- In this video, I'm going to show you how to make your own homemade lavender soap from scratch. It's going to smell amazing with a delicious blend of lavender essential oil and I am using a plant to give an all natural colour too using madder root! Soap making is a wonderful traditional craft and cold process soapmaking is fairly simple, it doesn't require any complicated ingredients or tools, and the results are so rewarding. So sit back, relax, and let me show you how I make mine and maybe it will inspire you to try making soap too. You can find the full recipe below if you fancy making this recipe at home.

Gorgeous colour 😍
It really is, I think it's actually better in person. Thanks for supporting us and stopping by Nerina :)
Wow. Amazing soaps...
So glad you enjoyed it Zakir
Thank you for a really interesting vid. Could you tell me if the colour stains wash cloths, enamel, skin etc etc. please?
Lightly affects the lather but I havent seen any staining
Do you notice any colour difference if you use a light olive oil to the final colour outcome? Fab Vid, as always Sarah. Thank you for sharing xx
I haven't noticed a colour change and I do use both :)
Did the soaps get lighter in shade as they set up? They look very similar to the previous video (beautiful!).
Hi Anne, no they stay pretty much the same. The ones from a few months ago haven't changed at all. You may get some change if they were super pale though
@@SoapSchoolUK Thanks, that's really useful to know. They're very pretty.
@@annekirrin9068 Thank you x
Hi! Can you replace the palm oil with another oil?
So to get a purple color use about 1 gram of madder per lb oil oil in a recipe?
For a deep purple yes but even at 0.5g per lb you can achieve a good purple
I made this 3 times. Followed the direction exactly. My color is between gray and burgundy. Not at all purple. If I follow yr direction about the amount, it makes a very light dirty color. And gets discolored after a while. Yours look very beautiful but I think I give up.
I buy mine from The Wonky Weaver its awesome!
Love you're channel. I'm not a fan of the palm oil, could i replace it with something else? thanks
You could take any palm free recipe and add the botanical and other elements to convert the soap Emma :)
@@SoapSchoolUK Thank you :)
