- The 2021 Mazda CX-30 electronic parking brake can be a little tricky when you first try to drive the car. It automatically engages when you turn the car off. After cranking the car, you have to disengage it manually. You can do this two ways. The first is to push the switch down to disengage the brake. The second is to buckle your seatbelt and then lightly press the accelerator to disengage. This is actually a great safety feature for parking and driving. However, can be bothersome when moving the car around the yard or driveway. The second feature included is the Auto Hold. This is really convenient in stopped or stop and go traffic. When engaged by pressing the button, you can relax your foot from the brake and it will hold the car. Then you can engage movement by lightly pressing the accelerator.
Is there any way to cancel the parking brake for good? So Only if i want i will put parking brake.
Its annoying to release it every time i start the car.
Just purchased new Mazda xx 30 2024. So to be clear, I do not have to disengage the park break when I drive - it does it automatically?
Any way to set the brake hold switch to always be on? It’s a pain to always turn it on as I always use this feature. I have a 21 CX-5 GTR.
Thank you so much I accidentally pressed it and it would not unpress no matter what I did. I hate this car so much I wish it had a physical brake and not a button.
I use the auto hold on long drive Thru lines it’s great!

Nothing is more annoying then that automatically engaging parking brake. How do I turn off that thing permanently?? I followed the manual instructions but that thing is still engaging. Super annoying!!
I’m not sure how. The newer models disengage automatically. So it may be software update.
New 2022 CX 30 with 800 mi. Started the car and put it in reverse to back up but it wouldn’t move! Turned it off and started it again and this time it worked as it should. That’s concerning to say the least! Advice?
Jonathon why does the CX-30 not have heated outside mirrors as do other Mazdas? Will they be added on Premium or not at all?
They aren’t available on the CX-30 or Mazda3 at the moment in America. I believe the CX-30 Turbo Premium may have them.
@@JSS I am afraid the gas mileage on the turbo will be too low compared to the regular engine. Too bad.
How does the wireless car play work on the cx5 2021 model? No one is talking about it. It says in the Mazda’s website it has wireless car play on the Gt. models and up.
The Canadian edition CX-5 does have Wireless CarPlay. The US model does not. You add it to your device from the settings menu in iOS.

There has to be a way to disable this feature permanently. I have the 2021 cx30 turbo premium plus. I love the car, but HATE this feature.

Biggest pain in the ass feature of the Mazda CX-30. I hate it and so does my dealer - I will not buy this again. What if valet parking doesn't know its there?
I don’t think there would be any damage as long as they are stomping on accelerator while engaged.
@@JSS Thanks for the answer but I of course I don't like any chance for unnecessary repair or maintenance on a new car. My problem is that my car also may need to be moved at work by others and they will definitely not bother with the seat belt. I give Mazda a big fail for this.
@@DRthistle You're complaining about it not automatically releasing the parking brake if you try to drive away without a seat belt on? If you (or your coworkers) are really insistent, you can disengage it manually. It's not difficult; just push the button.

Anyone commenting asking how to disengage the automatic parking brake have you tried reading your owners manual, it literally tells you step by step how to do it 4 -67.

Press the Start button without putting your foot on the brake. This will activate accessory mode.

Not good in a car wash on neutral, my car did not move after the wash ended, so I panicked then I manually disengaged it

@@ajackson-ross7295 info button allows you to cycle thru the various trip odometers and total miles odo.
Press the "trip" button on bottom left of the display panel. It toggles between total mileage, trip a and trip b.

Yeah, it says “so you don’t get used to features other cars don’t have” they have you turn it on every time you start the car :)

@@netwak I was curious what the reasoning was. As mildly annoying as it is, it makes sense... although, for me, the result is that I occasionally roll an inch at a red light before realizing I haven't turned it on yet.
@@yosef8377 I can say that the 2018 Mazda 6 works identically to the CX-30 in the video, as far as I can tell, so the 2020 version should as well. Sometimes, I choose to manually engage the parking brake (sometimes, it does so automatically; I don't know exactly how it decides). I never need to manually disengage it.

Love Auto Hold. Do not like the parking brake. Parking brakes were simple, cheap to replace and multi functional. Electronic parking brakes are none of these.
I agree why can't it unengaged as soon as you take it out of Park. I really hate it. Also if you lend your car to somebody you have to give them a tutorial they won't remember.
Fair. They do the job, though, even if you feel they're overengineered, and don't take significant muscle power to use, unlike some pedal types I've encountered, haha.
Why they don't disengage immediately upon shifting I couldn't tell you authoritatively, but my guess is that the engineers felt it was safer to disengage it automatically only when you indicate an explicit intention to move, that is, press the accelerator.
@@DRthistle I have the 2022 and it disengages as soon I shift the gears. Maybe they updated it

Was just in a supermarket car park in one of these. Couldn't reverse out of the parking space because the handbrake wouldn't release. It's a courtesy car. Left the fecking thing in the car park and walked home.
Edit: went back to car, and this time there was only one car parked next to it, so I didn't get the "check your surroundings are safe" message and was able to reverse out. Got home, couldn't get out of the car. All doors locked and wouldn't release. Had to faff around with the stupid fob before I could get out. Mazda = absolute joke.
That is not the design. You may have encountered a defective vehicle. It should be taken in for service.
@@Corrodias It was a courtesy car, so I wasn't really that bothered about it. That said, I eventually ended up keeping it for almost a week, instead of a day, because both rear suspension springs had snapped on my Mazda 2 (just the latest in many many faults it's had, including the head gasket going kaput after less than 5 years from new, and with low mileage). The dealer couldn't get the replacement springs for 5 days. Shabby.
@@Corrodias to be fair, the CX-30 performed well after the first day. I switched off the parking sensor thing and had no further troubles with it.
