- Pyeongchang, REPUBLIC OF KOREA - Yuzuru Hanyu of Japan placed 2nd in the Free Skate, but that was still enough for him to finish in 1st Place overall. Commentators were Terry Gannon, Tara Lipinski, and Johnny Weir.

He has gone through a long tough way to won this gold medal. He had even participated in design the music, the costume and all his jumps together. And when he got injured almost three months before this Olympics he had to withdrew from all other competitions and to quit skating for his right ankle to heal. Eventually he had to rebuild the whole program and decided to stop the ankle treatment but had eaten the strongest pain killer in order to execute the performance of this game. What impressed me most was that after having gone through all these horrible situations, he could still keep calm to face the problems and to find a way to fix them. His determination is amazing and that’s what made him a true champion. Incredible !

He was not skating but writing a poem on the ice ! This program is truly a piece of art.
Yuzuru really creates a moment like no one. His mindset and passion are so strong. Even when it's not perfect, he manages to capture everyone's attention. You can't take your eyes from him!
He's the GOAT for a reasons.... God I hope he lands that 4A without injury and focus on his health on top of everything
From Good boy (Sochi) to Great man (PyeongChang) to Greatest of all time 👍
None of his Olympic long programs were perfect, but he's so captivating on the stage that it makes it all worth it
He performed 2 flawless Seimei in 2015 and set World Record but there's still something so Regal bout this performance ❤️ he fumbled, stumbled and at the same time soooo determined to not fall on his back ❤️ and that last step sequence still is the best for me ❤️
There are something special about his jumps. He has that height and take big spaces on the ice. His arms is in an amazing position while tucking it in while he jump. His arms is so tight in the rotation that's why his jump look so flawless and smooth.
he always looks magical on ice. his mistakes doesn't flaw his performance he looks beautiful, 100%.

Its your opinion...not an universal statement because in my opinion Evgeny Plushenko is the Greatest and I will give you two reasons:
One, Evgeny won two Olympic Golds for perfect programs, no mistakes
Two, Evgeny lost one Gold against Yagudin for one fall in the short program everything else Perfect. And Evgeny lost his other Gold in Vancouver until now...I dont know why! Lysacek didn't even execute one quad! And even Evgeny had one unsteady landing he did not fell!
While I watched Yuzu winning his first gold with more than two falls and this second gold with more than two bad landings...my question is why? Evgeny was PERFECTION on ice all of the times he won a Gold or a competition. For me he is the Greatest one, he never dissapointed us!!
@@mercedesvazquez9304 Plushenko won just one Olympic gold medal. I agree that he deserved the gold medal at the Vancouver Olympics, but Yuzuru performs much more difficult jumps than Plushenko's with a higher risk of falling. It's a new era.But I love Plushenko too.He is one of the best.
Probably!!! Nathan Chen’s quad’s are impressive but there is just something about Yuzuru that’s even more impressive.
Yuzuru didn't even win the free skate here (Nathan bested him handsomely, as he has done relentlessly for the whole Olympic cycle). Had Nathan not messed up, he would've deservedly won gold. Silver lining: Plushenko getting hurt prevented Russia from what would've been even more epic cheating to give him the gold (even more than what they did to Yuna). I wish Yuzuru and Javier had trained with anybody other than Brian Orser, who works ok as a women's trainer but is impossibly cheesy as a male trainer.
@@reginaalcoba4420 Evgeny has two Olympic Golds, the second one was in Sochi for the Teams competition. He has 2 Golds, 2 Silvers in 4 Olympics.

Love Johnny Weir, yes it's in his blood. Yuzu made it so effortless as if he was born with those jumps.
when you pick up a perfect skater, there are a lot function to be included, not only technical, ellegance, artstistry, flexible, light, smooth, musical, Yuzuru has all of them, but with Nathan, i am sorry, maybe his jumps is good but if compare to overall being a perfect magic like Yuzuru has, Nathan surely is not on Yuzuru's level yet. Even a lot of experiences tv commentators and experts said that.. and not mention for his magic attraction. Nobody could be as great as Yuzuru, he is just definitely the one and the only, the GOAT!
Agree but Nathan is getting better artistically. But I think Nate started to relax and got into the music just after all his jumps. So....
@@Parie_fawny1207 he's getting better at controlling his emotions and does his programs calmly yes, but he just can't change the way his upper body to completely relax into his jump. Because you can notice how stiff it is on each landing especially in 4 combination.
Yep exactly yuzu got charisma and huge fanbase his performance is always a “story”
Someday might be on different era, someone can be as like him but Yuzuru is a legend on this sport. We’re lucky to live in the same era with Yuzuru.

Sus penosos heathers no tienen ojos para ver sus caulidades extraordinarias, simplemente lo odian por su ignorancia o su insensibilidad para apreciar la belleza y extraordinaria complejidad de todo lo que derramó en el hielo durante 10 años dominando contra todo pronóstico el patinaje de figura; antes de sus quads y triples en combinación, nadie, absolutamente nadie los hacía , así que él no sólo les mostró el camino para lograrlo, los retó todo el tiempo a ir más lejos de lo que su mente les dijera... piensan que las medallas se las han regalado a un genio que lleva más de 70000 horas de su joven vida invertidas en su modelo ideal de patinaje de figura lo cual es cuasiballet sobre hielo; estoy tan orgullosa de que Hanyu haya entregado sus programas en modos perfectos en las diferentes competencias en las que participó... Si hay alguien a quien sus medallas le han costado mucha sangre, lágrimas y dolor es precisamente a Hanyu Sama!!! Asi que no, la limpieza del patinaje de figura no va de caerse o no caerse, eso quedó en el pasado, la verdadera belleza de este deporte artístico es la ejecución más limpia posible de todos los elementos que conforman un programa corto y un programa libre y lamento que esto contradiga la ignorancia de muchas personas, pero si hay alguien que se ha esmerado en ser pulcro en sus rutinas súper complejas es Hanyu Yuzuru si no lo crees, sólo cuenta los pasos de cruce de Roncapu, seis, sólo seis malditos pasos de cruce y ninguno de los que han hecho rutinas en apariencia «limpias» tiene la dicha de ejecutar tal calidad de programa, ni en sus 37000 mil horas de inversión al patinaje de figura y 8 años de clases de ballet, podrán conseguirlo, porque no tienen la paciencia, la flexibilidad y ligereza que se necesita para conseguir esto tan exquisito y lo cual ha sido reservado para quien tiene cualidades únicas e irrepetibles. Esto demuestra que Hanyu Sama es un patinador de los que nacen cada siglo y personalmente me atrevo a asegurar qué él es un patinador que no volveremos a ver en toda una era (1000 años).

Brian: "I'm proud of you!" Overcoming the injury and Yuzu's desire of going into the jumps, Yuzu got his mindset to aim at the "champion" instead of jumps. That is why Yuzuru did not dare to do the problematic jumps that could harm the injured ankle.

Te recomiendo su programa del 2012 en Ville Nice, las cuchillas en el hielo del patinaje aún en maduración de Hanyu Sama, son alucinantes y hermosas al igual que en este programa olímpico, es una tristeza no tener este placer en alguna grabación de Hope and Legacy ni en Roncapu, amo escuchar el deslizamiento de sus cuchillas con la música de sus programas, ya que es algo que él también ha trabajado en sus entrenamientos, este hombre es un genio sobre el hielo y fuera de él.

わーNBC独自カメラのフリーは初めて見たかも。最初のジャンプのカメラなんてベストポジション！いつ見てもSEIMEIは歴史に残る名プログラムだな。四大陸で五輪と同じこれとバラ１滑るとか。当時より３０秒短くなったフリーの構成をどうするか？個人的に大好きな最期のハイドロとイナバウアーが入るシークエンス見たいけど短くなるのかなあ？なんにせよ楽しみです！
