@@jay1373 If you were taught that at Civics class, you were deceived. What's the point of having a state?
You paying taxes and getting nothing in exchange? Does not exist in the USA a modicum of public education, some minimum healthcare, a bit of housing - and some law and order protection? Isn't all of that the state helping you, a bit?
In civilized countries, there's more help to people, and people live safer, happier lives.
I highly recommend you to look for videos of American expats and travelers telling their experiences of having a disease or accident in other country, going to a hospital, getting good care, and not being bankrupt in the process. Or getting an education. That's what happens when the state's budget is oriented to the people and not to the military, and when its goal is to help the people and not the corporations (cutting taxes to them - which impoverishes the state and makes it unable to help people).
Ever wondered why there's one political party that always talks about enhancing the military, cutting taxes to the companies - and eliminating school lunches, food coupons, and Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, as their ultimate goal? And tells you that's unfair to help some people, that fairness is not helping anyone? Jesus Christ teachings, anyone? One country under God, or under what?
So, it is taught in Civics class. That's why you think that your Independence War was a revolution. It wasn't.

My point is that Elmo is made out of felt and is not a human with thoughts or emotions so she’s unable to even read or process any of the responses much less empathize. It’s a guy making a puppets mouth move and likely a team of people getting paid to run a twitter/X account for said puppet as if it was alive and autonomous.

Once you turn off social media and conduct life in a more "human way", e.g., time with family/friends, a walk in the park, reading a good book, enjoying a nice, home-cooked meal, you suddenly realize that actually, you are doing great! "It's the media, stupid!".......especially Far Right media that's making people "feel" much, much worse than they actually are. Take care of yourself, folks......

It's also the cost of living vs. most people's earning ability. People are depressed because they are working themselves to death for zero or even negative reward. This is why they don't walk, recreate or socialize with loved ones. They are too tired and just need to eat, decompress and sleep for the 5 hours they're allowed, before going right back to it again. No amount of "deep belly breathing" is going to fix the chronic, wholesale exploitation of labor and consumers alike in this country.

@@starshake8998 "People are depressed because they are working themselves to death for zero or even negative reward.".....important mental health tip. Don't use the media headlines to form opinions. Do 30 minutes of fact-finding. One example, the average hours worked per week has declined over the last 20 years or so. There HAS been some issues, though. For example, the average hourly wage has not increased in parallel with the cost of living, so most people have slightly less expendable income than their parents. This, too, is improving fast as the Feds, states and unions are adopting higher minimum wages and securing better contracts, We have never had a perfect world and never will, but relatively-speaking Americans are vastly better off now than previous generations. Examples are numerous, e.g., more people with health insurance due to Obamacare, we're living longer (minus the COVID setback), and critical medications are becoming less expensive (Bidens recent cap on some prescription drugs, e.g.).....many reasons to feel gratitude versus frustration, but you need to use quality facts to do so.

Whether they are doing it for altruistic reasons as well or only as a marketing campaign it's good to see Sesame Street responding with all these additional materials instead of just playing it as a fun viral thing. That's what you need America, and that's what everyone needs.
