    This was helpful! Any suggestions on when to use gloss vs satin varnish? I feel the gloss for portraits will create too much glare…

      I think it's personal taste. I prefer the gloss but know lots of artists who don't. Gamvar gloss is not as glossy as W&N gloss😀

    Is the Windsor in Newton gloss varnish labeled for both acrylic and oil paintings? I’m confused by the labels

      it's a different varnish for acrylic paintings. The ones I show you here are for oils. If you google W&N acrylic varnish you'll find them. I think the containers they come in are slightly different. 👍
