Tim is all cool, for some crazy reason Utube decided to cut and publish my comment before I was finished! Maybe I was talking about and using that four letter word, work! Made someone uncomfortable! Anyway, casting door hardware, thats insane! As I was saying, a learnt process to install but attention to irregularities is needed because is not that easy to get right but very easy to cock up! Hats off man, one day maybe we can spend an afternoon together teaching some hot steel a lesson it wont forget! Forge on, love your work, respect, PAUL
A very well made drill guide, thanks Tim for showing us the whole process, top job as always. It was good to see how you made the mould and poured the molten aluminium. Regards from down under.
I turned out pretty damn good, pardon my overachiever excitement it's kind of nice to know there's somebody out there that likes to make something from nothing there ain't a lot of people willing to do that , but then again that's how we got here👍👍👍 excellent Tim✌
@@BIGDOGFORGE thank you! Some of the channels I really like quit posting over the past year or two, glad you decided to keep putting out videos. In my humble opinion you are top notch. I'm still planning on trying my hand at some small projects but cancer left me with little strength or stamina so it may take me a bit longer to get there. I have collected some railroad spikes and a couple plates too for material to start with. My neighbor has a small anvil he said I can use. Next I need a forge and I've watched a few build videos that seem doable. Maybe before the years over, God willing and the creek don't rise. Thanks for the inspiration! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Tim, well, what can I say! Who or what kind of a nut would even think of casting their own lock hardware, a locksmith named Tim would be one ! Its incredible to even think it could be done outside a factory thats producing thousands every day. As a former builder/carpenter I have installed thousands of doors and fitted hardware to the same number. Thats not complicated, just a process that once learnt is repeated over and over paying attention to irregularities and adjusting to
Tim, awesome job! Think you can throw up a quick vid on how you did your crucible? Or even may be type out the long answer for what you lined it with and how you treated it? Thx. Tim.
Great stuff, nice surprise to see some moldmaking done this way. So do you also make the door hardware in this kind of way, or do you just put the touchmark on? ;)
Wonderful to see you exercising your craftsmanship again. I've missed you. Thanks for making this one and is your banjo as lonesome as it looked back there behind you?
I really want you to guide me as to how to design permanent mold for TVs star lx rim. It's a rim of India design motor cycle commonly used in Africa. I will really appreciate if you can help me out with a content on the above description. Thanks

A wealth of knowledge lies in your mind!
Cool! I'm always learning some neat/nifty/practical things from your projects. I was hoping you were going to stamp them too, glad to see ya did 😎👍
great video!! Good to see you again!
Very cool project.
Nice work. Keep up educating us. Please, can I use aluminum to make a mould, instead of steel or iron?
That was a friggin awsome vid bud!

Thanks for making this one and is your banjo as lonesome as it looked back there behind you?
Thanks for watching and yes and yes I need to do a restoration on it, I just haven't taken the time But its on the list.
Nice job Tim!!!

Cool Tim I've missed your posts.
nice to see you again great vid take care R
Thanks, you too!
Would it be possible to buy a piece of your pattern welded steel for a knife?
Great job. Now you are a tool maker.
Yes, thanks
👍👍🍺
Allways wondered how well my forge would melt aluminum... need to also try copper.
That was awesome!!!
Thank you!!
Lol, I'm the same way with pennies. Nice work.
thats pretty cool!
Since you put your mark on it. Its like a patent. How much will you charge if someone wanted one. ? Please anwser.
I don't really know off the top of my head probably $175.00 ish each I would guess.
Rust also shields steel from molten aluminium. While not used every weekend, my steel crucible is now 20 years old.
I just like inventing things that makes it easier on me😁
Tim, I miss your face buddy.....be safe
Thanks and thanks for watching
Need to forge a plaque mount for the bear head you have hanging
