Michael was part of the transition music from hard rock to heavy metal UFO. He has stayed true to this music. There's an element of beauty, love and goodness in the music.
I used to crank this w headphones in 85? Knew it was UFO but didn't know much about them.....little did I know how big a fan of herr schenker til years later. Loved the way it developed and built up to a great crescendo.
The first time I ever heard & saw him play !! It was my very first concert it was at the Baltimore civic center the first band was Cheap Trick they were okay the second band was a group called U.F.O. I was so impressed with this band Schenker was awesome they did this song after they left the stage the place was buzzing !! The final act and headliner was Rush I had listened to their music prior to this show but I like a hard driving Guitar riffs and this wasn’t it but UFO stole the show I when out the next day and bought all albums that Michael Schenker had a hand in Force It , No Heavy Petting,Phenomenon ,Obsession of course Lights Out later came the live album recorded in Chicago !! He was only 17,there are so many awesome songs that this man has had a direct hand in there are just so many songs to name !! I would love for him to come around here if able I would definitely go see him !! I would love for him to go on tour and play nothing but U.F.O. Songs the tour could be called Michael Schenker does UFO !! I’m pretty sure it was sellout most venues !!
@@markpowell2395 exactly right they were good, but Schenker made them great look at the songs UFO played in recent years while Moog was still performing all songs from the Schenker era !! But you are right Moog should have never hit Michael,it destroyed a band that was headed for major success and stardom !!
@davidday8417 Right ! But Mogg still has always picked fine guitarists ! And ticky tacky or not I never cared for Michael's stage presence ! But my least favorite stage presence of any guitarist was of the geeky child sex veiwer Pete Townsend ! And The Who besides a few songs never got it for me !
Such a beautiful song! Michael's tone and skills are unmatched, only Tony Iommi can be compared. Both are true creators, with their own style. No copycats here!
Toni is definitely on my top 5 guitarist, but I followed Ozzy and Randy Rhoads after Black Sabbath split. When UFO split. I was in a UFO/MSG tribute band and lost track of UFO after a couple of good tracks on No Place to Run. Got to give Phil Moog and Ozzy credit for making these songs legendary.
I've seen Michael Schenker Group 6, possibly 7 times. The first time was in Germany in 1982. I've NEVER had the absolute pleasure of listening to him play this song live. Thank you for recording this & being so close must have been the greatest.
@@davec3901 Stuttgart, Germany in a soccer stadium. It was great. I've seen them plenty of times in San Antonio, Texas. There are a bunch of festivals or at least 4 or 5 bands playing. Michael Schenker will almost always be on the bill.
I heard that the reason UFO is so underrated, is because their recording label didn't do a good job of getting them on radio way back in the day. Must be true, because you never hear them on any "cookie cutter" classic rock station. Regardless, I'm glad I discovered them over 40 years ago. I could listen to him play guitar ever day! Strangers in the Night is my favorite live album = pure rock -n- roll bliss, thanks to Michael!
@ 6:43, Amazing melodic guitar work from the master. All over the fret work with much feel and ease. It's no wonder this guy's a legend. Utilizing most of the notes on the guitar neck, keeping the listener attention constantly in awe. Michael Schenker improvises like no other guitarist. I am definitely going to see him in November 2022, down here in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Вам повезло. А нам нет. Я из Казахстана. К нам он никогда не заезжал😢. И нам к нему не попасть. Обидно. Но хорошо, что сейчас можно увидеть и услышать его! ❤
Amazing!!! I loved the song the first time I heard it. This was before I knew of Michael. Now I know why it’s so amazing. Michael is definitely my favorite guitarist!!! Thanks for posting the video! Pure magic!
I just wish the ship that sailed would just sail back and Phil and Michael would play together again. Just once more!! Only michael should play this song and only Phil Mogg should sing it. The dream team….but oil and water unfortunately.
@@Paleoman I believe somewhere I read the 6550s went to America...but ...i'm nit sure I remember correctly 😳 . I dont believe Mr Schenker would even kno. But his tech sure would..someone give us some facts please

OMG, Rubbish.. not rushing to see him any time soon. He has to look at his fingers when playing like an amateur. He's not "feeling" it like he used too.
Bad mix, shit sound, the live version sux, I am from Germany, have seen Rudolf and Michael Schenker over the years. Xcellent musos. But here? Disappointed.
Thank the lord it not ronnie romero singing it saw him with msg a few months ago in kk steelmill wolverhampton romero was awful he got words wrong made it up as he went along seen thousands of bands over years he was easily worst singer I have ever seen
Despite being a UFO fan for two decades, I only just now realized Schenker uses a 3-finger pick grip. Makes me wonder if that's why James Hetfield does the same. 🤔
Untouchable....his solos influenced an entire generation....
Absolutely, no doubt!!!!😎🔥
The version on Strangers In The Night is beyond badass.
Never plays the same solo twice. His improvisational skills are master level. Love guitar players like Michael who can make up a solo as they play.
Absolutely yes ! I agree.
( from THAILAND )
The melody in that solo is to die for.
Michael was part of the transition music from hard rock to heavy metal UFO.
He has stayed true to this music.

Y’all gotta admit, Michael plays some of the most melodic tunes. 👍👍
I am never bored listening to his playing.
Totally agree he's brilliant

I've seen him do this song 4 times and if you go through a compilation of live videos each solo is different, all amazing but different.
1st time I've seen MSG play this song too. One of my favorites. Thew vocal and guitar tracks are pure passion.

Best concert i have ever visited: MSG with Cozy in the line-up (1982? Utrecht)
Mr. Colin "Cozy Powell" Trevor Flooks 🥁😢

Attended in Los Angeles, live show schenker is stellar.
Absolutely beautiful tremendous adventure and ingenuity. Wonderful music sorry to leave when music is the only vestige of civility.
This vocalist died in a car crash a few years back. Dave Van. I miss you.

I wish Michael were still playing the Gibson Flying V - the sound is so much more clear from the Gibson
There is a very slight muddy sound.
Michael, your 14 year old Nephew in Hanover called. He wants his Sneakers back!! lol :)
Yes UFO!!!!!!!

Exactly mogg amazing!!
The Dean guitars just don’t sound right…Michael needs a Gibson Signature Flying V! Come on Gibson, you are missing a huge opportunity!
The Gibson headstock is so much prettier than that ugly Dean headstock.
GREAT, but hard to hear the singer
Did you record this underwater? The sound is crap, you're not doing the artist any favors.
