Joy Of Impermanence (JOI) is a project which aims at creating spaces for experiencing sustainable community life, based in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, India. Our community is about conscious and natural living and we as a community take responsibility of our surroundings, community members and work together.
JOI is a community of spirit, self sufficiency and eco-living, where we share our beliefs, culture and most importantly we sustain a community. A community that is built on natural and ecological aspects and built by its own community member, whether its building houses or digging for drainage all the work was done by the community members and the beloved volunteers who helped us to manifest this dream.

I visited Auroville 7 times but it's my bad luck that I never met you. I always stayed at Savitri Bhavan. I would like to visit your community and meet all of you once during one of my next visits, if you allow me. I hope all of you are fine and doing well among all the present disturbances in Auroville.

Have a look at the Auroville. Org website. Best would be to Come and Volunteer at first, then see if you like it, then afterwards you can start your newcomer process.

First you conn volunteer with the community, then after some time they will share with you the process. For more information please email Joyofimpermanence@gmail.com
How did you select the people?
It happened naturally, the idea was put out to the community as a whole, and over time less and less people came due to the hard work involved. In the end it was the few willing to work together.
We don't select the people... God chooses them 🙂..
Many are called but few are chosen 😊
