    Juana de Arco una campesina que como el resto de su clase tenía que soportar todo tipo de abusos por parte de extraños y también de los propios. En un ambiente de fanatismo religioso se creyó unas cuantas cosas y logro levantar el espíritu de lucha de los galos.En definitiva estar lejos de la realidad siempre termina mal y la vida lo demostró rápidamente .La nobleza francesa no podía soportar a una campesina convertida en heroína y la entregaron al enemigo,mientras el rey tampoco hizo nada por ella.
    Se dice que la violaron varias veces ya que una doncella no podía ser ejecutada y fue quemada viva realmente. Se acostumbraba a estrangular primero a la víctima y quemarla después,pero su pira era muy alta y obviaron el primer paso. ¿Santa?,una ficción,sim plemente un ser humano valiente e ingenuo .

    Although the battle scenes were exciting, they also had a lot of ridiculous nonsense. One scene actually shows Joan punching out an armored English soldier with her bare hand (LOL) and then drawing her sword, although the historical Joan of Arc said she didn't fight at all: during the fourth session of her trial (27 February 1431) she said “during assaults I carried the banner, so as to stay out of any killing; and I have never killed anyone.” Giving Joan a modern haircut (no , that's not what it would've looked like) is also fictional, and makes her look like Leonardo DiCaprio in stark contrast to the eyewitness accounts which say she was "beautiful and shapely" and similar comments.

    • @brahilly
      @brahilly Год назад +2

      Regret I didn't see and respond to your comment in a more timely manner.
      I agree with you on some of the "ridiculous nonesense", but "god is in the details" as they say. Joan did have short hair, but it certainly wasn't blonde and she didn't cut it off herself. Her "dark" hair was cut short by Catherine Le Royer in the town of Vaucouleurs in present day Lorraine.
      The quote you gave, where she alledgely says she carried her banner so as to avoid killing anyone, is correct, but it has to be seen in context. After all, she was being tried for her life. But there's another angle to this. Even if one were to accept it, it still doesn't mean her actions never killed anyone just as it would be meaninglless to assert that "Supreme Allied Commander", General Dwight Eisenhower, never killed anyone either. Eariler historians let their chauvinsit attitudes diminish her direct military role to that of cheerleading. The primary source materials show that Joan was wounded many times, at least twice with crossbow bolts. In addition, court transcripts of her military colleagues, including that of the Duke of Alencon, the appointed leader of the Dauphin"s army, who said she comported herself like a wise and gifted military commander with decades of experience.

    • @actadiurna6733
      @actadiurna6733 Год назад +1

      @@brahilly Many eyewitness accounts also say she carried her banner in battle, and none of them (to my knowledge) describe her fighting. She was shot from a distance, not in hand-to-hand combat. The Duke of Alencon said she was good at either ordering the placement of artillery or getting the soldiers to do it promptly (the wording is vague), which isn't fighting no matter how you interpret it. Her hair wasn't a modern crewcut, and is unlikely to have been as short as the (unreliable) trial transcript claims since she couldn't have kept it that short during a year in prison. I don't know of any reliable source which would indicate the length, but it isn't likely to have been the really short "pudding basin" style since that would require frequent shaving of the temples and back of the neck.

      Read the transcript of the trial of rehabilitation, the second trial where many of her commrades in arms spoke about her actions in battle. Yes, she didn't engage in hand to hand combat, but, as I said earlier, neither did Dwight Eisenhower nor Douglas MacArthur fight yet I've never heard of anyone saying that they were not fighters. Jeanne's actions led to the deaths of thousands of Englishmen.

    • @actadiurna6733
      @actadiurna6733 Год назад

      @@brahilly I have read the Rehabilitation trial transcript, in fact I mentioned something from the Duke of Alencon's testimony in the same note that you're replying to. What the Rehabilitation witnesses describe is : 1) initially the commanders didn't even tell her what they were planning (she almost missed the attack against St Loup on 4 May 1429 because they didn't tell her about it); 2) she carried her banner in battle; 3) she gave advice to the commanders which included tactics which some of them (e.g. the Count of Dunois) described as better than what "two or three of the most experienced commanders" could produce, but they didn't provide any details and the same eyewitnesses said they believed that her advice was due to her religious visions (in fact they also said she could predict the future). Since you agree that she didn't personally engage in combat, I have no idea why exactly you disagree with me or why you think the Rehabilitation witnesses contradict anything I've said since you agree on the essential point I was making.

      About nine years ago I had an inexplicable experience upon reading an historical biography of the French Saint. Yet I found out later that I wasn't alone as it seems thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of people also have been deeply touched by the story of this extraordinarily unique person.
      I’m the son of a WWII combatant, but I've never served in the armed forces. However, the American author and historian, Stephen Richey, has. He’s a graduate of West Point and served four tours of duty in Iraq. Richey wrote a book, Joan of Arc the Warrior Saint (Praeger publication, 2003) about Joan of Arc in an effort to describe her as seen through the eyes of a military man. I encourage you to get a copy and perhaps you will understand what her significance was for the fighting men of that era.
      In his book Richey writes (pg. 109):
      “The qualities that the members of a warrior elite demand in a new member are physical prowess, a willingness to cheerfully endure harsh living conditions, and, above all, physical courage of a sublime degree, which entails, among other things, carrying on in one's duties heedless of one's own wounds. All these qualities must be conspicuously displayed. Given Joan's triple handicap of her youth, social class, and sex, she had to display these qualities in awesome measure to win acceptance. As her warrior comrades testified in the retrial, she passed all these tests in grand fashion.”

      Во время осады города она вышла с группой, но когда захотела вернуться вместе с остальными, порты слишком рано закрылись и она попала в плен к бургундцам. Бургундцы - французская фракция, союзная англичанам во время гражданской войны. Затем Жанну продали англичанам, которые сочли ее еретичкой.

      Жанна была полностью вовлечена в свою миссию по освобождению Франции.Она не понимала выжидательной позиции короля Франции, который однажды коронованный предпочел вести переговоры, чтобы вдохнуть жизнь в страну, изнуренную десятилетиями войны.
      Бургундцы продали Жанну за деньги, а англичане хотели, чтобы суд разрушил образ Божьего посланника, что укрепило короля Карла VII в его притязаниях как монарха «Божественного права», что гарантировало ему поддержку народа.
