The way you describe these books is fantastic. I’m someone who needs to be sold on something by a really good description and you nailed it! Every single one of these is now in my Amazon cart 😆
Riley, girl you KILLED this video!! ♥️ I loved your synopsis for everything; the books I’ve already read you summed up perfectly without giving anything away but just enough to pull you in and I’ve added literally everything else to my TBR because you were so convincing!
So happy that my favorite intro in the world is back!!!! Just catching up on videos so I’m a bit behind 😍 I’ve had Rules For Vanishing on my TBR forever. Can’t wait to get to it. Oh man I loved Rolling in the Deep better than Into the Drowning Deep, but yea those sirens are super scary!
I LOVE Into the Drowning Deep and Best Friend’s Exorcism so I’m uber excited to read the others you recommended. Slewfoot has been on the top of my lost to read for awhile so that’ll be next.
Loved the video! Don’t Go There horror is my absolute fave. I feel like you’d love These Fleeting Shadows, Small Angels, and The Lighthouse Witches, which I believe are all on your radar already.
So many of my favourites 🥰 Into the drowning deep is my favourite book Of all time and Rules for vanishing and The luminous dead have been favourites of the year. I guess I should get more recommendations from you
You are really making me want to dive into T. Kingfisher! Do you have a “Guide to T. Kingfisher” video or a recommendation on the first book of her’s I should read?
I have been trying to find The Luminous dead for the longest time! I remembered the plot but not the name and I couldn’t find it anywhere, thank you so much😅❤
Oh, thank you so much! I've been wanting a friend group focused horror book for SO LONG. Just a bunch of besties trying to overcome the unknown horrors that plague them! I'm totally going to give Rules of Vanishing a shot
If you like the whole friend group trying to survive trope I'd highly recommend the troop ☺️ it's super well written and probably my favourite book (I am obsessed with horror and have very high standards haha)
These books sound really interesting; I may have to look for them in the future. I have a few recommendations you might like to try, if it's ok. White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson Bad Witch Burning by Jessica Lewis A Dark and Starless Forest by Sarah Hollowell The Stuff of Nightmares by Malorie Blackman The Demon Road trilogy by Derek Landy Fear Street the Beginning by R. L. Stine The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge More Than This by Patrick Ness Stolen by Lucy Christopher I may have a few more, but I didn't want to make this long 😅
INTO THE DROWNING DEEP is such a fav. I still can't look at the ocean without wondering what is there lurking. I'm excited to try Feed and hopefully it's told similarly.
As if I didn’t need more books 📚 to my tbr list so thank you again please stay safe and enjoy your reading 📖 prayers and thoughts for you and your family love your family friend John ❤❤❤
Well we definitely have the same taste the majority of these are also my favorites lol. I need to read the new Kate Alice Marshall it’s tied the rules for vanishing set!
Your taste is so similar to mine, so I trust your recommendations! Haha you mentioned a few of my favorites. I ordered Rules for Vanishing immediately after you talked about it. 😂❤
So excited for peak spooky season so this recommendation video was perfect timing! My fave sub genre of horror is for sure SciFi Horror, Creature Features and Gothic 🖤👻
A new favorite horror book of mine is Head Like a Hole by Andrew Van Wey. Wow. I swear, that book was written just for me lol. Have another book of his on the way to me, called By the Light of Dead Stars. If it's just as good, then I may have found a new favorite author too!
I haven't read any of these but I did recently read The Death of Jane Lawrence. It was alright, I don't really read horror of any kind so it's hard for me to love them but I think for me, the pacing was off. But I liked the characters and their relationship. I'm glad I tried it out!
Haunted House in Space is my favorite horror trope. Think Alien. But I have such a hard time finding books I love with this trope. The last few fell flat for me
I feel kind of alone with Slewfoot. I didn’t really like it. To me it doesn’t feel like a horror book. Going through it it felt more like a Historical fantasy and I quickly got bored with it.

My favorite horror sub-genres are Creature Features, Vampires, and Ocean Horror.
If you liked Dead Silence, you might like Salvation Day by Kali Wallace. They have similar premises (exploring an empty space ship) with creepy vibes!
Oh yay! I’m reading This Thing Between Us for my book club. Happy to know you AND Kayla loved it. That’s high praise
Omg I hope you like it!!
