Wife and i been going there for 25 years love it and never seen any trouble thefe whatsoever.
Again when I was a kid, my family used to go for a walk along the sea front in Fuengirola. I used to run all the way to Torremolinos and back. I ran a lot back then. I would only run now if a dinosaur was chasing me! I am in my early 50's though. A kid would never be allowed to sprint off on their own nowadays. A different world. That said, there were always Police walking along the sea wall. They carried what looked like machine guns. Pretty scary - but they could never catch me! Also, there used to be stalls along the front that sold freshly made crisps. They were gorgeous. Cheers Kev. Have a great one mate.

I’ve been to La Carihuela so many times, love it there, such a nice atmosphere, very family friendly. And it’s pronounced La-Carry-Way-La, but say it in one go! 😂

Hi Kevin, pronounced Carawella, Carihuela, great atmosphere a mix of nationalities, us Scots, other Brits, Irish, Dutch etc.. loads of great bars, Bar Popular one of our favs lots of choice, Winstons scouser owned 👍
My favourite street in torremolinos love going into the church too very quiet when there’s not a service amazing how you can walk off a busy and it’s so quiet inside

Lovely. Been 3 times. Love it
Spent 4 months over winter 2017 in La Carihuela hired an apartment and had an amazing time been back a few times but not since the lockdown nonsense. Do have a week booked at the Pez Espada Hotel in January so really looking forward to it!

Also, if you fancy a scary challenge, take a bus up to the Mijas hills. I don't expect they have been able to change to roads too much since the 80's. The bus was at such a scary angle going up those roads. Great views up there though. I remember there was a trailer there that was advertised as the worlds smallest museum. It had artwork painted on to the tops of pins, and shrunken heads too. I bet that has gone now.

Thanks for the fond memories - when I was young, you couldn't walk along the beach from Torremolinos to Carihuela, it was still a small fishing village with a lot of charm but still had the great promenade and beach.
Glad to see you back in last carihuela again it was myself who recommending last time I also was the one who told about Winstons and el mojito live watching your videos no matter where you are but carihuela is my happy place going back Christmas and the New year🎉
Great spot Kev, we have been travelling to Benelmadena and Carihuela for they past twenty years. Totally recommend the marina in Benelmadena, some fantastic restaurants. Carihuela is also lovely plenty of choices. Cheers Kev

Going to benalmadena in 3 weeks for our yearly trip there can’t wait!
We always walk from torromolinos to Benalmedna on the promenade but never on the back streets cant believe we have missed this over the years so can’t wait to check it out!
