I propagated several types of Oleander by stem cuttings in soil, I show how I made the cuttings and planted them in soil in a mini greenhouse using a humidity dome. I will follow up in about a month and show how the Oleanders did.

Live in gran canaria and find it hard to find deep red oleander. Finally got two, so going ahead after watching you videos. Thanks for sharing!!
Good luck, Hope they work for you!
Oleanders are super easy, you can propagate with almost any soil, but commercial potting soil makes keeping it moist easier. I like to leave in partial shade and water once a day, never letting the soil get dry until you have some growth. You don't need to leave any leaves on the cutting either, if you do, cut them in 1/2. You can use hard or soft wood, but right in the middle seems to work the best/fastest/durable, 3/8 to 1/2 inch soft-ish wood will yield great results (1-2 year old stems). It'll take around a month to see some action, longer if you try too early in the year.
Great advice, Thanks!
Why cut the leaves in 1/2 if you leave them on? Does it help with air or?
@@buddynvictor its said to reduce water transpiration through the leaves
Thank you
You're welcome
Extremely helpful video with advice that works! Thanks!
You can also cut all the leaves off. The stem goes into damp sand, better chance for roots to grow.
and need to sun , air n water after that?
another great video! when can we see more of the greenhouse build? 👍
I had to send my GoPro camera off for warranty work, taking them forever, supposed to be in mail back to me now so will be soon!
@@GrowNewPlantsdid they root after all?
This is helpful. I want oleanders all around the property. Some are really thick and give more privacy than others. ❤️❤️
Is there a follow up video? I'd like to know if it was better in soil or water. LMK!
Yes following this..

So did you say overall sprouting in water works faster and better?
Love your videos with lots of great tips! Do you still have your ebay store, was wanting to purchase some of the bald cypress seeds from you but never saw the link!?
Thanks
any results?
Thank you! super helpful! I am going to do the orleaners in the front of my house but I need something similar in the back yard along the fence, can you recommend something similar that isn't toxic? I appreciate it! 😊
Great video, but I can’t find your follow up video. Why would you propagate in soil for a month, if they sprout roots in water in only two weeks?
Does that mean like elevated in water? Like I could hang it over a glass of water indoors to get roots?
How did you do them in water
prepare the cutting the same way, then just put in a jar of water about halfway up the cutting
Can oleander grow branches like a tree?
What's the name of the root hormone that u use?
I need to grow a lot of these. I have many in my yard along a fence. It's almost November. Is there a time not to try this and a better time to do so?
spring and summer is best, early is better to let them get established before their first winter. Most all in my area froze back last year in the extreme freeze
@@GrowNewPlants Thank you.
Isn’t oleander poisonous ? How come you don’t wear gloves ? I hear the sap causes skin irritation ?
It is toxic if you ingest it, they say it may irritate skin but it did not bother me
@@GrowNewPlants brave man I full on cover up when working with them
@@GrowNewPlantstoxic? Like if I blended the leaves in a milkshake and drank it.. it’s fatal?
@@Pricklypear7866didn’t even know they irritate skin when I dug my arms deep into a huge one to get some branches off. No effect on me and they were all over both my arms for 20 minutes at least
I just watched a video on deadly plants. This is on the list. Deadly for humans and pets. One person commented their neighbors plant came across a fence line and their dog are it and died.
Yes they are toxic to dogs if they eat them
@@GrowNewPlants i heard you need to consume alot for the poison to take effect. 1 leave is not going to kill anything i guess?
Wish the dog that poops in my front yard every week would take a bite. Kidding. I wish the owner would though. Not kidding! 😂
@@gradeAbrayeah. Maybe blend 20-30 leaves into a milkshake and then drink to have any toxic effect
