Is Options Trading OVER? | SEBI might bring NEW Changes to F&O trading

- SEBI strongly believes that Option Trading turnover needs to get down from the levels it is currently sitting at. Well, not sure why are we even surprised at these numbers as this was always on the cards after the Peak Margin rule on Intraday trading was brought in by the regulator.
There are 3 possible changes that are going around the media space that SEBI may make:
- Value of the option contracts/lot size
- Number of expiries in a week
- No. of Strike Prices in a contract
In other words, there is a possibility that if these three rules are brought in, the small trader with smaller capital may stop options trading.
Is this really the solution?
We discussed this point with the real players of this game. There was one to one interactions with Praful Kulkarni (an Options Seller), Vivek Kushwaha (an options buyer) and Adv. Vikas Gupta (Legal Expert) on how these changes can defy the whole concept of option trading for retail traders.

सरकार को रिटेलर की चिंता नहीं है ,असल में बात ये है की अब रिटेलर ज्यादा प्रॉफिट करने लगे है ,अब 10% प्रॉफिट करने वाले नही है अब इसकी संख्या बड गई है,और अब उन 10% प्रॉफिट करने वालो को परेशानी हो रही है की अब रिटेल लोगो के पास भी प्रॉफिट जा रहा है,मतलब अब उनका प्रॉफिट percentage रिटेल लोगो की वजह से कम हो गया है,तो अब इस तरह की तरकीब लगाई जा रही है की रिटेलर को मार्केट से दूर कर दिया जाए ,और सब बड़े बड़े लोगो की दुकान चलती रहे

i am a option seller.. 2021 me market me aya tha.. 2-3 mahine maeket ko smjha 2023 k half tak loss khaya aur jab expiry daily ho gyi to us par pura focus kiya aur expiry ko ache se trade karne laga aur aaj break even par pahuch gya hu jab sara loss recover karke thoda bahut profitable bana hu.. Aur ab jab isko full time karne ki soch raha hu to ab ye expiry ko hi khatm kar rahe hai.. Jisme maine khud ko majboot bnaya hai.. Ab sb zero se shuru karna pdega.. SEBI wants to push back 4.7 million retail option traders because they are losing money. There are 2.3 million students taking the NEET exam, and only a few thousand succeed while the other 2.25 million fail, so should we stop the NEET exam? Similarly, for the UPSC exam, 2.3 million students take it, and only a few hundred pass while the others do not succeed, so should we stop the UPSC exam?

I guess ki pichle kuch years me many option buyers are shifted to option selling. Shayad yahi baat institutionals ke liye problem hai...margin badhega means jaha 1 lac me option contract sell kar sakte hai waha 5 lac-10 lac lagenge, so obvious hai ki sellers ko buying me shift hona padega...aur ye rules bass institutional ko favour karne ke liye hai.....retails traders to pahle bhi marte aa rahe the, aur ab bhi marenge....Like main bhi 2 years sikha, buying se selling me shift hua, aur abhi 3 to 4 months se profits main hu, margin badhega to obvoius hai ki mujhe option trading to band karna padega....

Option trading is there to help FIIS. SEBI introduces such rules to oust Retail players and to support FIIs. Covid allowed Retail players to understand Options and started making money, which is not what FIIs want. They must have pressurised SEBI to succumb to their demands.

1.The number of legitimate complaints received by traders , stating they have lost money in f & o by borrowing
2. What are the losses by borrowing capital, in proportion to losses by self funded traders?
3. Who is lending to losing traders in f & o?
4. Quantum/ ratio of traders with borrowed capital vis-a-vis selffunded traders.
5. Account longevity of traders borrowing capital, in case datais available
6. If a huge number of traders are borrowing money and losing , what are the NPA numbers by institutions ? Because, probably family and friends will have limited capital to lend losing traders in F & O.

1. Option buyer को minimum 3 lakh का buy करना होगा
Option seller को 1 lot sell करने के लिये 50k minimum requirement होने चाहिए

I think they should make nism equity derivative exam compulsory for activating derivative segment, ex: like we need to upload bank statement to activate derivative segment same way broker should ask our NISM registration number so that broker will verify we pass the exam or not for activating segment

1: Reduce X times exposure for options - So that small cap option writers will be out , which directly benefits big fishes
2: Rule out margin benefits for BO,CO orders - So that people trade wo SL, which indirectly benefits big fishes
3: Introduce daily expiries across all exchanges - So that big fishes can hunt down option buyers on every expiry, which indirectly benefits big fishes
4: Increase lot size - So that small cap people will shift out to option buying from option selling, which indirectly benefits big fishes
5: Reduce no of expiries - So that most of the volume will concentrate into 1-2 expiries , shoots up volume, makes easier for big fishes to apply SL hunting algos more easily, which indirectly benefits big fishes
6: Make FnO difficult for retailers - So that people shift to cash market , that makes easier for operators to create bigger bubbles in individual stocks through price rigging which indirectly benefits big fishes

This is complete shit move from SEBI, me being a scalper in option selling, for me everyday expires were the best thing. Even if margin getting increased, till some extent it's fine .. but ending everyday expiry is gonna be very bad for many others too .. as Praful mentioned we have evolved as an everyday expiry trader, shifting back to normal trader, with increased margin and no expires everyday gonna be bad ..

@@Nikhil-dx9kc Bhai as of now BNFs contract calculations comes (bnf price * lot size which is 52500*15) around 7.5-8Lacs, and as per rumours plan is to increase the lot size and have the margin in range from 20-30Lacs. Likewise expecting margin required also to be increased 2-3times, although we will be able to sell 2-3 times more quantities also. Confusion he confusion hai bhai ..
@@ayushrajput88 haan yaar isi confusion mein jee rha hu. Mai unme se hu jo 1.5-2% pe nikal jata hu in selling. But ab lot size increase ho jaegi aur uske price 2-3 times to wo 1.5-2% lena bhi mushkil lag rha hai. Jab funds hi nahi honge to lots bechenge kha se to get the required % of earning.

Exactly what you covered in this video is what SEBI should have done. They don't know the ground report and they are doing whatever they feels like. They should ask retailers opinion also. The more you want to cage a bird, the more it wants to fly.
I have started Option Trading from January 2024 and loss my almost capital in this.
But after saw over 2000 Hours videos in youtube reading books about option tradind now I Made a Set-Up and last 10 days I earn 10 to 20% of my capital daily.
This is very embarassing news for me that SEBI try to shut the doors of oportunity for small traders like me.
I hope you will raise this issue with SEBI through mail and other ways of conversation. If you want a support of small traders then kindly make a video that how we can support you we'll deffinately do the same.

In regards to increasing derivative volume , I the best thing will be to allow maximum 30% of net worth amount to be deployed in derivatives segment in a financial year based on the bank account statement for that year . this will cover all issues , but increasing the lot size might increase losses for those who are even educated and using it mindfully , thanks a lot .

2 set all indices expiries at single day
3 set 0.1 x margin for option buying means if i have 10k in demate account than i can use only 1k in option buying
Plenty of retail traders have educated themselves and have turned profitable.
Stock market trading will always be loss of majority and profit of few.
Just because retailer have started earning money by option writing, Govt is trying hard to push them towards buying side. More you buy less is the chance to make money.
Govt is not worried about loss of retailers. It is worried about big players who are not able to take out big chunk of money due to retail option writers.

सिंपल सॉल्यूशन ये है कि जिन ट्रेडर के ट्रेडिंग डीमैट अकाउंट तीन साल पुराने है उनके अकाउंट में ही सिर्फ ऑप्शन सेगमेंट enable की जाए और न्यू अकाउंट ओपन करने वाले ट्रेडर्स के अकाउंट में ऑप्शन सेगमेंट डिसेबल हो। इस से ये फायदा होगा कि नया बंदा लॉस नही कर पायेगा और जिसे तीन साल का मार्केट एक्सपेरिंस है वही ऑप्शन का रिस्क समझते हुए उस मे ट्रेडिंग कर सकेगा।
It will not work, many times we open new Demat, cause I got better deal there, that may be brokerage or Better software, so how they define who is old or new...NISM certification should be mandate solution for this for entry in F&O segment, else give your amount to some NISM certified broker to manage.

For which lets assume they take coaching investing around
