    The new Copilot does suck badly!!! Mine just updated to an annoying AI that thinks its funny and I can't change its annoying personality. I was working in chat for several minutes and when I maximized the window the chat re-directed to yesterdays chat. When I shared the issue with Copilot it began to answer in a sarcastic way and I asked it to respond directly but it kept trying to be human despite me telling it that I do not like how its responding. When I asked what could have possibly happened to my previous chat and it said once its over its gone forever, but I back in the chat from yesterday. This video is outdated and I think its obsolete now. I hope this update does not effect the paid version in Office 365.

    I find it very confusing that we need two solutions, both containing the custom connector, to be able to import it in some managed environment. Seems counterintuitive. I would much rather have the one solution with the custom connectors and the other with just the app and references.

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 2 дня назад

      The components included in a solution are those items it depends on to work, so it needs to carry with it that reference or else it wouldn’t be able to ensure the environment has the right foundational resources. Think of solutions are layers where each layer has to carry with it info on what it depends on.

    I began using Loop in OneNote because I like the structure elements involved, but after doing a number of tests, I began to see its shortcomings. I didn't even think about the search feature until I saw your video. Even today, the search doesn't work within OneNote for a Loop component, at least on the desktop version. That alone eliminates it as a functional component for me. Thanks for the heads-up!

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 5 дней назад

      Thanks for watching. Yes, search is a problem, and I doubtful whether it's a problem that will get fixed with any priority as the data is literally somewhere else when it comes to that component.

  • @DocDirk
    @DocDirk 6 дней назад

    I find it very underwhelming. This is just a shortcut 'send to loop'. It will be usefull, as sometimes I want to continue editing information in Loop. But it's hardly a time saver. There wasn't really a problem with just copying information into a Loop page as i did before. I think it is troublesome that Microsoft has now 'adressed' collaboration with AI in this manner. And we still are not able to collaborate on interacting with AI. Al hopes are now on the Copilot teammember 😇😇

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 6 дней назад

      Agreed. Send to loop is not unhelpful. But that is what it is and without a send to work or send to OneNote, it feels incomplete in the context of M365 integration

    Hello, Thank you for the informative video. Just getting started with Shifts and I am needing to offer "open" shifts, but hoping there is a function that allows an employee to pick up a part or partial portion of the open shift. Is this possible?

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 5 дней назад

      Short answer. No. Longer answer. Can you split up the shifts so they are broken into the partial components someone might pick up. I also think based on the degree of access we have to modify shifts data to build a custom workflow that perhaps allows an employee to pick up a shift and then maybe drop them a card that allows them to change the timing - however this would get complex if you then needed to republish the available shift pieces. Out of the box, publishing the shift in parts would probably be the solution I’d advise.

    Copilot pages seems to be an upcoming replacement for many of the things onenote can do. It's essentially loop in one note with its workspaces, pages and sublinks. While I wish it had the editibility of chatgpt canvas, it's a good foundation, but I agree that many of Microsoft's new tech rollouts seem to be half assed, and often overlap with and cannibalise their already existing apps.

    Honestly - In the business cases I've set up around Copilot, it doesn't require a lot of effectiveness to to do ROI on like 3-4 months even with a lot of licenses. Problem is - that the "time" saved from everyday optimization, isn't going back into the CFO pocket and that return on "more time for value adding work" will take a long time to show it's face 😅

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 10 дней назад

      I think this is the key point. If you're lucky you find the salespeople with Copilot are just selling more, but in a lot of situations the return just isn't this straightforward. This is why I feel those more subjective outputs are valuable - do users *feel* this tool is helping them? Is it making them happier or more engaged? And how convinced are we that these sort of changes result in benefits down the road? My take is that these are the most important benefits, but many CFOs probably would have to be convinced. On the other hand though - showing a $30/mo impact with average salaries where they are isn't a high bar if that's the floor of what we need.

  • @MarcRohde
    @MarcRohde 14 дней назад

    Beyond Copilot, some of the features of Devle have been exposed in Connections. Since connections is integrated in the Engage branding this feel like they are simply eliminating the duplication to bring capabilities into the current branding. I do share the frustration that MS needs to get more clear about their path an eliminate duplication -- example I fully expect that Loop will replace OneNote at some point but they are going about it in a very strange way. If this wasn't the case I don't understand why they didn't just put the resource into improving loop integration with OneNote.

      At this point, I think all the major AI vendors have promises on backlog that are yet to appear. Good Video Nick, like a lot of people, I've had a foot in both camps as a MS 365 copilot user and google workspaces user being an avid GMail supporter from day 1. I will keep MS copilot subscription going as it's presently a marginal cost and suits me as I use all sorts of 365 apps. However, Google is catching up as are others. Its latest NotebookLM offering has fantastic promise and even will take one of my long and dry consultancy reports on an esoteric subject and give me a breezy podcast on it to publish. As you say about teams use, I also find my clients want to use their teams account which is a real downer. Also the promise of Copilot studio has been souring as you get into what's necessary to load, say an excel file with tables and have it indexed and return proper citations. MS better pull up their socks because the competition is not sitting still and coming for their lunch.

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 16 дней назад

      Thanks David. I am impressed by how quickly Google is adding value after a slow start. I still think for M365 organizations, Copilot is the right solution for the average user not that interested in AI. But you are right that options around extensibility need to continue to improve, as it is still far to convoluted for someone to just make the AI consistently reason over a defined set of sources.

    Thank you for your videos. In terms of Bookings, there are specifics I do not see in your videos. A-you cannot brand a personal Bookings page with your company logo. Unprofessional so cannot use. B-When an event is scheduled through Shared since this CAN be branded, you can SEE it in your Outlook calendar but with no specifics as in WHO is attending the meeting. You have to go to your Bookings calendar. C-you cannot change the meeting title to add a company or attendee name. D-If you add a buffer time before/after a meeting, it shows up on you Outlook calendar INCLUDING that buffer time now the actual start time. Would love to know if I have this wrong or you DO have a video around this. Thank you

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency 18 дней назад

      There are notes added into the confirmation of the request that contain more granular details. This can be somewhat confusing, and it's essential if you're using features like buffer time to ensure all team members are trained to understand what they are seeing when a request comes in. The personal bookings page is a lot less flexible, but because it operates as your calendar rather than a shared intermediary, subsequently managing those bookings is easier. A compromise for shared calendars can be to use the Virtual Appointments app, which gives you a slightly neater view of appointments on shared bookings calendars. The right solutions depends on the size of your team, and for some uses Bookings just doesn't have a rich enough feature set to compete with others like Calendly.

      The intent is certainly similar, but the execution much more aligned with where we stand now in terms of web technology primacy. Loop/Fluid as a generalized tooling, probably has a lot more to offer than OLE if deeply integrated into each app. The execution of it in building a new Loop app and seemingly de-prioritizing the broad and equal integration across M365 is where I see the misstep. And several months on from this video, and post the announcement of Loop-based Copilot Pages, my concerns remain substantially the same.

    • @galporgy

      It’ll be quietly killed off in the next reorg/rebrand. The #1 enemy of fancy collab apps is email attachments. The vast majority of M365 users can barely share OneDrive folders, they simply don’t care about elegant abstractions. Slack took off because it offered users a paradigm they were already familiar with, texting. Loop is a bridge too far.

      That's odd. The only caveats I can see in the post are "Copilot Academy is available in 8 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese". So, I guess regional settings may be limiting visibility. There isn't anything that would suggest regional differences.

    yea sure more economical, but Microsoft is a company and other companies like MS should just go under.. sure its nice with O365, you dont need the horrible Exchange server on a 24 node cluster. But still all these "clouds" services that Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle are selling is fucking both the users and the workforce within IT.. only good thing with o365 is i dont need Windows anymore...

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency Месяц назад

      The objective reality is that Microsoft's cloud is astronomically more resilient than anything most, even fairly large, businesses could build on their own. Does that make it infallible? No. But the alternative of a couple of racks of servers in your company's basement isn't infallible either. It really depends on what you're trying to build. However, the point is that if you've bought M365, but you store all your files in Dropbox, unless that's a decision you've taken for well thought out technical or security reasons, you're just wasting money buying the same service twice. You'd be surprised how examples of this type of inadvertent wastage come up.

    Can the PL-900 certification help in landing an entry-level job if someone has no previous working experience in IT?

    • @brightideasagency
      @brightideasagency Месяц назад

      On its own? Highly unlikely. I think it depends on what job you're actually looking for. IT teams benefit from the experience and transferable skills that come with a track record of success in different types of roles, and this can be really valuable to designing and building low-code solutions. In that case, PL-900 might be helpful to enable you to understand how your existing skills are relevant to the opportunities of low-code creation.

    Super update - as usal fantiastic level of detail and insight. You mention Word (6:35) and on screen show RFP capabilities. Very interesteing if it indeed works. You mention MS has claimed it to roll out 'during sept'. Wonder if this also will apply for EU Do you happen to know or care to make a qualified guess please ? I sit with the impression EU countries do not stand 'first in line' to get the new stuff?

      @brightideasagency Месяц назад

      Copilot in Word is already great for those kinds of mixed input document creation tasks (an RFP template + some notes to add for example), what's changing is the list of types of documents/sources you'll be able to use. I would guess that this type of iterative update will roll out across M365 Copilot worldwide as it isn't a change that alters anything such as how the EU data boundary works for these tools (the data is already in Europe, the Copilot features can now access more of it).

    one would automatically assume this to be the case for future development of any ai, redundant info.. sry..

      Given that this isn't the focus of all AI product platforms, I'm unsure why one would automatically assume this. This is a particularly rich feature offering with Copilot.

    Based on my current experience and knowledge of Apple Intelligence, I anticipate waiting until the release of the iPhone 17. Firstly, the announced features will be gradually introduced over several months, resulting in limited access to their full potential for an extended period. It is possible that the next iPhone and iOS version will be unveiled at WWDC next year, which may provide further insights into the capabilities of Apple Intelligence. Secondly, many of the features that I am personally interested in require collaboration between third-party developers and Apple’s App Intents and Spotlight indexing technologies. Unfortunately, many developers have not yet fully explored or implemented these technologies, and even Apple itself has not fully supported its built-in automation tools (Shortcuts and AppleScript) after their availability for several years. Furthermore, the rapid evolution of automation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies makes it challenging to predict future developments. This rapid pace of change could lead to significant disruptions that may even result in a shift away from using Microsoft or Apple products in the near future. In terms of the future and cloud computing, I anticipate a substantial disruption in the SaaS services and even traditional on-device applications. Consequently, I am more interested in accessing local hardware power and connecting it via private internet tunnels rather than focusing on the offerings of SaaS services like Microsoft 365, Amazon AWS, or others. We are on the cusp of truly useful virtual assistants. If you have not viewed the 1987 Knowledge Navigator RUclips video, I recommend revisiting it in the near future. Pay particular attention to the visual elements and their absence.
