- Hello Beautiful Friends!
In today's video, we are following a PATTERN! Something we don't normally do on this channel, but I wanted to give it a go! My friend needed a Baptismal gift for his nephew so using Simplicity PAttern 8716, we used the dog pattern to make a Lamb. The fabric used is from Joann's and we used thrifted buttons.
Thanks for sharing! I bought this pattern and I'm a visual learner so seeing this video really helps me visualize how I need to put this together.
Thank you so much! I am a visual learner as well so I love making tutorials to help out :)
My grandmother taught me to take a light brushing to the seams when you’re done. It just gives it a more professional look.
Oooh nice. Can you please explain to me (beginner) what that means? Lol
@@catherinevelez8049 Hi! Sure I’d love to. After you sew a stuffed animal with fur take a soft bristle brush , and brush the seams. It makes for a more fluffy look.
What an awesome video! Thank you for a great and easy to follow tutorial!
I know that you have limited time on a RUclips video but it would really help novices like me if you went slower especially on the intricate parts like the darts.
Good video, and easy to follow. That lamb is so cute!
Great video. My daughter and I are going to make this!
Awesome! I would love to hear how it turns out!!
By the way... That pattern is the dog pattern for Simplicity 8044 hahaha! exactly the same!
Thank you for this tutorial!
Thank you for watching and for your feedback!!!
I’m working on the bear pattern for my unborn son now. 😬
Congratulations on your baby!!!! I hope the bear turned out super adorable!!!
I don’t know about using buttons with a baby plushie because when they’re teething they tend to slobber, and chew which can work that button loose.
Is it cheaper too use Walmart pillows instead of Poly fil?
I personally think it’s cheaper, but it depends what stores you have access to. Either one will work and both will give you a nice fluffy animal 🙂
I do
How much fabric did you use?
This depends on the width of your fabric. You can probably get away with a half a yard of fabric but I would personally get a full yard just to be safe. This is also good in case anything goes wrong. 🙂
I suppose my comment is a bit odd... I was several months late in finding this video! But, well... I am a super beginner sewer. Super beginner. I've made a pillow once... and another time I fixed a rip in a pair of pants. But I have a bunny I got when I was a year or so from my grandmother. I'm 28 now and that bunny has been by my side through everything. I saw this pattern at walmart and I stopped and I said, "That's really cute! That body is very similar to Bunny's... the heads are obviously different, but they look like they could be modified to be more like his." And on a whim, despite not being a sewer, I bought that pattern and looked at it. the instructions in the package confused me almost from the start. So I thought I'd look online and see someone making this plush. I'm... very confused often. The plush body pattern itself seemed simple but some of the instructions, I just ... got confused. I asked what it meant by "cut the excess off" and "Do you need to pre-shrink minky?" and my mom didn't know what minky was or what it meant by cut the excess off. So I looked here and immediately found your video. I thought you seemed very much like you knew sewing, certainly not a Super Beginner such as myself, so I settled down to watch it. And I was extremely impressed from the moment I saw you start to cut the pattern out of the paper. I thought, "well, that looks even simpler than I thought! And she definitely has a good hand at cutting out patterns! It's just two pieces?" and I saw you cut off the darts and I was impressed by that (never saw that before), and when the whole thing was completed by the end of your five minute video, I was basically sold. I think that after having you to guide me, I have a much greater chance of actually managing to make my bunny.
I wanted to thank you for posting this, I think tomorrow when I sit down to cut the pattern out and cut the pieces out of minky, having this video at my side will help me really get it finished. I'm really grateful for this. I'll make sure to return here and leave a follow up comment about how he turns out. Thank you so much.
