1999-2004 was such an amazing time for football fans. Gameday, Madden, 2k and Fever were all cranking out games. I always prefered 2k, then Madden, then Fever, then Gameday. But for some reason now, in 2022, I find Fever to be the most fun to play. The speed burst in Fever just feels awesome.
I'm playing fever 04 for the first time. I frustratingly lost because I couldn't quick spike as time was running out. Can u not do that on xbox like Madden? I know holding A button puts u in no huddle
One of the things I liked about Fever 02 when it came out was how it looked far more detailed and realistic with the field goal kicks compared to Madden at the time.
Man I would hate EA even more if I had played this game in it's day. This company needs to make a football game now, just start with these same graphics and gameplay.
@Primus Blitz I liked madden 10 a lot, after that I played 17. Played the longshot on 18 and haven't played since i opened and tossed 19 in the trash on release day. I'm tempted to buy the ps5 version just for the laughs.
@@DerekTurner1985 This game looks interesting the only thing I could say is we need better commentators that's all there is to it Might want to call up Dan Stevens and Peter o'keefe
If we're talking about old school football games ESPN 2K5 is the best hands down But this definitely could have been a close 2nd and it might be to some people The only thing that I would do differently is get some better commentators seriously
I remember using the raiders running 4 wide with Charles and Rod Woodson as the slot receivers and Jerry Rice and James Jett as the outside guys.. was completely OP
2003 is my favorite one of the 3. The 2003 football games were pretty much equal to me all had positives and flaws. Game day was fun, 2k3 was deep, madden had online that was good and fever was really fun.
Microsoft gave up on it for some reason but still it would've ended in 2005 thanks to the NFL choosing madden over 2k, game day and fever. I'm starting to think that 989 and Microsoft both knew the NFL was deciding to choose either madden or 2k for exclusivity since they both stopped with 2004 games instead of doing a 2005 one.
@@DerekTurner1985 Late af reply but whatever. The real reason why Microsoft stopped after 2004 was because EA threatened them to remove the Madden series from Xbox if they didn't allow them to be the only NFL simulation game on the console barring other third parties.
Troy Brown, Richard Seymour, Mike Vrable, Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy, Richard Harrison, Adam Vinatieri on the Pats, Quentin Jammer, LaDanian Tomlinson, Drew Brees on the Chargers... NFL before it started going to shit.
Madden 2004 got the praise for its gameplay extras, but this game really felt like it tried to emulate the "spirit" of the NFL so to speak. I liked it better.
Derek Turner Yeah, but they unfortunately don’t make NFL or any other football games anymore (I know 2k is pretty much back but it’s not similar to how EA makes there games.)
@@RobertSmithhalo For the most part I've given up on playing NFL. Madden 10 was the last time I played a bunch other than that Madden 17 was fine and I just updated the rosters. The fact that fade routes don't even work in Madden none this generation is wild.
I see this isn’t high level competitive play.. every single offensive and defensive play in high level competitive play were completely custom made plays..
@@DerekTurner1985 for sure. I may have to put the 2k5 down for a bit to enjoy this one. Im one of the ones who still enjoy 2k5 on ps2 even though i own a ps4 and the current madden.
@@johnnymccollum5935 I still play 2k5 on the 360 with the backwards compatibility. 2k4 was amazing too another game that was overshadowed. I got madden 19 and threw it in the trash after 30 minutes. Madden 17 was fun to me, 18 was garbage and 19 was utter crap. I'll have to stay away from madden for a while until next gen I guess.
@@DerekTurner1985 they need to get it together at EA or just charge folks online for a roster update only since that's all they release every year anyway.

Coach Rob and Lou Dawg...lol My brother and I were beta testers for Xbox live. We played this game so much. Gamer tags were Luckyruffles19 and Hieroglyphical15. I miss these days a ton.
When you play fever, it somehow feels like a solid high-quality NFL game. I still play my 2004. Very advanced for it's time.
Gameday was better

GameDay 04 is actually a master piece I always thought 2k5 but GameDay 04 dayum miles ahead of anything madden
This games presentation was amazing.
Very underrated game
I miss this game, u could create a play that was unstoppable
This and Inside Drive were great. I liked this game better than Madden
Inside Drive is live, the game of the night... the illest NBA game you've played in your life.
They let players wear towels years before madden. Something so simple
NFL fever underrated football game

I miss this game!!! Was Top 10 in the world consistently!! My Gtag was Shawba
This game had Tom Brady with the gloves before Tom Brady put on the gloves
Drew Brees actually plays like 04 drew Brees
Loads better than Madden. That's why the bought the rights to the NFL, other companies were putting out better products.
Madden 2005 was good but once they got the license they have been hit and miss since.

Them graphics look beautiful
seriously how the hell did fever look so good
nothing is greater than the POWER OF X!
gizo original Xbox was so far ahead of its time
Players on the sideline look better than Madden 21 smh
The player models look great in Madden 04 your kicker was the same size as a defensive end
This was not a bad game at all it was ranked close to madden at the time, I believe it might have gotten better as time went but we'll never know!!
3:17 nice spin
anyway to play this in 2025?
