I love that realme kept the headphone Jack. And the realme GT lives up to the GT title in terms of speed. But the design of the phone is nothing to write home about. And for me that smaller screen is a, bit of let down. Also clearly Realme is taking the Samsung approach and throttling the 888 to manage the heat.

Speaker depends on preference. Both are good, just tuned differently. Realme has more low-end bass and feels thumpy. Redmi has clearer mid tones and higher loudness.

Wish you would zoom in to pixel level on the proper landscape photos so we can see the actual quality of them rather than doing it only on throwaway nearfield photos. Anyway, grump over, great job on all these new phones as usual.

Finally a smaller phone with great screen and performance. I really don't care about the design. If it's functional it's OK. Just want to know a bit more about the camera performance. I don't play games but need a good photo now and then. For my purpose the drop in Antutu is not an issue. What about band 20 because important here in Europe. I have the Poco F2pro, just find it just too large for the 1 hand use and heavy to in my pocket and hand.

2:55 99% of the time I'm looking at my phone, I'm looking at the display, so a good screen/edges design will give the best experience. For example, the iPhone 12 design makes it the worst phone to hold and the screen has a big weird notch. Realme and Redmi really seem to care about screen/edges design.

Headphone jack is great for playing games continuously for hours
It's a shame that they didn't put it at the top.
Realme has done a very interesting approach with this phone to ensure the SD888 chip ran in a comfort temps, but I do agree with the design, it's quite lackcluster. But sure, this phone is a solid flagship with one feature that people like me really want; a headphone jack!
And yes, this display size is definitely a comfort zone for people with smaller hands!

Like u said what a beast but u wish there was more.... So what would u suggest that is similar in performance but better in other areas while maintaining same price range? Ideally better camera and video options without sacrificing a lot of performance... or cost a heck of a lot more. But doesn't have to be the best camera either. Willing to spend a little more money but not a lot... Not to stressed about battery life or the feel in your hand but wouldn't be willing to have a worse display. Ideally would like a better display as well. I don't care if the device gets hot either. But don't want to burn my hand Lol... Any suggestions? 🤔 Want to keep similar performance level on call of duty as well. BASICALLY looking for the ideal sweet spot phone. Thanks for the advice.

Looks like all the power in the SD888 is just for fooling benchmarks with a great first run. Subsequent runs and we see the real-life intensive use case for this chip and it either burns hot or is thermally throttled. I think SoC in phones have reached a point where active cooling is needed otherwise further performance improvements will just be for bragging rights as throttling will be the end result.
Most of us never push our phones so hard but if we are to see the continued advancement in mobile chips then we will face tablets and ARM laptops not getting the benefit of these mobile upgrades. Even Apple has admitted that active cooling is needed and although the next iPhone may not have one, it will be here by 2022.
As for the Realme GT, it seems great value at the price if you remember all the hype and hyperbole the Pixel 4a got at a similar price, I know which one I would buy and it ain't going to be the Pixel!

Yes bro that may be a concern. I find Realme UI a bit bland but it does have a tendency to run smoother and faster than MIUI

Negative to come on our land. Realme in PH only do aggressive marketing to sell phones and not to sell Flagship phones from Realme, if ever they release it, its late (Ehem Realme X3 Superzoom) big disappointment.
Realme just only sell their midrange phones in the physical store. It was only they released realme superzoom but sd 865 is already around. Lately, they released x50 pro 5g but again sd 888 has already began. Worst, its only available in smart signature plan. So dont expect that will come in the Ph, unless you will buy it online.

Hmmm... From what I can concur from these results and based it to the k40 pros intial testing. The is already a clear difference in cooling from one another. The Redmi can sustain a higher TDP than the GT and as a result it can sustain more heavier loads. The cooling system is better on the Redmi. 12GB of ram is simply not being used efficiently. Its a waste, thats why going the 8/128gb gt is more preferable but if I were you go for the k40 pro. but that 3.5mm jack is pretty useful.
