It's sad when you ask to young people this days about DJ's and they talk about Hardwell, Martin Garrix and shit like that. I mean, look at this bro. This is dope. A masterclass of DJing.
a friend o' mine once asked me :"but what djs at festival really do?!" i said: "basically not so much, djing is something else" and then I had to introduce him to Jeff. after 10 mins he was already educated.
Over here, I mean where I'm from, you could say that DJ's are eliminated from the party scene and people dont really party anymore too. The music is provided by someone behind a laptop but nobody cares about him/her, it's not like that person does anything interesting but to me that is wrong but kids dont mind. Kids these days are on Ketamine, not that I mind drugs on the contrary but these kids dont party, dont dance. They are just hanging in front of the sound system spaced out listening to a kick without melody. Okay when I went partying I also used substances like X and blow but the music and DJ'ing was what it was all about. Back then I shaked my ass of too. Lett me quote the man himself, Jeff Mills: "I start with energetic tracks so the kids can dance, later on I slow down so the boys and girls can meet and after that I go back to playing energetic tracks again so that they can dance some more." Minutes after that Jeff Mills was abducted by a UFO...

This is art, we were lucky to live at that time with these real djs, music in their hands to the touch like a guitarist, perhaps the strangest thing is to see contemporaries changing their style to please the masses, see Richie Hawting, Carl Cox although the latter has been returning to his origins for years, I think it is also the fault of technology because being a DJ is not always fashion, it is vocation to see enjoy and make music for others, they are different rhythms, lucky that we have RUclips for escicThis is art, we were lucky to live at that time with these real djs, music in their hands to the touch like a guitarist, perhaps the strangest thing is to see contemporaries changing their style to please the masses, see Richie Hawting, Carl Cox although the latter has been returning to his origins for years, I think it is also the fault of technology because being a DJ is not always fashion, it is vocation to see enjoy and make music for others, they are different rhythms, lucky that we have RUclips for esciThis is art, we were lucky to live at that time with these real djs, music in their hands to the touch like a guitarist, perhaps the strangest thing is to see contemporaries changing their style to please the masses, see Richie Hawting, Carl Cox although the latter has been returning to his origins for years, I think it is also the fault of technology because being a DJ is not always fashion, it is vocation to see enjoy and make music for others, they are different rhythms, lucky that we have RUclips for escThis is art, we were lucky to live at that time with these real djs, music in their hands to the touch like a guitarist, perhaps the strangest thing is to see contemporaries changing their style to please the masses, see Richie Hawting, Carl Cox although the latter has been returning to his origins for years, I think it is also the fault of technology because being a DJ is not always fashion, it is vocation to see enjoy and make music for others, they are different rhythms, lucky that we have RUclips to listenThis is art, we were lucky to live at that time with these real djs, music in their hands to the touch like a guitarist, perhaps the strangest thing is to see contemporaries changing their style to please the masses, see Richie Hawting, Carl Cox although the latter has been returning to his origins for years, I think it is also the fault of technology because being a DJ is not always fashion, it is vocation to see enjoy and make music for others, they are different rhythms, lucky that we have RUclips to listen

he is still one that dose not use lap tops but sadly most do now and they ant even DJs now all they do is press sync and it does it all. they say you can do so much more and it comes in the DJ packege but the computer software does it all for you. sounds like fun eh?:(
Wow, I never though I would see this on RUclips :D Anyway, at 40:22 it's obviously the beginning of the legendary "Changes of Life" track, but what's the track before it (it starts at approx. 38:30 into the video)? I've forgotten the title during all this years, so please help... :) Tnx. in advance!

I love it when he sounds like it mixed wrong on the offbeat and he just switches in a tune... it sounds like sloppy mixing but its deceptive.
The good old days when Djing was really "Djing",
At that time, real techno djs were mixing tracks very quickly with great technic skills and with vinyls ! Now ? No comment...
Completly agree with you mate. I will post my First vidéo mix soon and i am techno influenced hop you take a look. See you 😊
