The master is back. Such a great guy Steve Hughes.
Steve is one of those guys that for me is right up right up there in terms of vibe along with Carlin, Hicks, O'Neal, Burr, and few others. There's not that many men who's work scratches that particular itch of no bs, staight to the bone comedy.
I find him much funnier and less cynical for the sake of being cynical. Especially Carlin. Carlin was more like a doomsday prophet but rarely funny. Hicks was hilarious but Hughes is funny and somehow uplifting when he talks about the mad world.
I agree . It's just too bad that Burr has gone all hollywood lately.

What a delightful chat! It's nice to see Steve in a good mood, talking about positive things! Not to say that his commentary on societal issues would be bad, but seeing this side of him was very refreshing in a sense!

When I saw Steve at a small pub called the polar bear in Hull was amazing. Shared a wierd cigarette and he was just a beautiful human being. What an honour x

Love steve hughes! He's always been a breath of fresh air in amongst the mainstream comics as someone who is trying to inform the general public of how things are going to go unless we all wake up. Glad to see hes doing okay now and am looking forward to seeing him in Southampton in September 😊

Watched Clive years ago with a video on mSM… always like his info. Steve is one of the most funny guys, who jokes about things I’m Interested in.

Steve is Australia's greatest imo.....and the guys he's talking about O'Neil, Burr etc.....they were part of the Golden age of stand up comedy, the early 2000's....with people like Colin Quinn, Nick Di Paolo, George Carlin in his prime, Jim Norton , Greg Giraldo....i could keep going....some damn funny mofo's !!

Steve Hughes. Seen you in Inverness back in 2012 or something and I still have a plaster on me ribs :) You are highly capable of eliciting wonder and here....pssst I'd pick you any day over Bill Burr.
I think Michael Mackintyre gets a bad rep for being popular but his Saturday night show IS funny. When he takes a celebrities phone and blanket texts every number with some ridiculous request and then reads on the replies its sometimes hilarious. And he invades another celebrities house in the middle of the night and wakes them up with a brass band!
Quite enjoyed this a little different from Steve's "normal" content can be hard to here as voices are a bit boomy but otherwise good work
Yeah the sound needs to be dialed up and normalised. Steve's too precious for compromise on the audio haha

Why doesn’t Steve start his own RUclips channel or podcast.
I've windered this, but also wondered how I'd miss his recent way of 'just popping up places' and seeing him in fairly disparate contexts, if he rolled further into this and got a bit more deliberate about it I'd also be, literally, 'content-ed'.

@@kobked-x I think the implication was a channel in the more typical vein of channels; regular podcast/vlog styled uploads and livestream kind of stuff, rather than a back catalogue of standup clips as his channel is.
@@stompinknowledge3968 Steve rates very highly on my very short list of favourite comedians. I enjoyed this conversation but also enjoy good standup, so Steve's channel is a happy indulgence, his videos are immortal, they always elicit peals of laughter . . .

Yeah I like his channel as is, bit part of me would definitely welcome his interoretation of the said 'vlog-y/podcast' style. He'd be the only comedian I'd give the time of day in that format, I think.
