Would love to have the £5 soverign proof. A different Brittania every year is great with having the standard design in Bullion. Have several including this years and Prince George 5th birthday coin.

Hi Numi. I guess the Aussies have co-opted the word Sovereign. I got my 2018 silver Two Dragons coin today. It came in with a 2018 Fiji 1oz. silver Mermaid Rising BU and a 2018 1gm. 9999 gold Maple Leaf. The tiny 1gm. ML was more expensive than the two silver ozs. The ML was an add-on to get free shipping. I'm pleased! *:-)*

"Royal Mint Bullion coins don't come up to scratch" - oh yes they do!! Most of them are scratched!! Beautiful 5 Sov piece, really shows off the design at its best.

What an awesome coin that five quid is! Its good to see a different take on George slaying the dragon. Pestrucci's design is nice but you know the old saying"familiarity breeds contempt".
A few years ago I was not over impressed with the 2005 St George now I love it and judging by the price rise for these coins so do others

The Australian Sovereign is beautiful.
As always, great video Numi. Those modern Aussie ‘Sovereigns’ seem to have a much more intense yellow colour compared to Sovs minted in Blighty. Any idea why that is? These Aussie Sovs have low mintages but besides the first year of 2009, which is popular as are most debut years in a series, they can be difficult to sell. Worth mentioning for those that collect with one eye on future value.
By the way, that 2005 5Sov is a beast 👍
If that Proof 5Sov gets a 70,it would be worth in excess of 10K USD.There is one on ebay right now selling for 13K

DW it’s like champagne not made in France. Parmesan no made in Italy and cheddar not made in England. A Sovereign has to be British under license or made by Royal Mint
