Great melodic playing choices, enjoyed! This I think is the overdrive pedal I’ll settle on, very nice sound. Just picked up the Strymon BigSky MX, it’ll be interesting see what they sound like together.
Love CAUSE WE ENDED AS LOVERS ...one of the very few songs I ever worked up note for note....with a turntable. Hope you are doing well, Ohayo goziemasu, Tomosan, greetings from Texas! Really like this OD!
I've got this pedal and it will NEVER leave my board. It stacks well too. I use it with an Archer and J Rockett Touch and a Fatbee and different T Rex pedals and fuzz pedals and it goes well with all of them. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's a Dumble In A Box and it rules. It goes from John Mayer to Larry Carlton.
I just bought one. When I turn it on, the volume pops up and I have to control with the volume pot of the guitar, otherwise my guitar goes so loud, even with the knob level of the pedal at almost minimum. Does yours function like these?

@@marcelomiranda1081 you may have bought one from the Version 1 series. Version 2 was tamed a bit on the output. But even version 1 allowed you to bring the level down. It’s also a bit pokey EQwise, so it may just be a perceived volume bump 🤷♂️ That was my experience anyway
Thank you for the great demonstration. I really like my Dude pedal as well. It really stacks nicely with Archer and or with my Lightspeed pedal. I can’t remember where you said, “If you have melody, you have audience “ If you were to put that quote on a tee shirt signed with Tomo, I think you could sell more than a few of them.
I would bet that this is a Strat style room. Most of us are probably playing singles. The Dude adds a ton of midrange "glow." I'm gonna call it "glow."
Owned a DUDE pedal since 2016. I will own it until 3016 if I live that long. It will still sound amazing then too,I'm sure. One of the few pedals to truly sound as good as the amp it seeks to emulate and replicate. There are many videos that demonstrate a DUDE pedal against an actual Dumble. Save yourself $100,000 and buy one.
I just bought one of these. Mine is the version 2, with white knobs. When I turn it on, the volume pops up and I have to control with the volume pot of the guitar, otherwise my guitar goes so loud, even with the knob level of the pedal at almost minimum. Does yours function like these?
Totally cool the way you bend open notes…on other side of the nut..!👍🏼.. Thanks for the new trick..! Also.. I’m thinking about putting Strat pickups on my Tele… not sure yet…Maybe just get the Dude instead.. and hear what that sounds like..much cheaper than new pickups and install..!
Tomo buddy, I picked up a standard Vemuram Jan ray in Tokyo years back. I saw the dude all around the shops and the Jan Ray, obviously I choose Jan Ray. How do they compare ? Worth stacking or adding to Jan Ray with the dude ? Thanks ❤

Great video Tomo! Maybe you can do a demo of the MXR Raw Dawg. i'm curious on what's your thoughts on it considering you know the TS style pedal so much. Keep inspiring us!
The problem is, I want to buy every pedal you Demo ! You really explore all the features. But I have to always remember, I think you could probably make a tin can and a string sound good if you could plug it in. 😆😅😂 😎 ...........🎶🎵🎶
Obviously, The Dude abides!
Great demo! Thank you, Tomo 🙏
Yes! Thank you!
He does indeed.
this is my favorite demo of this pedal. real, honest recording sound. varied playing. not just shredding.
Thanks so much!
yes we love you so much Tomo !
Thanks so much!
Great pedal indeed, Tomo. Proud owner here and its a true keeper. Dude will never leave my pedalboard.
Yes! Thanks!

Thank you so much! Cool! Thank you for sharing!
I am so glad that JR changed the knobs (as I suggested) - I can see your setup. Thanks for a nice demo.
Thank you!

Do you have it before or after the Archer?

Really helpful that you tell us what the amp volume is too! Puts it into perspective. Thanks for your content
Glad it was helpful! You're welcome!
I have one and it’s great. Supposedly replicates a Dumble amp… but I guess I will never know for sure
Awesome! Good feeling pedal!

You're very welcome! My pleasure! Thank you for sharing! No melody, no audiences! Thank you so much!
I've got one! My favorite drive pedal. So smooth
Awesome!!
I could tell by your playing you very much like this pedal :) great sound!
Glad you enjoy it!
Dude sounds good Mr Fujita, thank you for the Demo😊
Thank you! I really liked this!
Sounds great Sensei, that guitar sounds great as well…
Thank you!
Duuuude - you’re awesome
Thank you!
Tomo. Great pedal but didn't pair with my 1958 tweed super amp (28watt 2x10). You have any recommendations for an od for tweed amp?
Old amp... straight is the best.

So great to hear that! A few students of mine are using it too.

Thanks for sharing! I never compared with this pedal. Each unique thing! My Jan Ray For TF is really different from a standard Jan Ray.
Tomo what are your thoughts on plugins and amp simulators !?
I am not really interested in....Once I asked same question to John Mayer. He said "Don't worry about it"
@@TomoFujitaMusic that is pretty straight forward ! Thanks 🙏🏽
Great tone. What amp are you using? The Dude v2 sounds better than v1.
Thank you!

That’s a really clean Floyd Rose conversion. Makes me less scared about getting one.

Great suggestion! Thank you!
Oh, I see there are two versions of this pedal (version 1 and version 2... very creative) Do you know which one this is? Thank you!!
Not that I know of
Sir is there a way to get thin bright Japanese instrument 'Koto' kind of sound. I hv seen some guitarist do including eric Johnson and Mikio Fujioka .
Pick the strings near the bridge!
Nice tone
Thank you!
I have yet to buy pedals but that is one sweet overdrive
Thank you!
what are the four holes on the headstock all about? string trees?
Looks like the holes from a now-removed Floyd Rose-style nut/clamp
That's from a Kehler system
I really love the look of that guitar, do you know what color it is exactly?
Banana Yellow
Mustard Yellow
Sounds like if you had a little more amp volume, you’d get some really nice feedback. Good vid and great playing.
Yes! I should have more volume from my amp! Thanks!

Lovely playing and informative - thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
The world wants to know how many guitars does Tomo own.
Actually I would like to know!
The correct answer is "all of them" ...
I like the name hahaha
Thank you!
The Dude abides!!
Makes the guitar sound sort of angry.
Oh!
I would say smooth not angry, ask Charlie 😊
First
2nd! Good job!
