@@Flokarl1 Superpower nation should not be in volved in EUs own security matters. in the long term EU does not need NATO with one super power nation in volved.
@@Flokarl1 That is good to know, but as a Finn & Finlandsvensk, we try to keep our own turf&sky clear from any hostile&devious neighbor country, and many understand this. History has shown us how bad it can get. The JAS 39 is a good aircraft. but true, the choice for the F-35 was a bit of overkill, but said and done deal. And I also feel it was a bit of politics involved. There were a few aircraft providers in the selection process. One thing to remember, flight conditions&runways year around a bit different over here. A JAS 39 can handle most of it with a minimum staff around doing ground work.

Maby the american fighter jets F35 have some advanich over JAS, but the swedish is mutch cheaper, and specially cost per flight hour.
We can´t argue about the F-35 or Gripen E. All our neighbors said no to us! We are not good enough.

The finnish have shot themselves in their own foot when the chose F-35 a thechnical heavy costs airplane with problems with upgrading the software.
