    I have hated the Ravens for many, many years, and have learned this: The drafts you think they've done the worst in, are the drafts they've done the best in.

    Broderick Jones didnt struggle his rookie year. Once he was plugged in the starting lineup the Steelers ranked 2nd in the league in rushing...only behind the Ravens.

  • @CaptCKernel
    @CaptCKernel 17 дней назад +1

    They declined the 5th year option on fields because its 25mil guaranteed. Simple as that.
    If he comes in during the season and does well, the incentives are the stay in Pittsburgh rather than go elsewhere. If he doesnt play the season, they can still attempt to resign to a jordan love type deal.
    Realistically, the surprise move was Najee's option not being picked up.

      They should’ve picked up Najee option

    • @CaptCKernel
      @CaptCKernel 16 дней назад

      @@alex.p2194 I'm torn...I like Najee but the best thing to do is find cheap options at certain position groups to extend players of other groups.
      I think you look at value more than output at the RB position. As of today, the Steelers spend 2.8% of their salary cap on that position group. That allows them to spend more in other areas, and Warren has shown you don't need to spend a first round pick on a RB.
      I think Najee had the potential to be a QB-level locker room leader and was seen as the one to transition from Ben to the next QB...Najee did seem disinterested in that...I don't envision him resigning with Pittsburgh and I think the decision will be mutually beneficial.

      @@CaptCKernel sure but they definitely could have made even more money they have now to pay him. Really isnt that much for the situation he been playin, hope Najee have a great szn and get what he deserves

      @@alex.p2194 I also want him to have a great season, I want him to get a 10mil per year contract...it's just not going to be in Pittsburgh, imo. I think that's for the best.
      When you look at our salary situation, we have so much space next year and plenty of things to shore up. I think Khan did a great job in signings/resigning/drafts to be able to hit a reset button, if needed, instead of hitting purgatory. Good chance Daniels gets resigned and Semolu gets traded or cut next off-season to make room for McCormick, Dan Moore is maybe traded as early as this off-season similar to Dotson/Green. We have the ability to move on from either Roberts and/or Holcomb, Highsmith has already been restructured...they really do have the ability to resign who they want, move on from who they don't, and have (at least to me, on paper) zero bad contracts. That's...kinda extraordinary in today's NFL

    Probably the best division in football, consistently, for over a decade or 2 now. Some teams might be down, but more often than not every team is a tough loss

    • @ZacheryZimmerman-uk4ti
      @ZacheryZimmerman-uk4ti День назад

      @ultimatechickenhorsesweat2614 Just so you know, if Fields was playing instead of Kenny last year... we lose most of those games. Kenny didn't turn the ball over. If he turned the ball over we lose all the games we won by 1 score. We lost to the Patriots by 3 because Mitch threw an INT and allowed an easy touchdown for the Patriots. Not saying Pickett is better than Fields...just saying if you take all the games we won close and had Fields with all his turnovers last year...we lose more often than not. Pickett had game winning drives and didn't turn the ball over in one possession games. Any turnover would result in a loss....Fields did that a lot with the Bears.

    watching media people like Rose try to do the mental gymnastics to defend Fields instead of just realizing he's really not that good is hilarious.
