About my grandfather, if he is still alive, he no longer speaks and sees little because he is 96 years old. That is a lot of years for someone who lived those months as a soldier in Germany, but when I can visit him I will try to teach him this. The part in the series without knowing much English, I shouldn't look for photos either. I must also ask about some other men from the town who also produced this gem, thank you very much
Hello again friend, I hope I don't bother you. Yesterday I was able to visit my grandfather and show him the video. He was able to confirm 100% that it was him. He even has a goto with two other soldier extras in a laboratory of the series. I didn't know that. Well, thanks for helping me. friend 😊👍🏻 (I also showed it to my son, he likes it and I've already seen him fucking around a little on the channel 😂)
Hello, you don't bother me at all, far from it 🧡! That is great it is your grandfather and he remembers so much about it. It's so cool that he has the memories and can share them and I'm glad you were able to see him, and your own son too! Awesome!
@@AlderBacker No, I don't get upset at all and I am just pleased to hear from someone related to someone who appeared in one of my videos. How cool is that?!

6:18 It doesn't look very good but I'm sure it's the one. Elberth Backet was born in 1926. If it was in '68, he would be about 37-38 years old. He looked very strong. That makes me happy and sentimental. Haha, he appeared in more chapters, but I have no other clue about those than that there was a train station or that there were people who smoked. near a cabin, he remembers that well because the first time he did it I had to ask him for more clues
@@AlderBacker If he was born in 1926 and this was made in 1967/68 he would have been 41 or 42? This guy in the video looks a bit younger but perhaps he was a lucky guy who looked younger than he was? I really hope it is him as that would be a nice memento of him for you. I recognise this man because I think he does appear in other episodes, and also possibly 'Combat' and 'The Rat Patrol', which were all made around the same time (1962 - 1968) and the extras who played German soldiers were often in multiple episodes. The actor Paul Busch for instance was in over 20 episodes of 'Combat'!
@@foreverblueclassicsThey did not kill the firefighters or the soldiers in the mine either, something happens to them to have so much mercy in this chapter
There's a good chance of that mate! 'Garrison's Gorilla's' was another ABC series, filmed in the same locations and many of the extras playing Germans appeared in both shows. I think 'Garrison's' was 'Combat's' replacement when that show was cancelled in 1967.
A great start with the shooting. The Germans haven't done very well in the shooting practice. But they paid better attention in falling down classes. Like the guy falling of the truck and the one that only falls over the side (at 1:59). My favorite was the one getting stabbed at 6:23. The other one getting killed by a knife at 8:14 had a nice end too. The stripped firemen at 9:18 had very nice underwear. Seems like part of the uniform as they were wearing all the same. Thank you for another fine edit, and without the 15 minute limit :-)
Thanks Gary, glad you enjoyed it. This episode got back to form with some nice kills, with my favourite probably being the one at 3:00. Believe it or not 6:23 isn't stabbed! No, one punch from Garrison and he's gone to the great rally ground in the sky lol. And yes, a bit odd that the firemen even wore the same colour of underwear - that's taking uniform regulations a bit far!!!! Thanks again for the comment, and yes - it is so much of a relief not to have the 15 minute limit anymore :-)
foreverblueclassics Your favorite is the German in the bushes :-) Checked again about that one at 6:23 and there is indeed no knife. Seems that the German isn't completely out as he legs move from being spread at 6:23 to nice lined at 6:57. Maybe that color of underwear was on sale that time of the year. They all went shopping at the same outlet. Special offer: 4 for the price of 3. Lucky you for having no limits anymore, time wise that is :-)
Gary J Yes, the one in the bushes - he shows true grit before dying. They're all good kills though, and I could have picked any of them as a favourite. You just may be right about the 'fire sale' lol.
@@foreverblueclassics I agree with you. :-) The man in the bushes at 3:00 is brave. But unfortunately, his shooting is not equal to his grit, his gun failed to shot any enemy before dying. And also I like the one at 1:30. He has a nice expression. He grabbed the side of the truck and tried to stop himself falling. It was evident that his efforts had failed, and got a nice fall position.
