- In their recreation of the classic Transistor Bass, Roland added a new programming mode alongside the classic programming. In this quick tutorial, we explore the new step programming mode with some examples on how to use it together with the random pattern generation.
Great Demonstration 👍 many Thanks
To me, it does sound like a bass without increasing the resonance, decay, cut off freq etc.
So...just like Rebirth?
i swear(ed) by the original programming mode 'cause that will introduce (many) random/unintentional errors or nice finds but maybe i should have a look into the new programming mode too / the random2 looks promising // i wish ROLAND made a function switch to (MIDI) dump all the settings of the knobs etc (per pattern)
I really like that they have both the new and old programming modes available. Personally, I always hated that aspect of the original 303, but I appreciate the new random function.
I watched this video yesterday and for some reason I thought you managed to get more than 16 steps in a pattern. I swore I saw it go up to 32 steps, and I went crazy trying to figure it out, but I must have been dreaming :)
you simply cycle 2 patterns
rody74 I know how to do that. I thought I saw the step count on the LCD go up to 32.
hey man, awesome video! on mine when i hold function and scroll on value knob I cant set it to step mode. wondering if you knew how to help, thank you.
Hold down the function key and scroll with the value knob until the screen says mode. Now let go of the function key and it will bring you to a sub menu. Scroll with the value knob to select step mode or original mode and then press function to select it
@@gibberishdump1610 hey thank you man

What usb cable you using there!?
I had to check :) It's just a regular black USB cable, nothing special.
Stochastic Design haha thanks for checking! I was wondering as it looks like it has a fancy bit on it. I am in search of usb cables that dont make noise on boutiques
Well, I got the suggestion to use cables with the "lump" on them, as it is a ferrite bead that supposedly reduces electromagnetic interference, so that would be the fancy bit :)
Stochastic Design yes indeed!! I need me some of them cables tasty!!
shit, i was trying to not get one. uhhhhh
p dot useful, ty
