13:42?
'Old School' works for me Sandy.

Why oh why are so many fantastic youtube videos ruined with dreadful music? Id much rather listen to the sound of working tools!!! Brilliant craftsmanship.
Jacklore goes to Ibiza :)
Great video! Music was a distraction so I turned off the sound, hope I didn't miss anything you might have said.
