Dear mr. Mondon, you are a blessing: I listened to the premiere live perofrmance of this piece by the Swingle Singers many years ago, and I have longed to read this score ever since. A ton of my deepest thanks!
I had the converse experience of seeing the score first, mid-70s. I went to babysit for my aunt, and found the score open on the piano. Though no musician, I could tell that I was looking at something remarkable. At the time my aunt was married to member of Swingle II, though he is not performing in this recording. It was some years before I heard the work. But I'd never forgotten the haunting melodies I'd picked out on the piano from the score. To add to the personal connections, later I sang regularly in a choir conducted by someone who did sing in this recording. It is a remarkable performance. Quite how remarkable I learned from the disappointing experience of later hearing a live performance by a another group. I've long dreamed of seeing the score again, now over 40 years later. I could still half see it in my minds eye. So many thanks from me too.
The ultimate performance of a masterpiece.
Came here after reading a blog all about the old cries of London....this is absolutely riveting and mesmerising. Love it.
What a masterpiece - thank you.
Fancy seeing one of my favorite transcription channels here!

Wow, great piece. The "Cry of Cries" is particularly interesting. The reprises of the opening material are also quite nice.
