  • QUICK AND EASY! Replacing the knock sensor on a 7th gen 2004-2009 2006 Honda Accord 4 cylinder automatic WITHOUT removing the whole intake etc.
Worked great for me, just thought I'd put my two cents out there.
I was able to snap in the connector using just my hands.
Obviously make sure the engine is cold!
Look at the video below for a close up of how to pinch the connector to release it.
Shop time for this is 3 hours!!! I did this in 25 mins.
I have a $16 part from amazon and was going to order the $100 OEM part when I realized how much work it was. But then I came across the below video and decided to give it a try. I'll eventually update this video to review the sensor itself too.
EDIT: don’t buy the cheapo knockoff, it didn’t work. Go for the NTK brand it’s been problem free for 40k miles now!
Thanks to this video: • Replace Honda knock se...

It’s definitely not an easy location. A shop will charge you an hour or so because they’ll remove that whole aluminum intake and some other stuff off for easy access.
With some patience, dexterity and the right tools like shown in my video, it took my 20mins.
BTW get a OEM or at least good name brand replacement because the cheapo Chinese one didn’t work!

      @@dawinkstaI have the same car.
The shop has the following estimate:
Parts: Ignition knock sensor, Intake Manifold set/Engine manifold gasket set.
Labor: Scan on-board systems, diagnose systems/component faults (1 hr)
Remove & Replace: Intake manifold & Knock sensor (2.75 hrs.)
Does this seem reasonable, or excessive?

It took me 20 minutes as outlined in this video and I didn’t need any of that stuff.

The cheapo Amazon sensor DID NOT WORK!
I got an NTK one that’s been fine.
