Impressive what the BBC and the Belgian tv company could achieve on what must have been a tight budget back in the day. Heavy reliance on acting abilities and quality scripting. This was a great series.
Secret Army' was made during a period when inflation was very high in the UK and making Secret Army would have been very costly as there was plenty of location filming. That said, the BBC and RTB did a very good job.

Thanks Gary, glad you liked this one. It's actually from a BBC TV programme that ran for 3 series (1977-1979) called 'Secret Army', about a Brussels café and its staff who help downed RAF aircrew escape the clutches of the Nazis - and very good it was too. This was from series 3, an episode titled 'Just Light The Blue Touch Paper', broadcast on 10th November 1979. Did this show not make it to Holland?
Brilliant series. I know some people have said to me it's a bit slow, not much 'action.' But I've said to them that's how it was really like for Lifeline. The constant worry of Kessler finding out, the tension for everyone. And then when there is action/shooting it suddenly takes - me, anyway - almost by surprise and is very dramatic. I'd recommend if anyone is interested: Sandbaggers - espionage series early-'80s. About 20 episodes, just about all, I think, in full on RUclips.
Sadly today they have to have car chases and gunfights all over to keep interested, but as you say this was more what working for escape lines was like (the series, not this scene in particular). And to think it used to be shown on BBC-1 on Saturday evenings. Now all we get is crap like 'The Voice' or 'Dancing On Ice'.

The action in these shows often goes by in a blur is the reason. If you don't want to watch the slo-mo replays they're at the end so it's easy to ignore them.
