  • Lexus LX570, GX460, GX470, and Nissan Xterra V8 with a Titan V8 swap take on Peters Mill Run. An easy trail in VA with some optional areas. Half the group were first timers, so it was a great beginner trail. Filmed on iPhone 13 Pro Max.

    The LX570 owner is the hero of that day. Bone stock with just upgraded rims and rubber and he did everything they did with cold drinks in the armrest and movies in the back.

      @@mgtowalfa508 Agreed, and that's exactly why I own a 2013 LX570. I prefer the old style hand brake and front end before the 2016 redesign but they're all the same guts since 2008. If it ain't broke.. then it's probably a Toyota/Lexus. I'm also experienced enough to not require driving assistance features, and most are just annoying...Start and Stop engines.. FOR THE LOVE OF GAHD!!! The only thing that can compare is a Range, however when the reliability is questionable then the luxury factor is lost. I would never take my LX off-road like that but it's comforting to know that I could. For me it's about going over parking blocks, conquering snow, or a pothole laden commute... But I imagine I'm in the Aussie Outback or carving up some dunes in the Middle East.. or maybe saving diplomats with the UN.

      The one gx470 was pretty much stock. I’ve done the same trail before in my gx470 on just 265/70/17’s, it’s not a tough trail. The silver gx460 had one size up upsized tires I believe. All of them are very capable fresh from the factory.

    have you got a 265/70R17 stuffed up under the 460?

    • @valdaviper1
      @valdaviper1  Год назад

      So I didn’t have an extra 17” as OEM is 18” wheel, so I upsized the OEM spare to 265/65/18 which is the same diameter as 265/70/17. That would be the largest that would fit with my OEM hitch also. Since this video I’ve also upgraded all around to 285/70/17’s and now carry that spare on an extra 17” wheel inside the trunk strapped vertically.

    Did you have to modify the KDSS on the 460?

    • @valdaviper1
      @valdaviper1  Год назад +1

      I didn't have to do anything to KDSS. I think if it was a larger lift I would. This weekend I installed 285/70's on the same wheels and still no issues with KDSS.

      @@valdaviper1 thank you. How about rubbing on those new tires? Any noticeable performance difference between the smaller tires?

    • @valdaviper1
      @valdaviper1  Год назад +1

      @@Ill06Taco To be honest I haven't driven much on it, but shop inflated them to 35 psi cold and they're stiffer than the previous 265/70's. As my main goal was to soften the ride using more sidewall, I am so far not very happy with them. I am going to see if I can run them at 30-33 psi safely and can get back to you. They are heavier and louder on the highway too, so tbh I'm kind of regretting the decision. The closest trial within 2 hours of me is the one in the video, and stock height would have been fine on it. It does look badass though lol.

    The "trail" shown at the 12 minute mark is no longer accessible it is all blocked off by a field of boulders. No access is there. LOTS of boulders this really pissed off the park service as it was "off trail riding"
