I bought the new GT version in 2018 and its probably the most enjoyable car I've had since my Peugeot 205 GTi back in the late 1980s. Your test is a very accurate reflection of what it's like to own a Twingo.
After this video I've decided to buy one! :) I love my little Twingo TCe90, every drive makes so much fun! Thank you for this great clip that inspired me! I agree with all you said. The gear switching point is not optimal but I still love the car. :)
A difficult one. The Twingo has the crazy turning circle and the Ignis has even more character. But that latter one is obviously very subjective. Both cars made me smile, but I think I'd personally go for the Ignis because of the 4-pot NA amongst other things. But, as I always say, drive both to make up your own mind and see what you like.
4:25 It's interesting that you say that - my 2012 Clio dCi is also never quite sure what gear it wants at 30mph. It revs higher than I'd like in 3rd, but if I put it into 4th, although the engine doesn't struggle, there is a noticeable vibration that comes through the gearstick and the downshift arrow lights up. Interestingly though, it often tells me to shift up to 4th when I'm going up an incline. I've never understood why it wants a higher gear uphill; my only guess is it's got something to do with the turbo kicking in under load. I assumed that this was just a quirk of the dCi engines, but it the Twingo has similar issues, it seems like it might be a "Renault thing". It is pretty irritating, but you get used to it eventually. If I'm crusing at 30 for any length of time, I just put it into 4th and ignore the downshift indicator. The car can clearly manage it, so why not?
@@Janshevik I'm from the UK - we use MPH here too. For some reason, we have adopted some elements of the metric system but not others. It can be confusing!

Glad to have been of help. Enjoy your new car!
It's an enjoyable little Renault!
