the score is different from the recording. i hear instruments that are not on the score. which means there is one other version of this piece... i'm curious where i could find the score of that
Folk Songs of Luciano Berio are for Mezzosoprano, not for soprano, because of his wife (since 1950 till 1966), Cathy Berberian who was mezzo and who is singing here.
I also found this surprising. The score avoids polemic and just says 'voice'. Not a bad idea, considering. If you can sing it at this pitch then go for it!
This is the version for voice and orchestra, but the score is the original version for voice and chamber group.
Thanks to the God's of Providence for assisting me enjoy this wonderful music. To the artists and all cheers!
This work is so genial! Thanks so much for sharing the record with score.

The perusal score is available for perusal here: www.universaledition.com/luciano-berio-54/works/folk-songs-2491
All text is destroyed. Interesting, who worked on text??
This is great. At 9:22 I definitely hear trumpet but I don't see it on the score, only clarinet - am I going mad?
No, not mad. I came to this score video to try to find it. I think it's the original score with variations.
@@NerdsIsPown The score is the original for voice and small group of instruments but the recording is with a full orchestra.

UGH! I have never like Cath Berberian’s voice…especially the belt she does in this song. SOOOO strained and tight
