Great song. What a voice. Deserves to win. You stopped it a little too soon. You missed a wonderful finale sung acapella. Also has poetic lyrics inspired by Greek folk song motifs with ships, birds, the sea. Since I'm Greek I'll translate. Here goes:

It is a somg about grieving, it can't have a more lively presentation on stage. It is a dialogue between a dead kid and their mother. It also translates as a dialogue between the refugees and their motherland (since Klavdia is Pontiac and it talks about the slaughtering of Pontiacs from Turks in 1922).
Just a hint of the lyrics @SeanDoonan ... the song is a latiment song, a dirge . The swallows of fire even if they cross the seas the soil of their roots they will never forget... Μy little Star-eyed one lean so I can kiss you so in your holy tears I can quench my lips...
What's to understand? Even if it is talking about the most dramatic thing in the universe, both choreography and direction were so bad in contrast to the excellent song and dynamic vocals
The choreography was a representation of all the victims of the genocide, or just a representation of a mother mourning her dead child, hence the dress in shape of umbilical cord. Metaphorically it is also mother Greece mourning the lost lands and life and people there.
The staging is gonna be completely different (no money to waste on national finals). However you should all check out the English lyrics to understand why the goosebumps and the gravity of this masterpiece!
Lyrics:My sweet mother, don't you cry to me Even if they put black on you My faded body By flames is not defeated The swallows of fire Even if the cross seas The soils of rhizome They never forget My Starry-Eyed Girl, little girl Lean so I can kiss you So in your holy tears My lips I can extinguish My Starry-Eyed Girl, little girl Lean to me so I can catch you My forgotten wings In my last moments to rest Ah, my star, my jewell My sweet mother, don't you cry to me A boat is my life That looks for the way back The wind my sail My Starry-Eyed Girl, little girl Lean to me so I can catch you My forgotten wings In my last moments to rest Ah, my star, my jewell Ah, my star, my jewell
Are you sure? She stays still due to respect. Hopefully the dancers will do something They forming the circle, along with her dress, of life to death at the end
The reaction videos on this song seem to be unanimous.😍 Yet really "good" songs are regularly overlooked (thanks to politics) . Let's hope Klavdia manages to get to the finishing line, despite that 🤞❤️🇬🇷
The lyrics of "Asteromata" are deeply tied to a historical tragedy-the genocide and forced displacement of the Pontic Greeks by the Ottoman Empire during the early 20th century. This tragic chapter in history, often referred to as the Pontic Greek Genocide, occurred between 1914 and 1923, during which an estimated 350,000 Pontic Greeks lost their lives due to massacres, forced deportations, death marches, and systematic persecution under the Young Turk regime and later the Kemalist forces.
Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷 and thank you so much from Greece 🇬🇷! This song is talking about the pain and suffering and pain of immigration in my country and the genocide in Pontia in 19th May 1919 to the Pontiac Greeks, when the Turks killed 365.000 Pontiac Greek people and many other were refugees
She talks about the pain of someone who must leave his country. A dialogue between a mother and her daughter. The mother is the homeland and the daughter the refugee. The singer is from a family of Greek refugees.
I’ll tell you exactly what’s wrong with the staging. Fokas Evangelinos is a relic of a man that ERT is still obsessed with him and keeps utilizing him because his stagings won a couple of times in Eurovision in the 2000s (in 2005 and 2008). Yet the way he directs is very outdated and all Greek euro fans have been saying that to no avail. That’s how things work in Greece. If you’re connected, you can stay in the same position for ever, no matter your actual performance. I really hope Klavdia and panic records higher a true professional for Basel this year such as Sergio Jaén, to really transform this performance and elevate it to its true potential.
We really hope that the song will be elevated with better staging....it is really difficult when you have such a voice not be able to support it in such way so as to elaborate the voice and not the opposite. The organisers must find the golden rule!! Good luck Klavdia!!
The mother cries to kiss her beloved lost daughter from the slaughters from the barbaric invasions in our homelands mainly genocides across history, and the daughter soothes her pain. It speaks about generational traumas the cord umbilical generations of mothers and children crying... in short no one really dies!!! Thanks so much for your lovely reaction!!!!
I believe they keep the stage thing a secret til the official competition. They just wanted people to concentrate on her and the song first. Mark my words ;)

You have to understand the meaning of the song to appreciate the choreography.
What's to understand? Even if it is talking about the most dramatic thing in the universe, both choreography and direction were so bad in contrast to the excellent song and dynamic vocals
@TMPOUZI if you have brains then you can see the meaning.
If you're uncultured then you dont!!
Its all about education
The choreography was a representation of all the victims of the genocide, or just a representation of a mother mourning her dead child, hence the dress in shape of umbilical cord. Metaphorically it is also mother Greece mourning the lost lands and life and people there.
The staging is gonna be completely different (no money to waste on national finals). However you should all check out the English lyrics to understand why the goosebumps and the gravity of this masterpiece!
Yeah she said that she didn't want to waste more effort for the national final , and she will keep all the power for the Eurocontest
@ it’s not up to her! The production and the organisation gives the budget. Klavdia goes maximum effort in every appearance.
We need voices to Eurovision not actors and staging effects.
THIS ENTRY IS EUROVISION!!!!!!!
Thank you from Greece
God bless you 🙏
The staging will be completely different at the final! to this heavenly song..I am so excitied to hear it up there.😍
Lyrics:My sweet mother, don't you cry to me
Even if they put black on you
My faded body
By flames is not defeated
The swallows of fire
Even if the cross seas
The soils of rhizome
They never forget
My Starry-Eyed Girl, little girl
Lean so I can kiss you
So in your holy tears
My lips I can extinguish
My Starry-Eyed Girl, little girl
Lean to me so I can catch you
My forgotten wings
In my last moments to rest
Ah, my star, my jewell
My sweet mother, don't you cry to me
A boat is my life
That looks for the way back
The wind my sail
My Starry-Eyed Girl, little girl
Lean to me so I can catch you
My forgotten wings
In my last moments to rest
Ah, my star, my jewell
Ah, my star, my jewell
Nice
the staging is going to be totally different
let's hope so, because this was so bad
Are you sure?
She stays still due to respect.
Hopefully the dancers will do something
They forming the circle, along with her dress, of life to death at the end
@ yes, she was asked, and she said it is going to be different
The reaction videos on this song seem to be unanimous.😍 Yet really "good" songs are regularly overlooked (thanks to politics) . Let's hope Klavdia manages to get to the finishing line, despite that 🤞❤️🇬🇷
The lyrics of "Asteromata" are deeply tied to a historical tragedy-the genocide and forced displacement of the Pontic Greeks by the Ottoman Empire during the early 20th century. This tragic chapter in history, often referred to as the Pontic Greek Genocide, occurred between 1914 and 1923, during which an estimated 350,000 Pontic Greeks lost their lives due to massacres, forced deportations, death marches, and systematic persecution under the Young Turk regime and later the Kemalist forces.
fcin amazing beautiful song
SO TRUE
"Relic of a man." 😂😂😂😂😂😂👍 This guy has been around forever - since fire was "invented"😮🙄🤷♀️
Yes yes..thank you! Somebody said it!!enough with fokas
We really hope that the song will be elevated with better staging....it is really difficult when you have such a voice not be able to support it in such way so as to elaborate the voice and not the opposite. The organisers must find the golden rule!! Good luck Klavdia!!
💖💖
The mother cries to kiss her beloved lost daughter from the slaughters from the barbaric invasions in our homelands mainly genocides across history, and the daughter soothes her pain. It speaks about generational traumas the cord umbilical generations of mothers and children crying... in short no one really dies!!! Thanks so much for your lovely reaction!!!!
she is the new Nana Mouschouri, she looks alike her
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We agree about the staging. It was a low budget botch. I seriously hope they take care of it for the EV finals.
Staging will be different in Eurovision. This was just for the Greek final
The song is an anthem for missing homeland as a refugee , the mother that cries for missing her child which forced to leave her and she griefs...
I hate the staging too.......
I believe they keep the stage thing a secret til the official competition. They just wanted people to concentrate on her and the song first. Mark my words ;)
the staging will be different. god please help them do a nice job
