It's sad when you ask to young people this days about DJ's and they talk about Hardwell, Martin Garrix and shit like that. I mean, look at this bro. This is dope. A masterclass of DJing.
a friend o' mine once asked me :"but what djs at festival really do?!" i said: "basically not so much, djing is something else" and then I had to introduce him to Jeff.
after 10 mins he was already educated.
Over here, I mean where I'm from, you could say that DJ's are eliminated from the party scene and people dont really party anymore too. The music is provided by someone behind a laptop but nobody cares about him/her, it's not like that person does anything interesting but to me that is wrong but kids dont mind. Kids these days are on Ketamine, not that I mind drugs on the contrary but these kids dont party, dont dance. They are just hanging in front of the sound system spaced out listening to a kick without melody. Okay when I went partying I also used substances like X and blow but the music and DJ'ing was what it was all about. Back then I shaked my ass of too. Lett me quote the man himself, Jeff Mills: "I start with energetic tracks so the kids can dance, later on I slow down so the boys and girls can meet and after that I go back to playing energetic tracks again so that they can dance some more." Minutes after that Jeff Mills was abducted by a UFO...

Hace 15 años entró mi hermano mayor por la habitación y me tiro encima de cama un CD con esta video-sesión grabada en él. (Yo por aquel entonces solamente escuchaba Death, Thrash, Grindcore...Todo relacionado con una guitarra, rondaba los 14 años de edad). Me dijo "Hazme caso y escucha eso" a las 3 de la mañana de aquel día le di una oportunidad a aquel CD, así seguimos hasta el día de hoy. Gracias Miguel, gracias Jeff y gracias a la propia música por haberme acompañado en todos los momentos de mi vida, si no fuera por ella no sé si seguiría por aquí.
Me sucede igual que a ti. En mi caso lo que sucedió fue que me llevaron a la discoteca Florida 135 a la fuerza. Puente de la constitucion del año 2000. Al final acabé siendo DJ de esta musica (amateur), Organizamos unos fiestones increibles en el camping de Fraga y en un hotel de Fraga cuando terminaban las sesiones de Jeff Mills a partir de los 9 de la mañana. Acabé viviendo en Fraga un tiempo. Que nostalgia, que maravila. Si quieres puedes escribirme. Un saludo.

totalmente de acuerdo, soy de 1985, y Jeff Mills cambio mi vida, eese techno tan especial, ese toque, esa magia, esa rapidez, esa tecnica en la mezcla, esos tracks uno tras otro, cada track ha sido momentos de mi vida, pura emocion y motivacion, hasta que fui al Sonar tres años consecutivos a ver esto en directo. Aquello aun sigo escuchandolo en mi coche, y no ha pasado de moda, es algo eterno, y estamos en 2024
Melhor coisa que fiz hoje foi circular pelos vídeos desse mago!!!!! É saboroso ver e ouvir ele tocar. Quero ter a oportunidade de apreciar essa experiência ao vivo.
Fomos dois e cai aqui neste set que já ouvi na altura que “saiu” e faz muito bem uma limpeza sonora do que se ouvi ai ultimamente

First time I heard Mills played Rumenige or Loktibrada. I mean their kind of techno, so unique for eastern Europe producers

he is still one that dose not use lap tops but sadly most do now and they ant even DJs now all they do is press sync and it does it all. they say you can do so much more and it comes in the DJ packege but the computer software does it all for you. sounds like fun eh?:(
