    Ich komme aus den Vereinigten Staaten und habe zwei Jahre in der Schweiz, Österreich und Deutschland verbracht. Der deutsche “r” ist vielleicht die schwierigste Aussprache für Amerikaner zu beherrschen. Diese Aufgabe, die Jenny zusammengestellt hat, ist die Beste für der deutsche “r”, die Ich je zuvor gesehen habe. Gut gemacht!

    • @BarelloSmith
      @BarelloSmith 6 лет назад +4

      I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or serious but as far as I'm concerned, I can clearly hear a German accent when she talks. That doesn't mean, that her English is bad - on the contrary, it is pretty good - but still, it is clearly audible where she's comming from...

    • @Mindy14
      @Mindy14 6 лет назад +14

      Barello Smith where are you from? I do not here her accent at all, sounds like the standard American English accent.

    • @BarelloSmith
      @BarelloSmith 6 лет назад

      Mindy Cope I'm from Italy, but my native language is German and I'm pretty familiar with the accents of native German speakers. I have a pretty distinguishable accent myself but it is far different than her's since my native language is a High-German dialect and her's seems to be either a Low-German one or Standard-German (which confusingly is sometimes called "High German" as well).
      Germans that are talking like her are often called "Piefke" (pronounced somewhat like: Peefke), in southern Regions of Germany and in Austria, but that is kind of an insult.

    • @BarelloSmith
      @BarelloSmith 6 лет назад +1

      Mindy Cope I have to say though, it baffles me that Americans don't seem to recognize their own accents or rather the lack thereof...

    *Be careful, in French, "R" is pronounced in two different ways, though close to each other. For example, the "R" in "jurer" does not sound same as the "R" in "pourquoi". And, as Jenny explains, it goes the same for German; the "R" in "Bremen" sounds slightly different from the "R" in "Prima" which sounds like a "CH"! Just a clarification as I notice from comments a good confusion and misinterpretation.*

      actually, the English (American) 'r' is pretty weird a sound. It's one of the latest sounds a kid learns

    i like the way you teach German versus the other person I was watching. I'm not dropping any names, but you go slower, you repeat the words, you break it down as "w" sounds like "v". stuff like that I had to figure it out on my own! it's not too much of an issue, but I wanna learn and knowing the teacher who can break it down for me and tells me there's an easier way and this is how it sounds make me feel better knowing I'm actually saying it the proper way. I don't wanna waste my time when I want to learn. I really happy I found your channel

    Yeah I don't think I'll ever be able to pronounce the "r" correctly. I'd rather have the accent.
