- Today, we are having dinner date night at the newest Disney World Restaurant - Summer House on the Lake. Opened just a week ago, Summer House is located in Disney Springs' West Side and brings California flavors to Florida. This place has a ton of options from pizza and pasta to fresh veggies and tacos. And yes...if you haven't heard...they have a Cookie Bar! Let's see if this place is as good as we hope... Enjoy!

The “chocolate cloud” is technically an old fashioned cookie called a chocolate crinkle - made a batch before - I know what you are talking about!

Such great info - thanks. It makes me question when I want to go because the menu looks great to me. I was contemplating making it an apps + desserts meal...sounds like that might be the way to go, for now.

We are not fans of Gideon's cookies - over-hyped and over-priced - so we are looking forward to trying the cookies at the Summer House Cookie Bar!! Watched other reviews of the restaurant and there were raves all around!! We have added it to our Disney Springs "must try" list!!

Great review we go next in February so hoping it’s better by then. Menu has enough variety my toddler could easily find something. Will you be doing the Eet one as well? You all are always so honest compared to others

Ok this is so random but we're watching DIS Unlimited do their review of Summer House and some sleuthing suggests they may be sitting right where you guys sat! Same wall to the side, trees and corner bench behind where Ryno is sitting. I may be totally wrong but it looks like the server station is gone! They must have heard your feedback! We don't miss a video! Love your content!

Well I personally feel like the name is a Home Run. Summer House on the Lake just makes me feel cozy and happy. Hopefully their food and service will catch up in the future.

We adopted him so we aren’t 100% sure but the shelter said Daniff (Great Dane x mastiff)
My son and I went there on the 17th. We both ordered the Burgers and they were just average as well. My son even commented that he would rather go to Planet Hollywood instead for their Burgers. We were sat at a High Top Table which is fine but the chairs are extremely heavy and hard to move and we are decently strong I am sure there are a lot of people who struggle even more so than we did. With the Burgers they were both very rare inside which my son didn't mind so much, but I like my steaks medium but I like my Burgers to be well done. They did bring me a new one and at that point it was just a minute from being a Hockey Puck. It was very dry and it came out completely plain and I can eat a plain Burger usually but with this Burger as soon as I took a bite I felt dehydrated already. I had to put something on which our waitress was very attentive and she came over as soon as she could when she noticed I was looking for her.
But I do agree it has a lot of potential and in a few months it could be amazing place. The views and the décor top notch. But with the food leaves more to be desired.
I almost ordered the Old Fashioned; cause I do love Old Fashioned drinks they are my favorite too. But I just didn't feel like one with a Burger I wanted a Beer and sounds like I made the right call on that deal. But with the Beer, I ordered the 'daytime' and it comes in a 12 oz. can for the same price and the others that come on tap and are 16 oz. instead. Wish I would have known that before I ordered it. Wasn't even that great of a beer either.
But I will go back and try again in a few months but will probably take my son to Planet Hollywood if he comes or to House of Blues.

Hi! I walked into the Cookie Bar and got the glazed lemon and butterscotch cookies. They were both really good. Looking forward to trying the restaurant side in the future. 😊. Dexter and Princess needed their camera time as well. They are adorable ❤

Hmm, we have several - Jaleo, Boathouse, art Smiths, Raglan Road, and Morimoto Asia are all great

We always agree with your reviews on places we have been that you review, so I have to agreed that the menu alone does nothing for me and would probably choose one above unless it changes. I would probably go for drink at Summerhouse and have some guacamole to check it out.
We were disappointed with Summer House on the Lake. It's a beautiful restaurant and we loved getting to sit on the patio. But the music is too loud, you can't carry on a conversation. So loud that the server didn't hear correctly what we ordered and brought the wrong item. But because it took so long, we just ate it, and they did comp it. It's also tight and was rude that two different servers were reaching over our heads to put down plates, instead of going directly to that person. The kale pizza was burnt. Dream Puffs were cold and rock hard. Cookies are okay, but nothing I would rush back to get. And they are expensive for what you get. Better options at Disney Springs.
We also had friends that went and got the burger. They ask for mustard for their burger and the server said they couldn't do that because they are a California Restaurant. What? I get they wouldn't serve it that way, but you still should have it available if customers want it.
