Elevator Action you're supposed to get all the red doors but you have to stand on the mark under them and press up to go in them. After the doors turn the other color to show you got it. The reason why it was bringing you back up was because you missed them.
Those Flintstones games are really good actually. You can charge up Fred's bat. You pick up Power and extend your power bar. In one of them (or both, not sure now) when you extend it enough, it makes an earthquake. There are secrets in some levels. There are also mini-games in-between levels. There are boss battles and puzzle platforming in some levels. There is also a similar Jetsons game made by Taito as well. That one's also good.
dude you gotta replay Infiltrator. yes the helicopter missiobs are total ass, but you can choose to skip it and play the base missions, which are fun. you have to sneak around a military base break into buildings knock out guards. you can find the generals clothes so that none of the soldiers mess with you. its actually fun sneaking around
Jurassic Park - One of Ocean's few quality games. I remember playing Jurassic park on like 4 separate consoles at least, lol. The NES one was my favorites. Also includes a banger soundtrack.
52:27- I find Flying warriors to be a quite cool mashup of beat em up and JRPG genres. The beginning is a bit slow paced as you noticed, but it gets better quick and i couldn’t stop playing as I advanced through the game A strong candidate for a full gameplay if you dig more obscure NES titles
This was such an awesome stream, thanks Mike. This is just about the only thing i can watch now that doesn't depress me, thanks for keeping us entertained.
I missed some of the stream glad to see the vod up. Love the content man. I am 19 but I grew up starting out as a low income family so Nes and Snes and and old windows 95 computer were all I had about ages 3 to 6. Nes is forever one of the top consoles of all time in my view. Might try some of the games I haven't. Much love though man keep up entertaining stuff!
Oh, in Adventure Island, when you get the skateboard, let the first bird HIT YOU. It'll produce an egg that contains the fireballs, but you have to break it with your Axes. Jungle Book was one of the last NES games (1994).
Mike, on G.I.JOE atlantis factor the POW upgrades your attack, if you have your gun out it levels up your gun, if you have your fists out it upgrades you punch power, best to power up the gun as much as possible and save your ammo for the boss guy, so switch to your gunbefore you pick up the pow, then switch back to your fists til the boss, also there are two pow's to the left of your start position on the first level, also the select decide screen has function after the first level, its similar to the character select from the first one, you'll be able to create a team after level 1, also the grid screen after that is the password system....... would love to see you do a whole video of atlantis factor, its one of my favorite NES games.
It's interesting to see someone play Iron Tank coming from a perspective of someone who really digs Jackal. I played Jackal like a decade after owning Iron Tank and to me it's like "You know what's great? Being able to fire both guns in all directions." Jackal is certainly a bit better made all-around, but I prefer how Iron Tank's power-up management stuff, multiple level paths, and the fact that you can direct your cannon turret in ways so you can strafe enemies or shoot at them as you're retreating.
Journey to Silius/Rough World (almost a Terminator game by the way) has an amazing OST - stage 2 (Underground Concourse) in particular is one of the best tracks on the NES imo (5:33:03).
In Hollywood Squares, the first answer they give is ALWAYS a smart-ass answer, you have to read the real answer on the next screen before you agree/disagree. I think i counted only 28 seconds for Hudson Hawk (lost it at that part). Jaws was something pretty great too. Lovin' these ......
I fell asleep watching this last night. Dozed off during HydeLide, woke back up when you got to Indiana Jones and thought you were still on HydeLide lol
aw man, flying warriors was just about to begin there. it's one of my favorite nes games of all time with its over the top fights (albeit a bit slow, but it's the nes, so..)
@@Maytag99 yeah, not too bad when you actually think about it. ±677 licensed games and ±100 unlicensed games 140-150 games worth playing. That's almost 20% or 1 in 5 games.

Elevator Action 2 or EX (or whatever its called) for the arcade and the Sega Saturn is way better than the original. If anyone is interested, its on one of the Taito Legends (not sure if its 1 or 2). Both Taito Legends are well worth the purchase. Im sure the emulation isnt perfect, but I didnt notice anything game breaking or the like. I love all the Darius games they have them.
You need to go back to the Last Crusade games some day. They're really awesome, both of them. They kind of start a bit slow but they have really great story and follows the movie perfectly.
Gemfire actually was one of my favorite games on Genesis and NES version doesn't look much different. But my older brother explained to me how to play it.
the "Fisher Price" gaming segment.... OMG, I literally cannot stop F'ing laughing so hard, I'm crying and my sides hurting so bad I can't breathe.... LOL 😆😆😂😂😂😂😂 I actually had to pause the video just to catch my breath!!! Mike, you're genuinely one funny man! love ya dude! please keep these "reviews" coming.... your reactions are priceless, and epically funny!!!
Its cool to see that you game kind of the same way that I do. With that determination to not let the game beat you. I do the same thing, the same way you did with Jaws. I do it with online competitive games too... which can turn a 5 min gaming session into 3 hours. :P That said, its sad to see you dissing on Jurassic Park. It was probably my fav NES game as a kid. Its not as complicated as you make it out to be, if 10 year old me can figure it out, so can you. The graphics are good, gameplay is fun and smooth, and the music is the best fucking music in all of the NES library.
Around 3:47:00 when you're talking about worst NES games the one that stands out and my personal worst ever is Taboo. That's the one game I rented as a kid and wanted to go back to get any other game.
i do a lot of video editing and put these on as background noise, but damn if i cant recognize almost every game from the music, the nes had the best music of any system ever, lots of bangers in this one especially
More Like 200 mb. I've got approximately 1030 NES Roms in my phone totaling 203 mb. This collection includes prototypes, unlicensed and homebrew games. There are only ±677 licensed NES games.
Mike, I demand a mulligan on Flying Warriors! Beginner difficulty, Master control system. Not saying you'll like it, but genuinely curious what you'll think of it if you play for a while. It's one of my favorite games for the NES.
I AM LOOKING FOR A NES GAME , the premise is a overhead view of differnt puzzle like lvls that have you pulling " carpet" squares to slam enemies into the wall to kill them to clear the level , there are MANY enemy types from ballerinas to swimmers
I Can Remember sounds like the name of a game about a guy with amnesia who suddenly remembers something shocking from his past and tries to figure out what it means, while uncovering horrible truths along the way.
MOON CRYSTAL for October! Play MOON CRYSTAL! Mike Matei, btw James Bond Jr is actually really cool but some of the little puzzles are pretty hard, other than that, Give it another serious try one day.
3:15:00
And indeed, James ends up reviewing this game as the AVGN.
3:03:16 - 3:15:27 = Hudson Hawk
Best part.
Can't wait for Mike to Stream Hudson Hawk on NES. Sounds like a fun game for him to stream!
Lmao
Coming here after watching AVGN raging over Hudson Hawk lol. This is more raw and I laughed so hard.
MIKE, DO A FULL PLAYTHROUGH OF HUDSON HAWK AND FARIA.

Yup you need all the cases from the red doors to move on. Stand on the square. Push up. Almost arcade perfect. I loved this game.

Best/Funniest game of the stream is Hudson Hawk at 3:03:11
Jaws was pretty good too, played the whole thing lol.
Hudson Hawk made it as an episode now
3:03:10 Hudson Hawk :,D
That Hudson Hawk playthrough was like the best thing.
I'd say Jaws, that was a true playthrough on a "30 second" NES game review, just got too repetitive though, UGH lol.

Kinda how I feel about Platoon. The first level is so shit I wasn't surprised he skipped it, but once you get to the second level it's better.
Thanks for uploading this can't wait to see the rest

A Mike Matei A-Z play-through wouldn't be complete without a quick little rage-out on Jaws.

I can literally see his soul leaving during the fisher-price games. Xd
For Isolated Warrior: L is long weapon, W is wide (spread) weapon. IIRC you need to press Select to switch between.
Wasn't Journey to Silius originally going to be The Terminator?
I worked as an elevator operator for a rooftop bar in NC. I LIVED ELEVATOR ACTION 💥
I fell asleep watching this last night. Dozed off during HydeLide, woke back up when you got to Indiana Jones and thought you were still on HydeLide lol
You've been killing it on Twitch lately man btw!!
"Hamburger medium rear" 37:33 lol
26:50 at the same time?
So far my favorite 2 streams you've uploaded can't wait for part 3 K-P
Mike, when it comes to NES have you ever played... Mike: Yes, I have.
Not even gonna lie: Farie - A World of Mystery looks dope as hell.
The top-down action makes it like an improved version of Zelda II.
Lol!! This later turned into a Jaws Let’s Play! Watching Mike lose it always makes me laugh xD
Thanks for uploading these on here, I seem to only catch the tail end of your livestreams.
55:09 That's Captain Hook? It looks more like LeChuck!
Great stream, I hope someday you'll go through and play a lot of these all the way through, would love to see that

Nearly every game Mike plays “this is shit” 😂
Then just randomly "this is alright actually".
Some nice music in that ferari grand prix challenge game... made me go find the ost!

I used to play Elevator Action at my local Chuck E Cheese as a kid.

There’s a place for your feet at the red doors. You have to stand directly on them to enter.
What do you use to play all these? I have a raspberry pi but I like how simple your setup is.

Hudson Hawk is based on a Bruce Willis movie. Maybe it's time for AVGN: Bruce Willis Games? Die Hard Trilogy 2 on PS1 was also pretty bad.
