If you want to know what is knock sensor, and what knock sensor is used for on your car in this video we will explain that. Most people do not know what is knock sensor but it is very important to ensure that your car runs at its best. Never drive with bad knock sensor especially do not drive with bad knock sensor for long time because it can cause expensive damage to the engine and the exhaust system. Most small engine car will have 1 knock sensor if you have a v6 or v8 engine you most likely will have 2 knock sensors. In addition some straight six cylinder engine will use 2 knock sensor system as well. Hopefully the video will be helpful to anyone that needs to know what the knock sensor is for and where the knock sensor is located on your car engine.

So my 2015 Kia Soul (4cyclinder) is showing code P1326 and code P0014 so are you saying that with both showing I need to have my crankshaft bearings replaced or simple replace the knock sensor only... Thanks

Hi, I have Nissan X Trail T30 , model year 2004 . I have P0328 error code (Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High) . The Ex owner installed LPG system in to car but I dont use it. I use Gas. I checked the code definations that ıt says the reasons should be.
Faulty knock sensor 1, bank 1
Open or short in knock sensor circuit wiring
Failed ECU
Wrong octane fuel or lean air fuel ration
Engine is overheating
Low fuel pressure
I am sure I dont have any problem on last 2 reasons. In my case Can I continue to drive for some time without fixing it ?

Knock sensors are detrimental to the fuel and timing. Yall asking if it's OK to drive around for months. Sure it is, but when you burn a hole in your piston or wash out the cylinder walls with excess fuel you gonna need a new engine. Get it fixed, you will spend more on fuel in a month then the part cost.

Can it cause black smoke out tailpipe sam color black on sparkplugs?
Thats due to unburnt fuel, you might need a 02 sensor or adjust your carburetor if you have one

Infuriating that the ECU can identify a bad knock sensor and throw a code but cannot default to an "average" setting. Instead it goes to full lean or full rich

What does a bad knock sensor sound like? I have a loud ticking noise on start up that quiets down when warm but there is still a prevalent tick that gets faster with acceleration. Any ideas?
I have the same problem, it detects a failed knock sensor, 2 months a go a did a engine rebuild on seat Ibiza 1.6 petrol, soon mechanic will take a look and see what's the problem

@@kingmike838 yes when I drive it sucks at launch I’ll floor it an it won’t go an once I hit 40 it’ll jump to 60 in 3 seconds it’s weird asf an I’ve switched the knock sensor out already an the same p0325 code keeps coming up even after I replaced it
