Lovely snow, like in both of the football games today. It's a beautiful day in Pennsylvania! I recall watching the Tokyo Marathon live on the Olympic Channel at least once, maybe only once. I still have a couple of their Berlin Marathons on my DVR including Kipchoge's 2:01:39 world record. Sports is a recipe for instant drama, especially if you have a favorite in the battle and it fits into an ongoing storyline. Who is the protagonist, what does he want, why can't he have it, and how does he try to get it? That's how storytelling works. Yes, the European races have incredibly slick broadcasts. Maybe the Barkley Marathons would lose its mystique if mountain bikers with cameras on gimbals followed the runners the whole way. But I think Aravaipa Running is doing some good stuff on a smaller budget. I watched a lot of the Javelina Jundred livestream in October and enjoyed that.
