In the 2022 Winter Olympics, Yuzuru Hanyu skated for his dream. If he hadn't stepped on the ice hole in the short program, he should have a great chance to challenge the 4A success. It can be seen from his recovery training in the figure skating training hall after the game that he is at the top both in terms of competitive state and competitive level! Yes , I think that's what makes him so different , he doesn't just skate on a music being played in the background , but it's as if he is one with the music , they go together , lots of lots of movements involved , and that's when his artistry shine

He's getting judged accordingly, his jumps have lean and he lands hard. At this point he just wants to land 4A and retire.

I never liked ice skating, because in Indonesian there is none. But when I saw Yuzu's video, I was immediately blown away. How graceful, he is like a Javanese dancer.
It's 2022 and my how attitudes have changed. All this praise in 2015 and so well deserved and guess what? He's still the best ever. Still as phenomenal as he always has been. Just now the praise is all for someone else and they want to erase that this praise at this competition ever happened.
@@diya863 for the Olympics you can preform any routine you want. It's not too uncommon for skaters to return to an old routine. Especially if it's one that was special to them or a crowd favorite. Something you've spent a lot of time on preparing. A lot of times Skaters will spend the year or 2 leading up to an Olympics testing out different styles and moves so they can figure out what they want to preform at the Olympics. At least that's my understanding of it.

Absolutely incredible. Thats what i called Art on Ice....fantastic. He is not only a Skater, he is an Artist. Its always wonderful to watch him skating. Whoever comes after him someday, the Footsteps that he will leave can't be filled
His skating like an art for me. I can watch it again and again and every time I have all the positive, bright emotions. Every time I feel relieved when he's doing everything great (as always). I return to his videos when I feel sad. That's why I think he is the best figure skater in the world
real greatness... my heartbeat changes when he is skating. there is no one like him. i'll miss to see him in competitions but also can't wait to see what free Yuzu will do in next years
They were always biased but when the system was from -1 to +3 there were no much room for overscoring so much and at that time the big 3 feds USA Rusia and Canada did not have that strong competitors (I mean Patrick Chan was his closest competition on the quad before Sochi ) so they have not other option to be fair , but still , Yuzuru knew that he had to be perfect in order to achieve results because the judges had eyes for UR and other things when it’s about him but a blind eye when it’s for example Shoma Uno and now Yuma Kagiyama and Nathan Chen

Beyond comprehension ... It truly is. Yuzuru's skating performance is truly otherworldly. Natural flow, calmness of the upper body when landing, musicality...everuthing is in a perfect package.
For me the thing that separates good skaters from great ones is the upper body. His arms are never just flopping about, always engaged in choreography, emphasis on the music, especially in this routine. The black gloves are real effective.
@@tjwash5118 YES! Totally agreed. His upper body always calm, not frailing when landing at all. Also his long arms also contribute to his seemless flow of skating. Long arms and long legs, their movements are always "with" the music. He used to say "I am an artistic athlete."
I remembered the first time seeing Yuzuru Hanyu at the GPF and fell in love with him! such a beautiful skate and amazing young man. I am sending him my best wish to his 2019 season and another Gold Medal !!

It’s 2021, but I can never get tired of a Yuzuru hanyu skating marathon. Watching his competition videos all the way from his junior years up until the 2021 japan nationals, all I can say is that he isn’t the King of Figure Skating, YUZURU HANYU IS THE GOD OF FIGURE SKATING. His FS in this season’s gpf is my favorite followed by his FS in Skate Canada 2019. But my all time fave in any of his skating program will always be his perfect skate to Chopin in the SP of the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. He is simply marvelous. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Haha, same here and I totally agree with you! But it's 2022 for me and he just landed the first ever 4A in the Jap. Nationals 2022 practice (not perfect, but landed) and attempted it (landed, but very wobbly and slightly under rotated) in the competition in fs. I honestly don't know if he will win Bejing Olympics in February (I do believe in him and his mental strength and physical ability tho), because I don't know how well the other figure skaters are doing (or how many quads they stacked to win....), so for me it remains to be seen. But seeing Yuzu succeed in what he always wished for is already soooo satisfying to see and with the 4A (some even said it's physically impossible) he brings the sport on another level AGAIN! No matter if he wins or not, he will always remain the best figure skater of all times for me.
@@yozocuddlewolf7371 When he Yuzu says he will do everything he can to win, I trust him. He knows his capabilities more than anyone. I guess, he would want to watch what will happen at U.S. Nationals first so he can plan out whether to stack up another quad to his program or to leave it as is. Either way, now that it’s 2022, my new fave is Rondo Capriccioso. Not a single movement was out of place. The step sequence was fire 🔥. The 4T-3T has room to be a little cleaner, and I’d wish his 3A had a little more flow out before he does his twizzle (but that’s already asking too much when he went for it from a back counter entry that was preceded by a series of steps with no cross over/cross under in that sequence. I am still finding it hard to comprehend where he got his speed!) but everything else was magic! Like his spin right after his twizzle exit from his 3A. His 2022 SP is insane. 🤯

Every time I see this performance it makes me emotional. It was so good, and his emotions are so raw. It gets me all these years later. There will never be another as good as Yuzuru.
This was the first skate I ever saw of Yuzuru and at the time I wasn't even keeping up with figure skating. I was absolutely enthralled and have been keeping up with it ever since.

I never thought watching ice skating performance could give me goosebumps ! The music, the skills, everything is terrific!
Beyond comprehension ... It truly is. Yuzuru's skating performance is truly otherworldly. Natural flow, calmness of the upper body when landing, musicality...everuthing is in a perfect package.
For me the thing that separates good skaters from great ones is the upper body. His arms are never just flopping about, always engaged in choreography, emphasis on the music, especially in this routine. The black gloves are real effective.
@@tjwash5118 YES! Totally agreed. His upper body always calm, not frailing when landing at all. Also his long arms also contribute to his seemless flow of skating. Long arms and long legs, their movements are always "with" the music. He used to say "I am an artistic athlete."
I remembered the first time seeing Yuzuru Hanyu at the GPF and fell in love with him! such a beautiful skate and amazing young man. I am sending him my best wish to his 2019 season and another Gold Medal !!

It’s 2021, but I can never get tired of a Yuzuru hanyu skating marathon. Watching his competition videos all the way from his junior years up until the 2021 japan nationals, all I can say is that he isn’t the King of Figure Skating, YUZURU HANYU IS THE GOD OF FIGURE SKATING.
His FS in this season’s gpf is my favorite followed by his FS in Skate Canada 2019. But my all time fave in any of his skating program will always be his perfect skate to Chopin in the SP of the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. He is simply marvelous. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Haha, same here and I totally agree with you! But it's 2022 for me and he just landed the first ever 4A in the Jap. Nationals 2022 practice (not perfect, but landed) and attempted it (landed, but very wobbly and slightly under rotated) in the competition in fs. I honestly don't know if he will win Bejing Olympics in February (I do believe in him and his mental strength and physical ability tho), because I don't know how well the other figure skaters are doing (or how many quads they stacked to win....), so for me it remains to be seen. But seeing Yuzu succeed in what he always wished for is already soooo satisfying to see and with the 4A (some even said it's physically impossible) he brings the sport on another level AGAIN! No matter if he wins or not, he will always remain the best figure skater of all times for me.
@@yozocuddlewolf7371 When he Yuzu says he will do everything he can to win, I trust him. He knows his capabilities more than anyone. I guess, he would want to watch what will happen at U.S. Nationals first so he can plan out whether to stack up another quad to his program or to leave it as is. Either way, now that it’s 2022, my new fave is Rondo Capriccioso. Not a single movement was out of place. The step sequence was fire 🔥. The 4T-3T has room to be a little cleaner, and I’d wish his 3A had a little more flow out before he does his twizzle (but that’s already asking too much when he went for it from a back counter entry that was preceded by a series of steps with no cross over/cross under in that sequence. I am still finding it hard to comprehend where he got his speed!) but everything else was magic! Like his spin right after his twizzle exit from his 3A. His 2022 SP is insane. 🤯
I adore the Chopin! The 4cc 2020 version is my fave; I heard he really liked that skate of his too! ❤️⛸❤️

He's my guy. I'll defend, support, and love him until my dying breath. There are millions of us (including you) that feel the same so that hate and negativity can't take hold. I truly hope he is NOT hearing all that noise and static and is focusing on his goals and his health and making sure everything is prepared for him to be safe in Beijing. I'm focusing all my energy and strength to him for this Olympics. I choose to believe all the positive energy from all of us helped him during JNats and I have to say he was our fabulous Ice Prince, no doubt about that. So maybe we can help a bit with our worldwide circle of love and support during the Olympics.

Every time I see this performance it makes me emotional. It was so good, and his emotions are so raw. It gets me all these years later. There will never be another as good as Yuzuru.

This was the first skate I ever saw of Yuzuru and at the time I wasn't even keeping up with figure skating. I was absolutely enthralled and have been keeping up with it ever since.
