As a ground water specialist, i may tell you that this kind exposes a confined underground aquifer which continues to receive water from elsewhere. At some particular time, this confine aquifer must have blasted off along its path, at this location ( just like a pipe burst) , which the folklore had attributed to a fearsome ( Bheem) event and so a name as Bheemkund ( a dangerous lake!). It is dangerous because the confined groundwater comes with force at the bottom and may also drain off underground along its path. Therefore, any thing which sinks in may also get stuck up . Because fresh water comes from the confined aquifer all the time, the water is likely to be purer despite people bathing in it. ( Our villagers collect water even from normal lakes which is not that fresh!)
It cannot have any connection with sea as the water is potable and not salty. And the area is very very far off from sea. Even if it is sea water trapped in the geological past, it would have been diluted millions of years ago. Colour is blue by reflection of atmosphere. Water rising or falling here during earthquakes is sin sync with the pressure additional felt by the underground confined aquifer, the way the water reacts if a plastic filled with water is pressed.
India lives by faith which gives a peaceful mind, science does not do that.
