Lived in USA for a long time. Over there many (possibly all) cities have emergency sirens that are tested once a week. Also a warning system that is broadcast with loud alert noise via radio, tv and smart phones, which is also tested every week. A couple of times, I experienced live warnings of high likelihood of tornados. It was interesting to me since it was not something I had experienced in the UK. Seemed pretty useful although with the UK not usually impacted by mass shooting events or extreme weather I can’t imagine it will be used much here.

I have a relative who was in US & got emergency alert re a tornado heading in his direction, gave time to seek shelter and found out afterwards that he would have met the tornado and would have been travelling on the same interstate at the same time ax the tornado
Thanks to the emergency alert he was safe even though his travel plans were delayed

Excellent to see you. Watched the live with Funky great fun . I'll email you on how to turn off all the sensors on your phone ( Needs to be Android ) nobody will be able to use your camera microphone or the many built in movement sensors. Best bit is the phone still sends and recieve's calls. You will end up with a switch to turn sensors on and off.

My phone has just reminded me I was in Weymouth this time in 2019 and how long I was driving, walking ,in the pub and on the beach, yet I never have my location turned on ,work that one out

Go into Settings, Applications, or Notifications ... explore there is way to turn them off too.

I suspect they chose St.George's day on purpose to distract from it.
I am currently moored very close to Tesco in Rugeley. At 3.00pm I intend to be in Tesco to see how many people have phones that go off, and to see what noise it makes. Personally, my phone will be turned off, wrapped in foil inside a metal box on my boat, with all the alerts turned off also.
I agree Richard why now? I've turned my emergency Alarms off.
giving them the benefit of doubt, they prob want to have a shout method before they defund the bbc
(4:05) *MATE* , it’s installed in the firmware of the phone, it’s not a phone call or a text, it’s an inbuilt alarm that they pre-installed on your phone’s secretly, Jesus….. 😂

I made sure my phone had a flat battery at 3pm. I heard other phones go off and mine was in blissful silence. Until I plugged it in again! The alert came out via text with an alarm. First text time at 14.59 and the next at 15.14. So somewhere something recorded that the message hadn't been received on my phone the first time, so sent a second one!

My phone is an old motorola, I haven't had the ability to update it since 2018, it's that old! So there was no option for 'Emergency Alerts' in the settings, until this morning when that option miraclously appeared, and it seems I did in fact recieve an alert !
So it seems the government can update my phone, but I can't !!

Richard ive just watched this vlog and we have just had storm banette, whete were the gvt emergency alerts? Or didnt i hear them this time as well?
My 3G builders brick type non smart phone was on and never got ANY message. Chuck the smart phones down the loo.
I have so far kept awat from smart phones, just got a cheap and simple nokia so I am glad to say I will not be pestered by the alarm. Do have a tablet that runs on android and I have already changed the settings so that will not be getting the alert on that either.
Place the phones in a microwave, microwaves are Faraday cages the esse will allow raidowaves in thru the window.
Looked at your list of videos and there are 5 from the last two days then it skips to 1 year ago! Very strange what comi tube are up too.
Also your on a three month ban but have put two videos out since the ban?
