      So every time you can't see something you're going to pop a flare ? Or carry a $90 parachute flare which you would need multiples of
      Also white lights are not meant to be left on all the time so theres no need for large heatsinks

    I remember when I had to do night ops in the Army. It was hard at first to adjust depth perception wearing nods; over time, it got easier. Sometimes it was scary going on patrol not knowing what you’re going to run in to. But sometimes I miss that stuff.

  • @johnwatson317

    Very well done on the PCI’s! Something most folks never hear about. After 34 yrs of wearing nods, the cap trick is worth its weight in gold, just one nobody really thinks of. Good job, nice kit!

    Only thing I would add would be to confirm your lazer is aligned with your optic. Can do daytime with visible settings or night time with passive setup and IR. Find a reference point at 25, 50, or 100, whatever your optic is zeroed at. Everything else was great.

    • @brandonbowman5915
      @brandonbowman5915 6 месяцев назад +2

    Love it. Only problem with the “hasty” method is parasitic battery drain. Newer NVG (NODs) with digital buttons, LAMs (lasers) left in the wrong switch position or in general just drain - etc.
    For this reason, I run a battery pack. I have a visual indicator that the battery is “removed” so the NVG is safe for storage but also a physical break in the power connection eliminating any draw and I know that if fresh batteries were put in there last then they’re good to go.

    one simple question, when it comes to setting your nods pouch on yourself, should it be put within your reach when wearing the plate? For example in Adam's case he put his pouch, to the right of his front plate which he can access by himself. But doing so means sacrificing spaces and molles which could be used for mags or other pouches. Since nods are only used in certain environments, why can't we put them on our back panel (mounted on the molles) or just out of our work spaces? And when we need ro use them, simply asking your teammates to grab them for you or if have time, just take of your pc and grab them yourself? Just my opinion
