What trans will fit in a 97 Dakota? I already tried a trans out of a 96 ram 1500 both have the 5.2 v8 magnum but the bell housing was different
My old 97 ram would not shift out of 1st grear when my low gas light came on...

I was looking forward to you hitting it with a two by four, lol! That press came in handy. I think I'd be able to take it apart but I'm not sure about putting it back together. I'd have a bugger of a time remembering where everything goes. Thanks for the video, looking forward to more!

I still would have heated it up because the side metal would it be expanded and it would have loosened it up when he pressed it.

Yes this tranmission is compatible with the 5.9 360 engine.
Does anybody know what transmission a v6 92 dodge has? I don't know if it's a 42rh or a 46re

doubt it. bellhousing is different.
Nope 93-95 only. I have a 95 5.9 and just got mine rebuilt yesterday. Its the best thing to do. They are hard to find and if found a used one your taking a chance of being bad.

Depends on the year. Anything older than 98 is hydraulically controlled.
@@ldragonheart so a 1996 is NOT hydraulically controlled but a 2000 is?
@@bryanhauschild4376 You can tell the difference I believe just by what the transmission is called. If it's a 46re, it's electronically controlled, if it's 46rh, it's hydraulic controlled. You can call dodge dealerships to verify if you have the VIN. I'm not sure if vin decoders online specify exactly what transmission it has.
When it goes in and out of overdrive it might be your brake switch
can i take a 46re from a 1996 dodge pickup and put into my 2000?
Bryan Hauschild it depends on what motor and if it has the same transmission all 46re’s from I think 94’ to 02’ will fit the 5.2
Nick Lamo 5.9, its my understanding now that it will not, even though they both are RE’s.

Dont forget to wrap and powder coat the car with a box of blunts and some baby powder! Otherwise your shifting won't be 2i2ljcal!
