Yes to this!! Especially if they did a story about him taking down Professor Cadmium; maybe he even had a "lab assistant" hench that later introduces Red Death to his future wife Kate (this isn't my headcannon or anything lmao xD)
Ohhhh !! Totally recognize his voice now: I’ve binged Carnivalé and podcasts about Carnivalé. And he was legit scary in Highlander when he took that hostage for a drive…
Red Death and Dr. Doofenschmirtz are the two best villains ever devised in fiction. They are sufficiently evil while also being able to sustain a home life
You Know this isnt too far off on how mob bosses and gang leaders act irl. A lot have the ability to switch their modes that easily. I guess that's just one of the perks of being able to control empathy
When I listen to Red Death talk about Lila and her rain boots, I can’t help being reminded of Hank and his Batman costume. It’s especially heartwarming for long-time fans.
I just love how he can go from causal fun loving married man/dad to a villain who won't hesitate to kill your entire family, mail their decapitated heads at your work while hacking the cameras to see your utter shocked expression. Red Death is just awesome!
2:48 Funny thing, despite how evil he is during work, he didn't litter. I think he finds little stuff like that petty and not becoming of a professional villain.
I mean, if arching is more of an art, just don't do anything to actually piss him off and you should be fine. Obviously nobody wants him as an arch, but it also creates a bit of pride; he's the best of the best. Being seen as his equal is an honor, in a way.
I love how he's probably one of the most genuinely evil characters and the most wholesome character at the same time. This guy is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters
I think Red Death is a fine exemple of classic villainy. He has honorable bad guy standards, he's a great parent, and despite being scary, RD is one heck of a great character!
You know, it's REALLY telling that for Red Death's "Final Arch", while everyone else had someone from their past or their longest running foe to face, Red Death had some guy that rubbed him the wrong way maybe a few days ago. Why's that? Because he killed every other Arch and foe he had ever had to the point the only one left was someone he just met. And seeing what he did to Blind Rage, it's not hard to see why.
You ever wondered how Red Death met his wife? What kind of person she was or is? "Guy who looks like he was skinned alive? No lips, no hair, no eyelids? I want me some of that" I mean huge props to her for looking past his looks but...How? Truly, behind every level 10 villain there's a level 10 wife.
"...And here we go, with the killing and the screaming and blood spilling and a nice LADYYY!" In case he wants to get serious with our raggamuffin?" "DAD!" "Mister Death, sir? I think I'm just gonna go" *Canned laughter* "Why so soon? Dont you wanna try the brownies? They're to die for." *Canned laughter*
I love that this world allows this man to be such a wholesome father and husband who has no secrets from his family, while still pursing his passions on a professional level.
This is the ideal. When your in character your a force of nature, when your on the job your a professional and when your at home, you do your damndest to make it work. But always have class.
3:06 I can watch this clip all day on loop. Red death knocking out that loud mouth peacocking Chad, dude, bro was the best thing ever. Literally everything I wanna see from television.
I love how Clancy Brown cycle thru his full vocal range for Red Death; goes from dotting father to heavy bad guy to full-on sociopath super villain… and back again. He doesn’t get the full respect that he really deserves.
"Show time!" "You want some brownies in there, too, cuddles?" "Brownies? Yes, thank you." That part is what I love about adult-focused animated stuff; you can bounce between serious action and death and all that and then to wholesome sweet moments in the blink of an eye way more naturally than you ever could in a live action setting, almost no matter how good the actors are. Also, I agree, brownies are the SHIT, no matter how much you're ready to go and kill a mf, there's always time for brownies.
Honestly I think Red Death is the BEST at being a villain. He’s intimidating, he’s terrifying, he’s precise, he knows his history, he’s got his entire aesthetic locked IN. He’s so professional it’s AWESOME.

@7:46 "Mister Fahrenheit, super sonic man" Eric (doc hammer) cant help himself, he has to fit in as many music references as he can into every episode.
The Guild was full of them. It's a holdover from when Phantomas was recruiting musicians to be in the guild and also to accompany his sousaphone playing. Red Mantle and Dragoon were Buddy Holly and Richie Valens. Once they got the date right, we saw them just before they were about to board a certain plane with The Big Bopper.
He wasn't around long but he was one of my FAVORITE characters in the whole show. Goodbye mighty Red Death, you and all of Venture Bros were taken before your time...
Clancey Brown is one of those actors that I will cry when we finally lose them. He is the voice of many a memorable villain and Henchman and Red Death is just a culmination of all of that insanity, dread and pure evil.
I Like to think that Red Death is the result of Lex Luthor merging with Darkseid and the anti life equation in the last episode of Justice League Unlimted.
He is so wholesome and completely terrifying, I wish more villains could pull off something like this. They are either All Bad, or someone forced into a bad situation, but Red seems to genuinely enjoy his work, but is not necessarily a bad guy.
I personally think this is Clancy Brown's best voice role. I do like Mr. Krabs and Lex Luthor, but Clancy puts so much energy and passion into this role, it's hard not to get sucked into his performance.

Also Red Death is way too good of a character to just be on the show. He needs a comic. I don't care if it's DC, Marvel, or whatever , just get this man a comic. Maybe add in Professor Victor Von Helping/Hellfire as his protagonist. It be an interesting pairing. They'd have epic battles and then have a coffee later.
Red Death would definitely be a solid for for DC ngl
he really does do a lot of red characters doesn't he. just to name a few he has Mr. Krabs, Red Death, and Montross. kinda funny
You know he voiced Lex Luther in Super man the animated series, Justice league and justice league unlimited?
Yes to this!! Especially if they did a story about him taking down Professor Cadmium; maybe he even had a "lab assistant" hench that later introduces Red Death to his future wife Kate (this isn't my headcannon or anything lmao xD)
His Lex Luther is Amazing
One of the best character in venture brothers also add points for Clancy Brown awesome acting
the speech at the train track really gave me chills
Just a dude trying to provide for his family, nothing wrong here
Clancy Brown, hell of a VA. Conveys so much in his roles with just subtle changes of tone.
Ohhhh !! Totally recognize his voice now: I’ve binged Carnivalé and podcasts about Carnivalé. And he was legit scary in Highlander when he took that hostage for a drive…
Red Death and Dr. Doofenschmirtz are the two best villains ever devised in fiction. They are sufficiently evil while also being able to sustain a home life
The Monarch and Red Death have something great in common: they’re both Family Men.
You Know this isnt too far off on how mob bosses and gang leaders act irl. A lot have the ability to switch their modes that easily. I guess that's just one of the perks of being able to control empathy
If empathy is controlled, is it really empathy?
"This thing we do"
When I listen to Red Death talk about Lila and her rain boots, I can’t help being reminded of Hank and his Batman costume. It’s especially heartwarming for long-time fans.
It is difficult to make a Super Villain so scary and yet so wholesome at the same time--but this guy is living proof that it can be possible XD
Red Death didn't make evil an art form, but he made sure EVERYONE understood the art.
He manages to be not only terrifying, but justify the ridiculousness.
1:48 she IS wearing rain boots inside. Details are spot on
I just love how he can go from causal fun loving married man/dad to a villain who won't hesitate to kill your entire family, mail their decapitated heads at your work while hacking the cameras to see your utter shocked expression. Red Death is just awesome!
The fact Red’s Skull’s parody is actually somehow wholesome is hilarious
2:48 Funny thing, despite how evil he is during work, he didn't litter. I think he finds little stuff like that petty and not becoming of a professional villain.
I took his advice of separating work/life balance to heart. Words to live by.
Same , all separate, and balanced as all things should be
The villain you're afraid to arch you but at the same time, a guy you would love to have a beer with.
Clancy Brown going between incredibly wholesome family man to terrifying madman is such an excellent thing and such a great choice for VA work.
God I love this guy, he's just the perfect villain; loves his job, but keeps it away from his family life.
1:20 I know it’s played for laughs, but come on. Who doesn’t love brownies?
I mean…yeah! 😋
You ever wondered how Red Death met his wife? What kind of person she was or is?
"Guy who looks like he was skinned alive? No lips, no hair, no eyelids? I want me some of that"
I mean huge props to her for looking past his looks but...How?
Truly, behind every level 10 villain there's a level 10 wife.
I totally want a Cosby Show style spinoff about Red Death.
"...And here we go, with the killing and the screaming and blood spilling and a nice LADYYY!"
"Honey, maybe you shouldn't talk about work when our daughter brings her new friend Jason around?"
*Canned laughter*
"Well, I just think it would interest him to know what I do for work. You know. In case he wants to get serious with our raggamuffin?"
"DAD!"
"Mister Death, sir? I think I'm just gonna go"
*Canned laughter*
"Why so soon? Dont you wanna try the brownies? They're to die for."
*Canned laughter*
@@DashingSteel Yes, exactly.
She instantly knew what kind of man he was on the inside.
*_Two drums and a cymbal fall off a cliff._*
Looks don't matter so much as charm and passion. And Red Death is charming and passionate.
I love that this world allows this man to be such a wholesome father and husband who has no secrets from his family, while still pursing his passions on a professional level.
I feel like even if the characters are terrified of him, they're all sort of rooting for him too. He's the best of them
This is the ideal. When your in character your a force of nature, when your on the job your a professional and when your at home, you do your damndest to make it work.
But always have class.
When Red Death dives into monologues, it reminds me of the scene in the movie Shark when Captain Quint talks about the wreck of the USS Indianapolis
It's intentional. The entire episode that monologue comes from is a Jaws reference.
1 part wholesome and 3 parts terrifying.
I can bet that red skull is jealous of him.
Red skill was really a cosplayer all along.
1:22 “Yes! Thank you!” That was so genuine. I loved it.
Red Death is one of the few characters who i can safely say is absolutely amazing every time he's on screen.
Red death's "uhmmmm" after being asked how long the ppl would be unconscious will always crack me up.
Just imagine him laugh like a pirate
Clown in a Space Station? and they expected things to go right?
Whoever wrote the space death descriptions really knew their shit
Single most disturbing thing in the series to me
"Show time!"
"You want some brownies in there, too, cuddles?"
"Brownies? Yes, thank you."
That part is what I love about adult-focused animated stuff; you can bounce between serious action and death and all that and then to wholesome sweet moments in the blink of an eye way more naturally than you ever could in a live action setting, almost no matter how good the actors are.
Also, I agree, brownies are the SHIT, no matter how much you're ready to go and kill a mf, there's always time for brownies.
I bet they were AMAZING brownies.
He's great dad and husband
Hey tha stanza!
Honestly I think Red Death is the BEST at being a villain. He’s intimidating, he’s terrifying, he’s precise, he knows his history, he’s got his entire aesthetic locked IN.
He’s so professional it’s AWESOME.
Mr. Fahrenheit. I’ve never noticed.
Clancy Brown goes from terrifying to wholesome in a second!
RD "I very much like to kill"
Dr GF "We get to break in an oversized dummy corp."
RD "And kill"
Love how when they were doing their super mashups they went: "hey what if we combined Red Skull with Vision?"
9:52 That burn was so hot, the earth’s core froze solid
8:45 a nice little easter egg for all who missed it! the back of the magazine laugh riot is holding is advertising a 1987 Nissan STANZA, The same car #24 picked up #21 in and saw throughout the show!
I mean...How can't he? I would to
Feels like both Red Death and Mr. Krabs have something in common. They’re both red and both voiced by the same voice actor.
and Damien Darkblood
from invincible
They are both loving fathers, too.
Red Death is what happens when Krabs did an OD on DMT
He's actually right about dying in space!
If you're lucky you lose your breath and just fade away while your blood expands
I Like to think that Red Death is the result of Lex Luthor merging with Darkseid and the anti life equation in the last episode of Justice League Unlimted.
"How long do we have until they regain consciousness?"
"Um."
Well, he's not called "Red Knockout".
Its an absolute travesty that this show was cancled.
Doesn't it have a movie coming out?
I know right. Even Elizabeth complained lol
The fact that Red death threw that trash on the garbage can. The guy knows not to litter, yet will not hesitate to throw down.
"brownies?! yes thank you!" 😆
Red Death will forever be my favorite performance by Clancy Brown.
That Dummy Corp. neo-deco area rug was impeccable...
God red death is one of the best villains i can think of. So calculated and calm. Just an awesome character.
Fear the old man in the profession where men die young.
My favorite next to killinger
Clancy Brown performed his lines with his mouth partially opened and a lisp.
He is so wholesome and completely terrifying, I wish more villains could pull off something like this.
They are either All Bad, or someone forced into a bad situation, but Red seems to genuinely enjoy his work, but is not necessarily a bad guy.
3:13 I love he can just turn that off.
It's nice to see a villain with such a healthy work-life balance.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHH-oh...hi!"
My God, Clancy Brown was brilliant in this role.
8:23 Carful Red Death, your Gorrath is showing.
I personally think this is Clancy Brown's best voice role. I do like Mr. Krabs and Lex Luthor, but Clancy puts so much energy and passion into this role, it's hard not to get sucked into his performance.
Imagine if you were so menacing and respected that you could get the attention of an entire room by crushing a styrofoam cup
The definition of a true gentleman villain terrifying, charismatic, and a surprisingly great family man
My favorite
One of the things you get from Venture Bro's is that the whole thing is an elaborate LARPing session but with real laser guns. This guy proves it.
