In March 2023, Microsoft dropped word of its plans for AI domination of the business productivity market with Microsoft 365 Copilot. This showed a new interface for business productivity, getting things done in Microsoft 365, whether it be Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote or Loop, with natural language instead of mouse clicks.
Now, one year on from that initial announcement, and with Copilot for Microsoft 365 accessible to all users, did Microsoft deliver on what it showed us? What aspects of this product are great, which are okay, and which need improvement? This is Copilot's freshman Report Card.

Wow. Being late to the show, so to speak, gives me a ton to consume. Thanks for making this content!
Thanks for watching!
as always, stellar content w/ peerless delivery. Still the only channel that helps me make heads or tails about this product and its realistic expectations.
Thanks for your kind feedback. I'm glad it's helpful.
I am mostly interested in using Copilot for building PowerPoint so I am rather disappointed. It regularly tells me "I can't do that" or produces some really poor results when you ask it to build slides. Totally different to the demo.
Is it copilot pro Sir?
Its Copilot 365 embedded into PowerPoint(paid version)@@HADarsh-gz7hz
Certainly, PowerPoint has lots of opportunity for improvement. It is one of the apps that has improved since I started using it, but a good number of points to finish/fix. Thanks for watching the video.
@@HADarsh-gz7hz There is no way to use Copilot on PowerPoint without he Pro version
We have no Microsoft cloud services like Team, Exchange Online or One Drive for Business. Can we still use the copilot chat option within the browser or will this kill the experience or is it even a show stopper?
Copilot as in Copilot that was Bing Chat or Copilot Pro, yes. Copilot as in Copilot for Microsoft 365, that’s a show stopper.
@@brightideasagency ah I see. So the copilot that was bing chat is not the same like Microsoft 365 copilot? Whats the difference and how do I enable it? It is now part if the Microsoft 365 copilot service plan!?
Great job putting into a nice package, what I’ve been thinking about for awhile. Microsoft gets a B- from me on Copilot. This is up from the D- it would have got back in October.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad it's moving toward being a better experience for you. Hopefully by the time of the 2-year review video most users will be consistently at an A grade!
This week was a divisor with Copilot Pro for me. I was really annoyed with the results I was getting, till i they released the function that enabled me to build my GPT with Copilot Pro. It was a game changer. Need improvments, but it's a big step.
Thanks for watching. What was your first GPT for?
I've made a GPT that helps me to formulate learning outcomes based on Bloom's Taxonomy. I've had some difficulties getting it to use the attached files, but besides that, it's amazing!
Copilot pro still not in philippines
Thanks for watching. Hopefully soon!
Hah! Yeah, I tried Copilot for M365 and told it to take a PowerPoint file and spruce it up a bit. It thought for a moment and then came back saying it doesn't know how to open the file.
If you’re having trouble grabbing the file pasting in the link from onedrive can be a solution. With Copilot for Microsoft 365 (but not copilot pro) it should be able to refer to other files.
@@brightideasagency That's what I thought and I've seen the demo by Microsoft online, but it was like... Huh? 😅
To be clear, if you are licensed for Copilot for Microsoft 365, and Copilot in PowerPoint cannot access the content of your files then something is set up wrong. Copilot can build slides from certain file types, this is a current feature.
@brightideasagency Maybe? I mean, you just procure the license and then assign it to a user, right? Is there a step I missed?
