I love rate my Oche, do feel like tho it’s going down the sports hall/bar venue type rather than the typical pub darts venue, be nice to visit some old school pubs where you play your weekday darts league stuff
Top podcast again, look forward to these every monday when I'm back at work. Keep up the good work. I think a interesting point even a short video about how much alcohol is used off stage nowdays because thats something rarely talked about these days but do players still drink before playing?
Of course he not at his peak. The scary bit is he is still learning. So imagine when he does hit his peak! With Humphries playing fantastic darts too and others coming through is a fabulous time to watch and savour this time in darts.
Why do you think he's definitely not at his peak? He's got no responsibilities and absolute freedom, and people tend to forget that he's been playing longer than some of the guys on tour. He's also hit nearly every ambition he could have had within his first year on tour. The motivation to practice and hunger for winning has to stay there, and the pressure on him isn't going to help. There's a reason why all the pros keep telling the media to 'leave him alone'.
You don’t know that he isn’t at his peak. We have yet to see how he kicks on after winning the worlds too. Media attention is off the scale and he’s getting asked to do a lot of other things away from darts now, his head could be turned with all that stuff. If he takes his eye off the ball there are other guys that can beat him
a video on how to release earlier? now i understand, "just do it" and "this is where you release at" but i think it cuts deeper, something to focus on, a "feel" of when its right. maybe to break a bad habit of a late release
2024 was a year for big performances lots of younger players putting in massive averages and this lad Jurjen van der Velde has to be one to watch out for
I’ve got a few ideas: - I agree that Q-School should have seeds but for Stage Two with the seeds starting from the players who have lost their tour cards and then if there not enough players to fill the seeded spots then it would be Challenge Tour players. - I think it should also be always 128 players in stage two with the next ranked player from the stage one order of merit being called up to take that place. - I think that there should be more Tour Card places from the Challenge Tour
I agree with all that but I've mess around with it even more: on Day 1 seed them as you say, random draw day 2, strict rank 1-128 on Day 3 based on highest averages then Day 4 rank them based on current standings in Order of Merit - replacing those that already have tour cards like Beadley Brooks
Matt what do you think of the idea Nicholson came up with, the Royal Rumble of darts? Do you think MVG may never get back to his best because his throw has changed drastically from looking at pics from 2018 to now? Point looks like it’s facing the floor on pall back
Any chance you get any of the current players on for a podcast? I understand you could only get the Mission lads on but I think it’d be great if you could get some of the lads on for a episode to chat about their experiences and tips for upcoming players.
Great show. Don't have a separate channel for stories. Going off in a tangent with a story is what makes these podcasts different. You'll lose something as you'll both avoid telling a story and save it for the other channel which will diminish this one. As for prem league, I think the choices are aimed at TV audiences and not because of a walk on song played to an already sold out venue. Insta, Snapchat, tik tok followers are what they are aiming for
I followed Q school, and think it's perfect as it is. Average doesn't say all, you only have to trow as good as is needed to win, why is 100+ needed against a 70 average? If you in 4 days can't take enough points, it's on you imo. If you are 100+ average darter, you should win a day and not cry about being out because loosing a game while a other with lower score goes on. They have 4 days for g'd sake.
And on the 65 place should have some privilege is just stupid imo. Because they have the privilege of being experienced against the amateur. The amateur shouldn't given more disadvantage besides experience imo.
What it makes boring is not the same players every week - that was always the case. It's watching the same matches all the time, sometimes four weeks in a row. This way it becomes total meaningless for hardcore darts fans.
There's a young guy who's a man united fan where the Manchester arena is pretty much his home venue... luke littler. Asp should change his song to something else to prove its not about the walk on song 😂😂😂
Aspinal in cause hes from Manchester? Luke Littler is from Warrington and is a United fan so I think they already ticked that box there. But I agree that it was probably down to his popularity rather than his performances this year. Great podcast though guys enjoing the content
It's just a matter of time before Luke Littler has tournament that he completes a set play match with only 4 visits to the board for each leg. Because he looks so comfortable on stage and the big thing is he actually learned from his defeat in his first world final. Great content again lads
Aspinal, as good as he is, definitely didnt deserve to be in the premier league after his dismal performance last year. If you want a player just for entertainment value, then Ricky Evans is certainly more entertaining than Aspinal. We're here to watch darts not some pansy song and walk on, thats secondary to the performance.

Maybe have a separate series where it’s just pub dart venues rather than the big ones
it does seem that way....

Great idea for challenge tour shake up more players should go through as a natural feed for the Pro Tour
Absolutely

the podcast is still evolving, that may happen
24th ranked De Decker doesn’t deserve Premier League end of

For me the premier League is for the venue audience, I don't think it's really for TV it gets boring seeing the same players every week
What it makes boring is not the same players every week - that was always the case. It's watching the same matches all the time, sometimes four weeks in a row. This way it becomes total meaningless for hardcore darts fans.
Mvg looked out of sorts in that final he wasn't celebrating 180s or give the big roar
I don't think stage 1 should be seeded but I agree that stage 2 should be
There's a young guy who's a man united fan where the Manchester arena is pretty much his home venue... luke littler.
Asp should change his song to something else to prove its not about the walk on song 😂😂😂
why is the premier league only 8 players??? surely 16 players over 2nts at each venue would be better.
No it'd be awful
The only thing that needs to change with q school is drop the second stage and everybody starts at the same point over 4 days.
certainly something needs to change

Will you be travelling abroad to see setups in different countries?
yes we will
Do you do rate my oche in garrages?.....just got a new house up in Northumberland and a big garrage.......going to try to make it into a darts cave!
yes ! when its done send pics to youtube@missiondarts.com
I rate Doets too
Eric Bristow onc said averages don't matter it's the X at the side of your name. To much is taken from averages
yes we agree a Win is whats important
It's just a matter of time before Luke Littler has tournament that he completes a set play match with only 4 visits to the board for each leg. Because he looks so comfortable on stage and the big thing is he actually learned from his defeat in his first world final. Great content again lads
Pantomime darts on tour! 😂
yes Matt and Andy would nail that
Matt stop muting Andy. I know he’s northern, but it’s rude.
Back to back 27 averages in superleague is decent.
lot of love from Andy for these comments
Steven Bunting coming out in Liverpool to "you'll never walk alone".
might be love and hate for that

He is always competitive which you can't say for Smith, Wright, Cross and others
He finished 5th in PL last year
Yes thats a really good point
In the club, well I will be in 52 mins
