Disclaimer: Not everyone is going to experience these issues with their Husqvarna 701, some people go 50,000 miles without a single issue, some people ride 10 miles down the road with a brand new one and something goes wrong, it’s just one of those things. I’m simply just pointing out the issues I’ve experienced with this bike and from what I’ve read on 701 owners pages, it seems like I’m not the only one. As for the oil consumption problem that seems to be ok now since I’ve done an oil change. Sometimes the bike could just be faulty, maybe it’s down to the rider or maybe you’re just super unlucky, but as with most problems, there’s usually an easy fix. I’ve never really done work on any bikes, this is the only bike I’ve worked on by myself and find it very easy and quite fun tbh, I still really enjoy this bike despite it’s problems.
I wasn’t sure about these, I’m on on a 125 but, I went on my mates ktm 690 supermoto, HOLY SHIT! I am fucking getting a supermoto as soon as I do my A2 holy fuck I CANNOT WAIT!!!
Mate how many close calls are you gonna get away with, I swear your police are like GTA police. They don't give a shit about anything until you crash into them😂
I have the orange twin 2019 SMC R here, clutch started slipping not long after buying it new, and has just got worse ever since... even after equipping with oberon slave cyclinder. But yeah also, these bikes are an AMAZING ride
The problem with the slave cylinder is the o-rings on the piston. A pair of correct sized hydraulic o-rings that can handle brake fluid should solve the problem. Of course Oberon, etc want to sell a whole new assembly for big money when all we really need are suitable o-rings on the stock slave piston that should cost less than a cheap lunch. It baffles me that KTM hasn't come to grips with this problem yet. Who knows - I have a '23 701 Enduro and it is still fine, as is my '18 300 XC. Just lucky I guess. I do need to upgrade my 701's cam chain tensioner, Dirt Tricks sells a good one. My 701 has rattly cam chain at start up syndrome. Very interested in popping in stiffer clutch springs. EBC offers a set, not terribly impressed with those from the videos I see. They are shorter than stock, same wire and overall diameter. Last time I did a clutch spring upgrade was on my TL1000S with Barnett springs. Those were stiffer and longer. The TL had a lotta torque, but the Barnett springs fixed that bike's clutch slip issue. They were a pretty manly pull at the lever though 😄
If I had to go for any other bike as my 2nd bike, I'd probably go for an MT-09, MT-10, Nuda 900R or a Ducati Hypermotard, an R1 has peaked my interest for a third bike after testing one if I ever get that rich 🤣 But to actually answer your question, even though this sucks for long journeys, I put up with it because it's so fun to ride 😭👀
That's basically what people starting out do, it's a bad habit, all it takes is one hazard to make you panic, grab it and ruin your day, just ride normally lol
I’m in a group with people that have had one for 80,000+ miles now, still going strong. Mine is coming up to its 12,000 mile service, only issue was the clutch plates but that’s down to abuse from the previous owner and not telling me about them when I got the bike.
I have a 2020 701 , within 250 miles clutch slave went .... but still love the bike , nearly 3k on it now and every min as been beautiful:) where you based mate ?
Im.looking at a used 701 2017 with 6k miles or getting a new 2022. I might just jump into the new one. But I dont wana mess with big bore kits etc and the 701 has the diceplacement some of the others don't.
I could be wrong but if you look on RUclips at Husqvarna 701 Supermoto 2021 clutch slave gone wrong some people have had them breakdown after like 10 miles etc seems to be one of those things that just randomly happens if you’re super unlucky, as for clutch plates, depending on how you ride, I’ve heard people having to replace them every 10k-15k miles but you’ll know when they need replacing as you’ll feel it slipping real bad.
@@ReevyMotovlogs wow…everyone I know (a lot) have had the slave go,only one clutch has gone down due to a difficult hill climb…the gear shifter star went on mine too ! Been fine since I fixed it all, shame Husky didn’t bother…thanks for responding…I still like these, but it’s been a bit disappointing as a NEW bike…(my first)
Yeah mine had a few issues, I did end up replacing the slave cylinder too, the build quality isn’t great on these bikes as I found out a bit later down the line. Still love the bike but just wasn’t everything I thought it was.
But a lot of 701 owners have experienced these problems, not saying everyone is going to have this happen to them, you can find these happening on 2021 models on RUclips literally after 20 miles.
The lc4 engines in these bikes (701 and 690) are stupid reliable, pretty much bulletproof, mine has 60.000km with zero issues and ive heard people with way more, never changed rocker arms or anything, only oil changes and valve adjustment. Service is key.

My local ktm dealer said up to 0.5L per 1000km was normal oil consumption for the LC4 engines, watch the oil level people :D
These videos keep getting better and better
Could you do a video on your gear set up ?
Updated video coming soon I got you bro
I showed the cops a wheelie once.. ended up having to walk home cause the bastards impounded it!

My 2020 690 slave cyl went at 4700KM.Replaced with upgrade under warr.

It's a great 2nd bike thats just used for fun. Would you ever get a cheap bike for long rides?

great content man! still here to see u ride!

Why dont you keep your right pointing finger on the right brake lever? To stabilize throttle control more?

*Ay Reevy, for a Husky 701 what is the maximum mileage a husky 701 can last for?*

Great wheels fun day
cable to a power bank instead this is what we are thinking of doing. Will only take official batteries.
Good idea, actually use to have a power bank on the back of my helmet 😂
So if you had to make a choice would you go with the 2021 mt07 or 2021 ktm 690/ husqvarna 701?

It’s not the plates,it’s either the slave,or the master cylinder rubber has deformed…
This is an old video and actually it was the plates, they were worn, I rebuilt the clutch and it fixed the problem.

350 miles yday my neck back shoulders butt cheeks are FXCKED haha but its supermoto or no moto!!!!!!!
KTM and its derivatives are superb to ride, sadly reliability and warranty are absolutely terrible. Keep away.
