"I was finally having fun again" - Jacob after drawing a big ol' butt.
When the thicc is ridicc there's fun in da buns.
When there's a full ounce of bounce, there's joy in the boy
Jacob is a baker of CAKES
Very on brand.
its interesting to read this before watching the ep
Jacob: I stole the way Karina does hands
Karina: I did that trick Jacob taught me with blurring the lines
I love them growing and pushing each other ❤️❤️❤️
*Julia:* In Evangelion, Shinji has a mental breakdown. So for my fan art, I decided to do the same.
when i read this comment i thought it was funny but when i got to julia's part and oh boy
@@catarinabarbosa2247 Oh no, I'm only 9 minutes in and now all I can do is wonder what will happen.
@@dragonqueen1474 I saw your comment and was confused and now I'm there and yes correct
genius
I mean, last fan-art time she decided to learn Blender live so this is just the level of commitment we expect.
"Apollo Justice is just a guy who gets adopted by no less than 4 theater kids" is such a solid summary of his storyline
absolutely. he’s truly an introvert adopted by extroverts
@@suntheclumsycat If this is true I need to play the Apollo games, I’ve only played the Phoenix ones.
@@parkwayninja41 oh you absolutely have to play apollo justice. its my favorite game
Apollo gets adopted by at least one person in every game after his debut game lmao, sure they're from the past and SPOILERS
Dead but... yeah
@@parkwayninja41 I so recommend it!! Wasn't sure if I could get attached to the new characters but it's become my favourite game and my favourite cast I can't stop talking about it!!!
1 Nathan sells himself way too short, amazing painting.
2 Jacob is a mood, and the finished product is precious.
3 Karina is always consistently a quality creator, love it! (also so happy to see CSP rep going on)
4 And as always, Julia is an agent of chaos that even She cannot handle.
Jacob is a mood i needed to find out existed
the biblical She was correct
"We're just chilling and doing fan art today."
Julia: "I did not do that."
Classic Julia, not following the prompt.
Karina talking about her old art makes me want another episode where they redraw their childhood art. The last times they did that were Sept 2020 and Nov 2019. It's been long enough for another one surely?
The world needs more moonpaw
@@hayleygabbard1513 YES.
It's always fun to see them bring their childhood ideas to life.
yes. yes. yes!!!!!! I LOVE those episodes! That's a shout and a half my dude
One a year!
I feel like College Humor was holding Nathan back, he's improved and expanded his skills so much since The Big Split
i feel the same way. seeing Nathan grow his style this past year or two has been a real treat. and seeing the rest of the crew encourage him through it makes me very happy
It makes sense to me! Nathan had a bit of a middle management role at CH if I recall, and I know for a long while Julia was even rendering everyone's drawfee drawings. He's a lot freer to focus on his art now that the team have all kinda found their roles as a team!
Wild thing about corporations is that they’re great at holding people back. There was probably a good chunk of time wasted on writing reports and emails to higher ups that would still ask what the “fee” in Drawfee means. Or email threads explaining to legal that “Todd from Mario” isn’t a Nintendo character. I like the stuff CH produced, but Drawfee always had this different tone and independent fan base. In later years it really didn’t seem to benefit all that much from being part of the CH family. I’m very happy they got to keep the channel and that we’ll get to watch it grow
Polnareff
College Humor: "You're Fired"
Nathan: *Takes off company-issued Rock Lee ankle weights*
Seeing Drawfee titles with ‘MORE’ in all caps always fill me with childish excitement, because I know what’s coming is so good that the first time demanded even MORE
they should just make an episode where professional artists draw MORE
@@lonelyfloat2582 professional artists do art HARDER
@@themute9354 professional artists draw MORE art!

We meet again Will 👀
Julia: "I didn't really like what I drew"
Also Julia: **draws one of the coolest things I've ever seen**
This is like every Drawfee episode
One of the things I really love about Jacob is how openly he delights in his successes and acknowledges his struggles? It's such a healthy approach to creativity and it really helps me feel okay about having honest feelings about my work - I can like it or hate it and it's okay either way. Thank you so much for including that stuff so often.
so true. i feel like he treats himself really fair. if he doesn't like something he made he says it without absolutely downtalking himself. he seems to have a quite healthy relationship with his art.
Everytime I'm struggling with my art I always think about him and what he says in these speed draws, its helps change my perspective on things and its very helpful
@@jypmovieentertainment-fanm8986 I'm not healthy about criticising my own stuff, so I respect Jacob for being able to be fair on himself, even when he isn't feeling something and is still kind to himself.
@@ReptilianTeaDrinker exactly!! every time we see him trying stuff he doesn't like he just goes, "that's art, baby." and i love him for that.
as someone who’s in a bit of a block right now, it’s so helpful and comforting to see.
We've seen the fanart, but could we get an episode for hateart? like, character redesigns of characters you just do not like
Julia manifested Evangelion energy with a straightforward idea, not really liking it but pushing through, then having a breakdown and destroying everything, followed by a low-budget sketch slideshow that fleshes out the rest of the universe, then returning to the original idea but with a different lens or perspective, and then finally settling down and accepting the task as done.
Congratulations.
Congratulations!

“I didn’t really challenge myself with this one…” is such a flex considering IMMEDIATELY afterwards she proceeded to draw five characters

Well,... he did warn us....
The way Karina emphasizes the Baby in "that's art baby!" Like she's pointing out a specific baby.
that's Art-Baby! he's here!
That’s art. Baby.
Hey! You! Baby! That's art! Haha
Would love to see Jacob's "4 selfies" as another pre-record episode, everyone does the same thing with their property of choice
Yes self inserts into their chosen universes.
Heck yea 4 selfies speedraw
Agreed.
WHEN NATHAN SKETCHED THE VAUGE SHAPE OF HIS HAT I LET OUT AN OUTCRY OF *”HIS STUPID FUCKING HAT”* THAT WHOLE BIT KILLS ME I LOVE IT
its a big stupid hat with a big stupid curse on it! (i think thats the quote i dont remember)
Laszlo: "Is that fuzzy human in the corner drawing me?"
Nathan: "I'm Nathan!"
Laszlo: "I don't give a fuck. Go on."
There’s somebody at the draw.
Before seeing the video
I saw this and immediately thought Camp Laszlo
I read this in their voices. 😅
Me too, Edwina... actually saying it a couple of times before posting so it feels in character. 😃
@@skyguy713 there were two vampires who had a friend and Laszlo was his name-o
Something I love about Jacob's art is how EASY and simple the final outcome is. This simplified cartoon style is so elegantly refined to the point that It's deceivingly simple and I get SO inspired by his comics. Then, when I sit down to make it, I realize how ACTUALLY difficult it is to master those expressions, loose poses, and purposeful shapes. It is SO good, Jacob!
what Nathan did with his coloring over the greyscale is actually a technique used in traditional painting called glazing but it tbh much harder with pain in my experience. Awesome job man.
Everything is just a little bit harder with pain. True that.
“He’s just this dude who gets adopted by like no less than four theatre kids” I LOVE THIS DESCRIPTION WITH ALL MY HEART ITS SO ACCURATE
I'm really proud of Nathan for taking on the challenge not just coloring, but digital painting at the same time. I feel that I identify the most with Nathan's artistic journey and gotta say it just makes me feel great to see him succeed so spectacularly. Drawfee is such a great show.
Agreed! Wholesome 10x!
I feel like we need an "I learned a thing" episode. Not only are you guys just awesome, but each of you has learned a bunch of new stuff pretty recently. I just wanna see you flexing your new skills, just as an excuse to use them.
Okay I gotta say: Holy shit. Everyone did incredible job this time. Also special thanks to Nathan for reminding me the way to do the values/shading/whatever before colors exist, I always forget it even though I like doing that agsfdaghs
I just want to say I am in love with your profile picture
Huge props to Jacob including so much of his process, even the stuff he wasn’t proud of. Super helpful and inspiring to see!!!
Julia's Evangelion speed draw was gorgeous, horrific imagery randomly interspersed with flashes of incomplete black and white sketches... So, y'know, just like the finale of the original show!
When Julia said "did you draw my boy" I was immediately "It's gotta be Blackquill"
Such a Julia character
You guys should do a speed draw of yourselves as the four horseman of the drawfpocalypse. With each one of you representing a defining factor that makes drawfee drawfee. Julia - horseman of misdirection, Nathan - horseman of mispeaking, Karina - horseman of razzing, and Jacob - horseman of hard(or dumb) stances
Aw, your profile pic
Sneaky way to make them all draw horses
Drawf-porfo-lypse?
My suggestion is coming back yesssss I gave up
YES YES YES
I wish Nathan could see how excited I got when he revealed that he drew Laszlo from WWDITS. It's a show that I got into over quarantine and the amount of references he squeezed into one drawing is *chefs kiss* also the art style is so cool and I love how Nathan can be so flexible in his style
i dont have money so i cant submit an idea properly but when julia said "it looks like a paper mario character who went into the wrong game" made me think it would be super cool an episode where yall make fanart of a character in a different media of where they're from (like there it looked like paper mario going to dark souls universe, but it could even go cross platforms like a tv character go to a video game etc)
Oh dude that would be great, like an **out of place characters** challenge, the characters themselves are drawn in their original art style, but in a completely different context (ie. Animal Crossing x Doom = sweet little cartoony animal crossing villager in literal hell)
I really love this idea, and the reply from @Miles, so I hope y'all don't mind, but I've taken a screenshot and I'm gonna pop it on over into the Patreon Discord to suggest the idea while giving credit where it's due 💚
@@westy7663 aaa i dont mind at all thank you so much! ^^
i think it'd pair well with a lot of the requests regarding 'one drawf does the background and one does the character'.
I love that Karina, like myself, builds a nasty little goblin horde of free CSP brushes. It's especially fun for me as I really struggle reading any Japanese that isn't kanji and most of the brush descriptions are in Japanese. and yet I must collect more
The only bad thing about that is that i want all of them but i can't find it :C
I read CSP as SCP at first and for some reason that also made sense to me. Not sure what that says about me lol
I’ve only watched Nathan’s so far but I’m literally obsessed he did such a great job with his digital painting !!!!!!! I love when Nathan steps out of his comfort zone, he’s so incredible 🥺❤️
Edit: I was rewatching and scrolled down… dang 1.1K? That’s wild. Glad so many people agree that Nathan is awesome! 😌❤️
Hopefully you got to Jacob’s cause I absolutely love what he ended up with. It’s amazing
@@SDFlick619 I did! I loved that he got through his mental block!!
@@AxxLAfriku yikes
same here! nathan did INCREDIBLE. it felt like an official illustration from a DND guide or something!
Jumped down to the comments at the end of Nathan's painting to see how much everyone loves it and I couldn't agree more!
Julia almost deleted her art at the moment I was the most engrossed in seeing where the piece was going - I wanted to flip my friggin laptop. Her piece is just so well made by the end. Amazing work from everyone 💕
Nathan can really blow it out of the water when he steps out of his comfort zone! His work is steadily improving. It's incredible!
The entire gang is overdue for another episode of "Re-doing old artwork".
The energy of the ace attorney characters is impeccable, i could tell who they were in a few lines
A classical art spin on the weird stock-photo challenge: artists draw scenes from Hieronymus Bosch paintings. Zoom in on a segment in a painting (not the whole thing bc holy hell that's asking way too much lol) and describe them to each other.
This... would be so incredible. Yes please.
YESSSS I NEED
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!
“crows are coming out of this person’s ass” asdfghjkl
YES! PLEASE LET JULIA HOST THIS EPISODE
I was fully expecting Julia to re-animate the entire NGE opening.
Little did I know that she accidentally animated a solid 15 seconds of it when she temporarily lost her mind.
I’m simultaneously happy that Nathan has watched What We Do In the Shadows and shocked that everyone in Drawfee hadn’t already seen it. It’s such a good show. I thought especially “room full of Vampires” Julia would’ve seen it by now.
If they do a room full of vampires 2.0 those guys definitely gotta be in that room
Same, no one ever seems to talk about this show, let alone the movie, but it’s easily the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
It's so good! Nathan was doing the voice so well, it was cracking me up.
BAAT
@@ShanissaWTK Right? I'm surprised at how they haven't seen the show and movie yet. They're so funny and I had a hoot watching both the show and movie!
SUGGESTION: You guys should do self-insert ocs for your favorite shows one day. that'd be fun and self-indulgent
They did that a while back, but it would be great to see another one!
I love drawfee. Their normal episodes are fun because they riff off of each other and change the drawings as they go based on the bits they come up with, but their speed draws are always so inspirational because we get to see them do a full piece and since everyone is so positive and honest it makes me appreciate each artist's skill even more. I don't focus on my own art much, but this channel always gives me hope that I COULD, and one day end up with something like the fantastic pieces we see here.
I REALLY appreciate Jacob leaving in his entire process, even how he overcame the art block, it's super encouraging to see & hear you talk about & for real all the drawings came out amazing! It's interesting how you were looking back on your work & being like, 'actually these are pretty good' & realizing you just weren't in a good mood, it's really nice to see. Truly sometimes our work is a LOT better than we give it credit for. nice job guys!
Love how much love and knowledge Karina has on all the things that catch her eye. Her fan art… so good.
It’s a bonus that there is a direct overlap in her special interest and the things that give me childhood nostalgia
So happy that Karina's favourite AA game is Apollo Justice - that game deserves so much more love and is my fave in the series as well. The story ties together in perfection mwa!
Prompt: Draw Fan Art, but like, chill
Drawfee: *task failed successfully*
Everyone absolutely killed it with this one, and I want Julia to know that her art was beautiful and I felt the same mesmerization as the rest of the crew. You could not have a more skilled, uplifting, and hilarious group of artists.
Why the heck was this episode so GOOD?!
Every single image was awesome! Nathan started it off STRONG, Jacob continued with such a hilarious idea which had my sides hurting with laughter, Karina's groupshot was oozing with fun and personality, and then you had Julia's insanely well framed and color picked finish! I love, love, LOVE the fanart episodes.
It's so refreshing to hear Karina talk about Apollo Justice, it's my favorite Ace Attorney game and personally I feel it doesn't get enough love.
same! ♡ it might be my favorite game in the series, glad to see other Apollo enjoyers
I haven’t finished the episode but I immediately lost it when Nathan started drawing Laszlo, he nailed it
nice pfp
Right??? I love that show and Laszlo is an icon. lol
I’m so excited for laszlo and Collin Robinson next season
I love how Julia made it seem like her art was going to be less than she normally does or subpar in some way and then absolutely blows it out of the park as usual
As a fellow artist, Jacob’s redraws were so comforting. Thanks for leaving them in 😊. They were all great, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who gets stuck. I like looking at that as “you’re just ready for growth”
I just want the give Jacob props for showing his struggles in such a public way. It's encouraging to hear sometimes even the pros have bad days but you can still get through it.
I never clicked a Drawfee episode so fast. Karina doing Ace Attorney art, fuck YES
Literally same!!
I'm running late for work, so I skipped forward to watch her part immediately. Otherwise, I'd spend the whole work day thinking about this video lol
YESSSSSSS
HELL YEAH
we love that here
I love this crew, but one thing I love more than anything is the artists supporting artists vibe, they all have different strengths and weaknesses and dont compare each other, they just uplift one another and it is so wholesome and makes me so happy
Oh man, Tuesdays and Thursdays turn out to be even more anticipated than I thought. Last night I dreamt the Drawfee crew stayed over at my place and I gave you all rooibos tea and choc-chip cookies. Then Nathan gave me a hug and told me to keep him updated on how I'm doing--it was so nice, it felt like I had a big brother 😭
I know exactly how you feel. I don't know whether it's really depressing or not that Tuesday and Thursdays are my favourite day of the week because of drawfee
Petition for Drawfee to draw your dream.
oooh, rooibos! good idea!
Parasocial relationships be getting in our dreams now
Hello fellow South African!
I actually really appreciate Jacob's little art-block montage, goes to show that not every day has to be the best day
Also every episode I'm reminded of how you're all such COOL artists :O really inspires me each time
Nathan being unsure about capturing the likeness and then drawing a perfect instantly recognizable caricature of Matt Berry
Nathan’s “thank you 😊” gets me every time it sounds so excited and genuine! It’s adorable
It honestly makes me feel loads better seeing them struggle with artblock. Of course, I don't enjoy their pain but it's kinda comforting to know that even the artists I look up to don't always just effortlessly crack out all those incredible pieces
For the past decade, I've been struggling to get into art like when I was younger (the needing of approval from internet strangers and criticizing myself for not being good enough pretty much killed my passion) . Very few times do I get inspired to draw again, and this video, starting with Nathan, made me want to start drawing and learn to have fun with it again.
Thanks, Drawfee!
The Dark Souls boss selfies remind me of that one Game Grumps playthrough of Wind Waker where Arin got THE BEST selfie with Ganon during the boss fight.
I gotta splurge a bit here: Y'all are amazing. Not just as artists, that much is obvious to anyone with eyes. But also how supportive of each other you are. It makes for such cozy, feelgood videos. Keep doing what you're doing, I support you 100% (just not financially yet, because I'm broke AF.)
Hearing JULIA of all people say “backgrounds are not a focus” aged me 20 years
Really doesn't seem right coming from Julia, the "I spent 10 hours learning Blender creating a background in a character drawing challenge." artist of the group, it's been, what, 1 year since that happened, and it's still the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a Drawfee episode. Not the weirdest thing I've heard though, they say dozens of crazy things every single episode.
as a musician, I relate SO MUCH to what Jacob's talking about in his segment.
Nathan really nails Matt Berry's inflection, it makes me smile so wide every time he does an impression!
Same! It made me smile every time!
I like how each panel kinda was one for each person
Cell 1 :Jacob "look at this guy"
Cell 2: Kapper for Julia
Cell 3: Nathan "Bug Friends"
Cell 4: Karina's hands.
I’m so happy they’re doing fan art when they aren’t under duress
Dur-less
I honestly adore how the drawfee members are all fans of each other's work. I love the moment where when Julia's painting starts and everyone else is silent because they're just mesmerized watching her work
As someone who's favorite AA game is also Apollo Justice, I absolutely adored Karina's fanart! It's so cute! And the lineart was just lovely. Would love to see more chill fanart episodes from you, guys!!!
Seconding that, Apollo Justice was my first Ace Attorney game and it has a special place in my heart so when she announced she would draw fanart of it and then saw the finished piece I was on the verge of tears.
I've had an art block for the last month or so, and Jacob's experience really helped me. I think I'm about ready to jump into something new. I don't think any words of encouragement could help me get through it like that shared experience has. Thank you for that. :)
Ok, i haven’t even finished the episode but Nathan kinda snapped, holy molly
I don't know why but fanart just gets me absolutely VIBING. It's so cool when you can *feel* the inspiration from media from artists that really inspire you.
Stan Drawfee, everyone.
I am a little surprised that “Julia, is that blenderrrrr???” Isn’t like the biggest inside joke and call back for them every time Julia does anything, bc it totally is in of the comments. Also this came to mind before Julia’s draw so idk if hers is blender levels of ridiculous yet lol
make another episode like this, but instead making fanarts of characters/scenes, y'all make OCs of your favorite media
Okay, hear me out:
Celebrity Sketch Artist - Revenge of Google Translate
Pre-write celebrity descriptions, run that through Google translate a time or two, then whoops, that's all you can say about it.
It leaves a lot of room for you to decide how mean to be to each other. :)
This would be amazing
thats such a good idea
The Jackie Daytona episode of WWDITS is my favorite episode of anything ever. ALSO an episode of drawfee where y'all create WWDITS sonas
I've been trying to think of ways to do musically based challenges and I would love to see something along the lines of "personification of my spotify wrapped" or "character based on my most listened song in 2021" or "character based on my favorite song from 2021".
Man, ever since I've heard "Progress, not perfection." from a webnovel I've been reading, I've heard forms of it in the most surprising places. First Canadian news radio and now here with "It's not about nailing it, it's about exploring."
I cannot recommend what we do in the shadows enough. The show is hilarious. Thank you Nathan and drawfee.
I just love watching people making a thing they're super into and listening to them gush about why they're super into it and why everyone else should be too. It's the best. More of this, please
karina's newfound delight in downloading csp brushes is such a mood
as soon as nathan started talking about a new show he watched i was like “god i hope it’s what we do in the shadows” and i was NOT disappointed because i also just finished wwdits and i cannot stop thinking about it
I love Julia's description of the stamp-like soldier with the skellys being like a Paper Mario character in the wrong game was a good description of it.
Not gonna lie, I feel like all four of you outdid yourselves this time. These are all great, and even with the style experimentation it all feels distinctly like y'all's work.
I always love these speed draws: I think they're my favorite episodes.
I always love these speed draw episodes, the results are so fucking good and I deeply, _deeply_ enjoy the positive feedback the crew gives eachother. These episodes always fill me with such a warm, fuzzy feeling and leave me motivated, and that's a rare commodity in today's world. Thank you, Drawfee.
4:34 if Nathan hasn’t seen Schitt’s Creek yet, he should. Because I have a feeling Moira would be his favorite character. And Nathan should definitely check out the original What We Do In The Shadows movie that the tv show is based on. Similar vibes, vampire roommates living together in the modern day, but the characters are played by most of the original Flight of the Concords cast members
okay based off this, can we get a Artists Draw What We Do In The Shadows Characters they’ve never seen before?!?!? and you could potentially used the extended universe at least with the film as well (a very fun bit would be to give Jacob one of the people on the vampiric council that are you know… not gonna say any more as not to spoil)
julia nailed laszlo's vibes by saying he's looks like he lives in belle's village lol
nathan: draws laszlo's face
me: aw what a good laszlo
nathan: draws the toothpick
me: JACKIE DAYTONA?????
I always love when Julia spends the whole time drawing this super amazing piece of art and then does one sjngle something that makes the whole thing look completely different but still amazing in a whole new way
I am so grateful that Jacob left his first tries in and talked about his artblock. Thank you
Julia, your art fills me with an emotion that I can’t describe. This piece particularly is amazing, I’ve always loved your horrifically beautiful art and this is no exception
Seeing Nathan draw Laszlo makes me want a whole episode of them drawing what we do in the shadows characters based on their descriptions!
I love seeing episodes like this where they just draw what *they* want. The art is always good but you can really tell when they get inspired by the prompt.
Me, my tapir, and my slurpee loved this episode. Very relaxing.
My Tapir knocked over my Slurpee in excitement when he heard the "Ooh" noise. Now the floor and my Tapir is colourful and sticky.
One of my favorite things about drawfee episodes like this is how everyone just hypes everyone up. It makes me so happy and I love how wholesome it is
I always enjoy speeddraw episodes where they experiment and you can see them trying new things in real time. Drawfee's mix of genuinely hilarious comedy and genuinely fantastic art is unique!
I've been stuck in the phase of "I hate this because it isn't good enough" for a very long time. Maybe I'll try drawing some more fun things so I can go back to enjoying my art.
Nathan's subject of a normal human man wearing a definitely-not-cursed hat would get along well with Bogley imo
By far, Jacob's corkboard Polaroid is my favourite thing he's done, because he shows off that perseverance can result in a beautiful thing.
It's also adorable and I love it.
